Glendalough International Youth Hostel, eine Unterkunft für junge Reisende

Die Lage des Hostels ist gut, ruhig und Parkplätze sind vor dem Haus vorhanden.

Ich habe mich als "ältere" Alleinreisende im Hostel nicht willkommen gefühlt. Arrogante Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption.

Great location, too expensive

The location is great, right in the hills. Easy to get to laragh. The rooms were clean, shower eventually heated up.

The bed was close to €50 for one person for one night in a youth hostel. It's getting pretty pricey for what is just a dorm bed.

The place.

Very nice stay, overall very recemended. A littel but very much noise when you use the hot warter in the rooms( not good during the night) But a very good stay in nice surrundings!!

Superb

The personal was really helpfull and friendly. There is kitchen with everything you possibly need. The location is perfect.

The wi-fi was down (because of the weather, not so much a hostel mistake, just noting so you are prepared). Really noisy common rooms because of the school goups.

Comfortable place with beautiful surroundings!

Very nice staff, comfortable beds, warm shower, well located with beautiful surroundings!! A morning walk is really worth it. The kitchen has a lot of plates and tools, you can easily cook. There is a filter as well, for drinkable water.

It would be great if there was a 24h reception, as it is a bit far from everywhere else and sometimes travelers need to checkin or checkout earlier/later. That's just a suggestion, because there wasn't actually anything we didn't like.

Modest accommodation option

- Common areas suitable for large groups, with couches and boardgames - Self-use kitchen comes in handy - Perfect position for hiking or visiting Glendalough town

- The price-performance ratio is rather poor, especially compared to B&B options for a couple or a smaller group - 8 EUR extra is charged for breakfast

Perfect location for Glendalough if you are planning an active holiday.

It is right beside glendalough and has parking. Great place if you are planning few days of activities ie hiking, biking or running.

I thought it was pricey for a bed in 10 bed dorm (€45) and breakfast was too much €8. This should be free.

Disappointing

Good location.

The grounds and building were quite untidy with litter strewn around and gave a feeling that there wasnt much care or effort to keeping the place nice. The people working there tended to hang around by the door, smoking so the smell of stale smoke lingered into the hallway and lounge. The rooms were freezing cold and no heating was put on in any of the rooms even though we were told that it was suitable to stay with a 4month old baby.

What I'd expect for the price

The breakfast was very good. The beds were what I'd expect for what I paid for. The bathroom in the dorm could have been cleaner, but that may have been due to eight people being in the room. There could be more plugs in a room with ten beds, and secure lockers to keep things safe. I would also recommend bedside shelving, for things like phones or glasses to be held on overnight.

A good choice for visiting Glendalough

The hostel is in an absolutely beautiful location, there's plenty of parking and a kitchen for making food. It's a close walk to lots to see in the area and there was a wide range of ages and people staying.

The kitchen only had massive pots and tiny bowls but I had a good laugh with another guest trying to make our dinner. There are no plugs near the beds so I had to leave my phone and other tech charging on the other side of the room.

it was very peaceful and relaxing to visit and stay

the hostel was very clean and the staff where helpful and kind would stay again if working in that area, the Wicklow monitions and walking trails where calming and refreshing with free parking to guests,
