Great location, lovely and close to Peddars Way footpath. You can get to the beach in about 45 minutes on foot. Food was really good, we had dinner and breakfast.
The staffing and service could have been better and the girl who served breakfast was disinterested, on the point of being a little bit surly. This sort of thing should be addressed as it spoils an otherwise great pub.
4.5
Great location. Delicious breakfasts. Friendly staff. Easy access to the delightful coastline of North Norfolk and the delights of Burnham Market
No soap! When we asked we were told to use shampoo as it was also a body wash. This is not what it said on the dispenser and the maker's company website showed that they made a separate body wash. We heard other guests being given the same wacky advice!
We couldn't work the TV and nor could the helpful young lad behind the bar who tried. Really complex system, basic channels not available although listed and other channels password protected. KISS.
These are really basic things and easy to get right. A non slip mat in the shower would be good - they are about £2.50 in Tesco.
On checkout found that a number of drinks etc had been added to our bill for an evening when we were out. No problem getting them taken off but again shows lack of attention to detail.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Delicious food.

A great location for exploring North Norfolk. This was our third stay in the spacious and comfortable upper floor room with en-suite at the Hero. Staff members are always welcoming and friendly. We will be back!
Nothing!

Really friendly & helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you. Particularly the assistant manager - a very warm & friendly welcome - we have stayed in many places but thought the service he gave us was exceptional.
Lovely, really spacious room, comfortable bed & nice luxury touches like feather duvet & pillows.
Excellent meal in the restaurant. Great quality food, cooked really well & generous portions. Also great breakfast!
All in all, a very pleasurable stay & we shall look forward to returning!
Nothing really but if being picky - would be nice to have semi skimmed milk available not just whole milk.
4.5
Lovely stay in a small but lovely room. We ate dinner and breakfast at The Hero; both were lovely and worth a visit even without a stay.
Plenty of complimentary teas and coffee in the room. Room and en suite were comfortable and clean.
The room was very warm!
4.5
Cosy room, delightful pub/restaurant and lovely staff. Perfect stay.
The first night our room was too hot but we couldn’t get to the thermostat (it was locked away) so that was a bit annoying

We loved our attic room with a sea view. The pub was so cosy and welcoming and we had one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Fantastic staff and impeccable service. We will be back!
We would have liked to have stayed longer so perhaps a later check out.
4.5
Comfortable bed and nice room, great shower with lots of hot water. Breakfasts were excellent.
Table service only in pub even if we just wanted a pint after a walk!

Very comfortable, very clean. Nice people, can’t really fault it.
It was all good

Wonderful friendly staff. Jo, Ruby, Barnsey and Connor were good fun. A great team working together. Amazing food. Fish and chips (haddock) was delicious. Batter was superb. Outstanding full English breakfast. Room clean. Bed very comfortable.
Stay was too short!

The staff could not have been more helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast was exceptional and the bar and restaurant were very relaxed. The location could not be better.
The shower in the bedroom was 'gross'! Mould on the tiles and generally in need of a good clean. Cleanliness throughout the room was poor. The rooms definitely need an upgrade.

The room and bed very comfortable. Shower excellent.
Location very good. Parking easy.

Room was very good, spacious, clean, well-equipped, quiet
Good coffee in room
Big nice bathroom
Safe space to lock up bikes
It was described as "sea view" which is really pushing it - the sea was a mile away - you had a tiny bit of a view down a lane towards the sea from one window
On booking.com it said checkout was 10:30 but when we arrived we were told it was 10am which was tight as breakfast was only served from 8:30 or 8:45 ish - although we were not under great pressure leaving at 10:15
It was £200 which was expensive for what we got - £150 would have been fair value

Situation near coast with walks from the hotel. Good food for dinner and breakfast.Friendly staff. Lively restaurant and bar.
Room was a little small, but had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
4.5
Great location to explore on foot, by car and by bus. Very hospitable staff team.
Comfortable bed and daily housekeeping to suit our needs.
Great atmosphere at pub for food and drinks which were delicious.
Not enough space for parking near accommodation for all guests.
Terrace outside room for pub guests meant noisy and not very private.
4.5
A very good location close to the coast and near to The Coast Path with good cycling options too. The staff were unfailingly helpful and welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were both very good.
A broken lock meant walking round the pub along the busy road to get to room, which was unfortunate (rainy night!) but presumably a temporary blip.

I stayed in for two nights. Location is wonderful, staff very friendly. Bed comfortable, plenty of pillows. Bathroom spacious
Very good restaurant and breakfast.
My room was not clean between my nights. I did not mind that the bed was not made, but I did struggle with the French press not being cleaned which meant that I needed to get rid of coffee remains and rinse it in the sink in the bathroom - not ideal.
I also had an early start before the breakfast hours, so I asked for a breakfast to go - I was made a cheese sandwich which was very basic - brown poor quality bread with grated cheddar, but nothing else in it. I have expected a tiny bit better breakfast for the price.
It would be also wonderful if the team invested in better quality bread - it would add to the overall offer as it is not a cheap place.
The shutters let a lot of light in and there aren't any curtains - I have forgotten my eye mask and could not sleep in the morning.

amazing location, the place itself was laid out well. food good and staff could not do enough.
We are going back !
there was not much to not dislike
4.5
The location onto coastbpath fantastic. Size of room was adequate.
The room needed a very good clean. Skirting boards filthy. Valance on bed looked like if hadn't been washed in months. The rubber seals and mastik in shower were disgusting.
4.5
The staff were fantastic and the food in the pub was excellent. The location is great for walking and the bus stop adjacent to the pub is very handy for exploring along the coast if you want to give the car a rest.
The room was cosy and is probably due an upgrade. But perfectly acceptable for a night or two for exploring the area.

we took along our very nervous dog and the staff were so kind and seated us in a quiet corner. they were so understanding and made our stay very enjoyable. they went above and beyond to facilitate us. the food was lovely, our room was warm and comfortable. The Hero’s location was perfect for exploring North Norfolk with Holkham Beach nearby, Wells next the sea, and National Trust Felbrigg Estate and Burnham Market. we intend to stay again in early December.
