Over-all the accommodation worked well for us. There were some nice touches icluding welcoming flowers and cakes etc which were much appreciated. Everything we needed was there. However we felt that some maintenance was needed including
the table leg, dishwasher door and track and the property would benefit from some refreshing. Beds were all very comfortable.

Love this place. This is the second time I have held a business meeting here. The conference room is a great facility.

Nice property well away from the m...g crowd.
Small items which detracted. No Wi-fi. Handle to shower door missing. Shower door not in track. Booking impression was that the property was a 'one-off' - not one of a complex of 4 or 5 and each in multi occupation. Fortunate that there wasn't rain otherwise a wet walk to car parking area. Good dog walk to dispose of rubbish. No segregation of waste (Paper; glass; compostible etc.)

The property is in a beautiful and peaceful location. Having ensuite bathrooms in all of the bedrooms is a bonus. The spacious kitchen and dining area were perfect for our large group, as was the sitting room. Lovely walks around Upper and Lower Slaughter. Lots of places to eat in Stow-on-the Wold.
Thank you for a great stay!

This is a beautiful Cotswold home. With 8 bedrooms and bathrooms and a huge table to accommodate us all it was perfect for our 3 generation family group of 16. Tastefully furnished and decorated also we all enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong, badminton etc. Thank you

It was a really great property and suited our needs well. We were looking for a base in the Cotswolds for 5 families to meet up with 10 adults, 7 children and a dog. The house met our needs with the right configuration of beds and large communal spaces.
The property was clean and had lots of bathrooms. I hadn't fully appreciated that there were 3 different part to the upstairs and each section is accessed from a different staircase.
We arrived to supplies of tea coffee, milk, delicious fresh bread, butter and mini sweet treats! It was a great welcome. The house was well supplied with toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets but given that the house is reasonably well equipped I was surprised to find no tin foil etc.
Although a great house, it is worth noting is is a bit tired. The sofa's are well past their best, the beds were fine but not comfy.
We loved the outdoor spaces with tennis court, badminton barn and games room.
As others have said the WiFi is not good. Particularly in the lounge. We got better WiFi for us to use Netflix etc on the TV in the kitchen but there isn't enough comfy seating there to actually make use of it.
All in all this house was a great find and we would definitely use it again for a short break to meet up with friends.

The property is set in a small court yard with closed in garden which leads on to an open field to the side of the property.
On arrival we entered in to a wonderful open plan kitchen and dinning area. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and we were welcomed with fresh roses on the table , fresh milk, tea, coffee and sugar .
The house is like a Tardis, exploring the bedrooms, en-suites , with an additional smaller kitchen and cosy living room.
Kids had a great time playing hide and seek.
All Bedrooms were spacious , with additional mattresses and bedding if needed.
The kids enjoyed the games room and running around in the fresh air.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay and would definitely come back.

In need of some modernisation; parts were poorly decorated, very poor carpeting in 'linking' corridor; dirty unusable BBQ; flawed double-glazed windows in the kitchen; perhaps some loungers for the garden; at least two showerheads needed fixing; unfortunately the garden access was through a bedroom. However, a very spacious property; great views; a fine kitchen; and good parking. Five-star price with a four-star rating.

Amazing
The pictures don't do it justice. The property is huge, very peaceful, with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. I didn't want to leave.

Large, well-appointed house for gathering of family or friends
This is a very impressive property within a complex of converted farm houses, set in beautiful Cotswold countryside. We were 8 couples, and each of us had separate on suite double / twin bedrooms. The largest kitchen (there are two) was excellent with a huge long table that we all sat at comfortably. The kitchen has all been newly put in - and the utensils and crockery were all new and fine. There was a problem that one of the plugs in the kitchen kept tripping the fuse box - but we reported that to the owner.
Pros: lots of space for a large gathering, new kitchen with underfloor heated tiles, huge dining table that we could all sit at together, warm property, good games room across the courtyard with table tennis table, 6ft snooker table (doesn't run completely true...) and table football table, outdoors tennis court and a badminton court in a large sheltered barn. All bedrooms en suite. Towels provided. Residence is actually two houses joined together with an indoors connecting corridor - gives the impression of loads of space and the added benefit of two kitchens. The vrbo booking / planning / notification system worked well.
Cons: kitchen plug kept tripping the fuse box. No brush available to sweep the floor at the end (or is that a pro??). First two will be hopefully sorted quickly by the owner. Only standard electrical showers which weren't too powerful. Snooker table only 'adequate'. No music system - bring your own!
Overall a great find and we'll be back again next year!

Family retirement get together!
Property was ideal for the thirteen of us! Plenty of room for the adults and children, inside and out! Well placed for getting out and about. We all had a brilliant time!

Large family group
Super space for 15 adults of all ages to meet up and spend time together. Rooms large enough for a big group, bathrooms and bedrooms were well appointed and spacious. Slight niggle was the very poor water pressure and that the shower head in the bathroom with the bath didn’t work at all. All in all, a good stay.

