About this cottage rental
Imagine a scene of tumbling hills, patchwork countryside and bluebell woods. Nestled in that landscape is a town full of honey-coloured architectural gems, authentic pubs and great shops. Here you'll find the Old Studio. It's the perfect accommodation for a relaxing couples retreat, an ideal family-friendly base for touring all the nearby sights or a cosy meeting point for old friends.
The Old Studio is a beautiful Cotswold stone detached cottage with plenty of space to comfortably accommodate 4 people.
Owned by an artistic couple, the property underwent an extensive renovation in 2021.
The aim was to create a holiday cottage that felt more like a luxury boutique hotel. Particular attention has been paid to the quality of the beds (Vi-sprung), upholstery (George Smith), and shower (Fired Earth). The interior is light and airy, and good-quality, natural materials have been used throughout.
From the front door, you walk into a light-filled, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen is well-equipped with plentiful cutlery, crockery, and glassware. There's a lovely shower room downstairs with a spacious cubicle and a good-quality powerful shower. There's also a small utility room with a washing machine.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, a small family bathroom and a study area on the landing. The rooms are furnished with Vi-sprung beds and have wooden Venetian blinds at the windows.
Please be aware that, like most Cotswold cottages, the bedrooms have been built into the eaves of the building and have restricted head height in some areas.
Large French doors in the living room open out to a sunny paved dining area with a dining table and four chairs. Outdoor seating is also available for guests' exclusive use in the shared garden. Secure off-road parking for one car and free road parking are available.
Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome. However, they must not be left alone in the property or allowed to climb onto the furniture.
Helen and Michael live at the other end of the garden. They aim to strike a happy balance between being available to give advice and assistance when needed, while also giving guests plenty of privacy to enjoy a relaxing holiday
The setting is in a secluded part of Chipping Campden, away from the hustle and bustle of the High Street but within a few minutes walk of all its' amenities. The town is well provided for with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and a good selection of local shops including excellent delis and a couple of small supermarkets. We also enjoy a wide variety of galleries and buildings of historical importance. Campden is a well-located town within an easy drive of Cheltenham, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford. It's in the heart of the English Cotswolds, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Helen and Michael hope you have a fantastic stay in the Cotswolds! There's plenty to do, and they're available to advise you if you need help.
If you have a passion for art and creativity, you'll find inspiration in visiting Helen's studio next to the cottage. You can explore a variety of her work and engage in conversation with her about her artistic process. You might find yourself motivated to participate in one of her creative workshops. Send a message if you'd like to know more.

We had the most marvelous time at this property. We were met by cherrie hosts Who helped us navigate their tricky entrance. The cottage is absolutely wonderful. They had milk, cookies, and chocolate poundcake waiting for us. The accommodations were modern and very clean and functional. We have nothing negative to say at all and will definitely stay there again for our next visit.

This cottage was an absolute gem! The owners love their guests and love the home and it shows without a doubt. Every piece of the home is adorably designed, the vibe of the home and the area was almost like the home in the film “the Holiday”. The owners left milk, coffee cake and some delicious biscuits for us at arrival. Such a wonderful touch. We loved our stay here and will definitely come back again!

Great property in a quiet location. Everything necessary was provided, it was a comfortable base in a great spot. Friendly host is close by if needed but in no way intrusive.

We had a wonderful pre Christmas break in this lovely cottage. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent as well as during our stay. Thank you Helen.
The Cottage is perfect for a short break- comfy beds and a decent shower. The kitchen is well equipped and the overall layout of the cottage is ideal for a family of 4.
The local area is so lovely- a picture perfect Cotswolds village. There are great dog walks on your doorstep and Chipping Camden highstreet is a mere 10 minute walk away. The village offers some great restaurants such as Michael’s and Da Luigis, both of which are dog friendly. There’s also a deli and some other nice shops and pubs, so a decent amount of places to visit. If you want to venture a bit further, the village of Broadway is worth the 10 minute drive.
Thank you for a fantastic break.

An absolutely gorgeous cottage in a picturesque setting - walking distance to everything and the hosts are so welcoming!

This was a delightful property, thoughtfully supplied with all one needs, in a great location. Short walk to a wonderful center with great delis and restaurants, yet not overrun with tourists as we witnessed while touring other Cotswold “hotspots”. Chipping Camden is on the Cotswold way and with the guides supplied by the hosts, we were able to take incredible walks throughout the area, from village yo village on footpaths. We went days without getting into the car. Perfect!

Helen was amazingly responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. Kitchen was well supplied. A very comfortable place to spend the week.
The apartment is an easy five minute walk to the High Street in Chipping Campden, and there is bus service to other parts of the Cotswolds, but if you plan to spend time exploring the larger region, a car will make it a lot easier.

We loved our stay in Chipping Campden. The cottage was so cute and convenient to town. We walked to dinner every night and could gather a couple of groceries from the market for the evening/morning.
Helen was so sweet and helpful. She was always a short walk away and responded promptly to any question we had.
It was a nice surprise to find fresh chocolate croissants left for us for our first morning. We would not hesitate to stay here next time we are in the Cotswolds.

Our family had a wonderful time staying in Chipping Campden. The cottage was perfectly appointed and our kids loved their room with a neat dormer window to peer out at the sheep across the hill. We had fun exploring the neighborhood on our way into town where there are several pubs and delicious tea/cakes at Bantam Tea Room. There is a fantastic park with a zip line nearby and we loved hiking the Cotswolds Way to Broadway Tower. Bourton on the Water and Cotswolds Family Farm Park are also nearby. We hope to be back from CA again soon!

Great Base in the Cotswolds
We were in the area for a wedding combined with tourism and found this property comfortable and well appointed. The short walk to the High Street meant not needing the car in town. Communications, and check-in and out were very smooth. A good find!

Gorgeous property
We stayed at this property for three nights in April. We were nearing the end of our trip to England and wanted to relax in a beautiful setting. I'm a retired interior designer so when I came upon this home on the VRBO website I was struck with how beautiful and welcoming it was. When we arrived I was even more pleased as the photos are spot on. This house is beautiful and well appointed. It's absolutely gorgeous and looks like it was just remodeled.
The home is also centrally located. We could do easy day trips or walk into town and have drinks at one of the many good pubs the town has to offer.
Our hosts had to leave due to a death in the family but they made sure we had everything we needed during our stay and gave us a local contact, as well as being available for our calls if needed. Fortunately they have thoughtfully provided everything we could need.
I can't say enough positive about the home and the hosts. Please do yourselves and your vacation a favor and book this home!
