Food was fantastic and the location absolutely beautiful. The hosts were really welcoming and Sean gave us some great recommendations for our trip! The house was lovely and quirky and we had it to ourselves.

This place was something special. It’s like I stepped into a dream.
There are shared bathrooms, which I knew going into it. Just something to be aware of.

The location and the house is something you dream about. Tucked away on a hill at the end of a pea-stone drive on the hill with every view of lush trees and garden. It's a rambling house with many large well-appointed rooms with places to sit and relax and enjoy the rich decor and history. The bedrooms are bright, beautifully decorated and the beds were super comfy. The owner, Sean, is very relaxed and friendly. Breakfast was simple and fresh. Highly recommended.

Finally, a bed and breakfast with a proper shower :)
If arriving from Glendalough, don't take Google's "most fuel efficient route". We ended up driving up and down the mountains and I'm pretty sure that whatever "effiency" we had with 6km shorter route was lost driving uphill several kilometers.

Beautiful lodge, welcoming and charming hosts.
Tasty breakfast in lovely company of other guests
Relaxing stay
Just note that the toilet and shower are shared rather than private, as this might not be for everyone

Wonderful location, very quiet & peacefull full private location. It was a trip back to past, when the house was built, like the owners explained. Very beautiful garden and accomodation, with private waterfall. We recomend to take the proposed dinner, we even had a private dinner. Very welcoming hosts. It was a very relaxing stay.
No comments, just be aware this location is in the middle of a very quiet location / forest / area, but this is part of the charm of this location.

Delicious dinner and breakfast. Beautiful old country home built as a hunting lodge and decorated in the best taste. We were starting our Wicklow Way walk from here, and were delighted with the place! The hosts are charming and go the extra mile for their guests.

Ballyteige Lodge is incredible from every aspect. The host Sean is absolutely fantastic - great conversation without being imposing, and nothing is too much trouble. The house, gardens and estate are also wonderful - there is a river with a natural pool that you can take a dip in if you are very brave! On request, dinner can be served to you in the dining room, overlooking the gardens, or tea and coffee in the conservatory - both absolutely delightful. The bedrooms are generously sized as are the beds. We will be back!
Nothing! Just as a warning to guests who haven't realised this is an old house not designed as a hotel, so don't expect every room to have it's own bathroom, just as it is stated on the website. Bathrooms are plenty though with no difficulties with access.

The hosts were absolutely lovely and very caring. Even though there was a miscommunication through booking.com regarding dinner, they created a lovely dinner on the spot.
The lodge itself is very clean and cozy.

It is a beautiful lodge with an amazing garden, in a very idyllic spot. I had wine in the conservatory in the evening and I felt like the Lady of the Manor! The host told me about a beautiful walk nearby and it was like a magical fairy land!
I had no idea how out of the way it was. I thought it was close to Glendalough, but with single track roads the distance felt much longer.

It was a very good breakfast in the Conservatory, looking over the lovely grounds. As well as cereals and fruit juice, there was the offer of scrambled egg.
Sean was extremely helpful in giving us suggestions for places to visit, especially when it was too wet to walk a long distance.
We did not dislike anything.

Beautiful house with gorgeous garden. The place definetively inspires to get creative. The Lodge is near to all the happening as glendalough park and dublin. Very friendly uncomplicated hosts with great cooking skills.

A romantic getaway tucked in the mountains of Ireland, Balleyteige Lodge was everything and more than my partner and I could have imagined. Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm fire and tour of the lodge followed by an absolutely incredible dinner—all locally sourced, too! We look forward to coming back.

Lovely hosts, who prepared excellent food for us (dinner and packed lunch, ordered beforehand). Beautiful house in a beautiful location, perfect stop along the Wicklow Way.
