We loved being able to make our own breakfast for family
There was nothing we didnt like. We had a great time

Beautiful 1800s hotel
Didn’t have anywhere in town to have dinner.

Were entranced by the ambiance and polite staff who went above and beyond to help us get there (very late) and made us feel welcome. We want to come back for certain.
There wasn't much to eat in the morning. If we could have bought food we didn't know where! We ended up at a gas station after coffee from upstairs.

A beautiful surprise! Room, parlor, kitchen … all of it outstanding!

nice room, kitchen was well stocked, helpful staff
Noise of traffic and train through the night. Windows should be replaced with double panes to help block some noise.

good place to get away for a night
everyone being over 80 years old the stairs was a killer lol

Enjoy old hotels from the past.
too much furniture in the room. No food serve. Bathroom had a major step to into in. It hotel rooms were on the second floor- climbing many steps. should be noted the room brochure.

A wonderful historic hotel, and great staff. A big variety of breakfast items and you pick and choose as you like. The salon/lounge/sitting room is like no other I've seen. I'll definitely return should I get the chance. A very good Mexican restaurant is steps away.
All was outstanding.

We loved the decor and the room was very comfy. It was a great experience!

There was a room with packaged cereal bars, etc. We didn’t eat because it didn’t seem fresh and because of the droppings we had seen in our room.
Everything should have been freshened up before we arrived. I had booked that room a month in advance. My granddaughter opened the face wipe in the bathroom and it didn’t even have any liquid in it at all. It was as dry as a bone, so it had been there forever. Very poor management! We had called an hour before arriving wanting to take a tour of the tunnels under the hotel the following day. The owner, Chris, said he wasn’t there on Tuesday! Really!!!!

For a self serve breakfast, they had a huge selection.

The Speakeasy was great and accommodations were comfortable!

Loved the underground tunnel tour.

I did not like the light in the hallway shining through the window above the door at night.

It was a lovely place to stay. I would go back. The Underground bar was fun! Chris, the owner, was very friendly.
A cooked breakfast would have been nice for the price we paid. And, I accidentally left my sweater there, but the owner didn't respond when I texted to see if it was found.

People who worked there. Rooms comfortable.
Traffic on highway. Rooms without bathrooms. But was OK because we were all family.

breakfast was just prepackaged muffins, pastries, granola bars, packet oatmeal, etc. I would guess that in non-COVID times, this would be a better spread. The foods were available all day through. Coming in late with limited dinner options, this helped to tide us over.
There is a little stove and microwave, as well as full fridge. So one could have cooked their own breakfast, if needed.
The hotel itself is a charming surprise. I knew it was historic, but felt a few qualms when I saw it in real life. However, the inside was charming! Clean and comfortable. Almost transported me back in time, but with modern amenities.
My only wish is that there was some peelable fruit available (bananas). I was excited to see apples only to find they were for decoration only (not real).
If you come in late and hungry, there is not much around to get something to eat. Casey's down the street has pretty good pizza, if they have fresh slices. If not, ask them to make you one and come back for it. But MAKE SURE they know you want it before you leave. They may assume you did not want it.

Very interesting property. The rooms are beautifully done and ac works well. Don’t let the building exterior fool you.
Pretty steep stairs to the rooms. Wished the bar had been open.