Great place for a big group
Lovely place with lots of room only slight criticism is that it is surrounded by other rentals and photos make it look as if it is on its own. No real problem as lots of room.

Lovely, large cottage in beautiful surroundings
We booked this cottage to celebrate a 50th birthday with family, there was 15 in our group and the cottage was plenty big enough to cater for all of us, all the bedrooms and bathrooms were light and spacious, the lounge area had plenty of sofas for us all to relax and the dining table was perfect for us all to sit together. The only negative was the cooker, although there were 2 kitchens which we used, the cooker in the main kitchen where the dining table is should be a double oven or even a range as it’s just not suitable to cook for that amount of people, also there is no light above the oven and it was quite dark ( we had to use a torch!) there were plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. Another little niggle would be the lack of WiFi in the lounge, not great if you wanted to watch Netflix. Overall we had a lovely stay at Stanway house and would definitely book again.

Mums 60th birthday
Great communication. Fantastic for a large family group for dinner and outdoor bbqs. Fixtures are of good quality but fittings need a little bit of work to get to the high standard this property deserves including the shower water pressure. Lovely outdoor area, good bbqs and a cricket pitch beyond the garden in the shared field. Thanks for a lovely stay. The early check in was greatly appreciated!

The house is the perfect size for a large group in a lovely location. We were 15 and always felt that there was plenty of room for everyone, including 2 dogs. We really liked the quirky configuration of all of the rooms. The games room is great too.We did have a few issues. The dishwashers didn't work well. I unblocked the filter on one but couldn't face the other. In a large group you want them to work, so they need proper cleaning regularly. Some of the showers wouldn't run at an even temperature, alternating from boiling hot to freezing cold whatever the setting . We managed because we didn't want to disrupt our weekend by trying to get them sorted out, but they need sorting for future guests. A larger microwave would be an asset and the fridges need replacing. Final moan is that we found dusty dirty underwear and socks in one of the bedroom drawers - more thorough cleaning definitely needed! All of the above is intended in good spirit for the comfort of future guests. We had a fabulous weekend and I would book again if the issues were dealt with!

Experience
The accommodation is ideal for a large group. Very spacious and ideal for children and dogs.
Beds were really comfortable and all linen clean and fresh.
The surrounding countryside is breathtaking and lots of places to visit.
The mai tenance of the property left a lot to be desired and the interior looked worn and shabby.
We arrived on Christmas eve to a cold cottage and it took a day to warm up which was due, in part, by ineffective storage heaters, some of which did not work and had Been substituted with electric convector heaters.
The were quite a few maintenance jobs that required attention, broken drawer in kitchen. Gaffer tape securing a loose carpet, toaster with only half elements working and half repaired hole in the lounge ceiling.
Such a shame because it is a really nice property in a fabulous part of the Cotswolds.

It was good but...
We had a lovely weekend with the whole family which included a meal prepared by a local caterer. The house is in a delightful area and the facilities on site are great for children. However the property needs some money spending on it: it's tired and in requires some TLC

a good place for for a biggish family party
Owners very helpful with our influx of visitors midstay.
There were a few issues with bulbs, switches, etc not functioning but not enough to spoil our weekend. Games room appreciated by youngsters.

Family occasion
Hired property for 3 days for a family birthday celebration . 9 adults 5 children.
Sunny weekend so spent most of the daytimes outside . Amazing views over quiet countryside.
Children and Adults loved the games room and tennis court.
Inside the property could benefit from a upgrade on facilities and lounge furniture.
Wi fi poor.

Family Get together
This is the perfect property for families - we were a mixture of 5 families and the room set up worked brilliantly for us. My only negative comment is that the house is in need of a little updating, it does look a little tired in some places. There were a few issues with lights and in some cases, lack of lightbulbs!. Having said that the views + games room for the kids more than made up for this. Thanks

A great space for a family celebration.
Very good property for a large family gathering. Fun activities with the games room , tennis court and lots of space.
The decoration and facilities need a little TLC but serviceable.
Washing machine in lounge end of cottage was not connected properly under the sink and resulted in a leak.
Access into the property was difficult for our older member of the family, steep two steps and very chunky gravel.
Over all we all had a fantastic weekend.

Great for family get together!
Ideal for family holiday in a lovely area. Plenty of games area outside and in a games room. Although there are several holiday homes on site, they are all very private. Adults and children throughly enjoyed the stay.

Great location, set in the middle of the countryside, albeit only a few miles away from Stow.
There were 15 x adults and 3 x youg children, so the house size was just perfect. The 2 x big rooms (dining room & lounge) were ideal for socialising, the house never felt overcrowded. The owners were very friendly and accomodating. Great time was had by all.

We had a very successful and enjoyable family weekend
The property was great in as much as very spacious. The two kitchens were useful, fully equipped with good quality, large saucepans etc. Very large dining table which was great. The open staircases were a challenge with toddlers. We did request two stair gates, and were given one, which was broken. The siarcase with a small twin room didn’t have a light, which was quite dangerous. It was a lovely house in a beautiful setting, plenty of outdoor space and close to Stow on the Wold. Would recommend it for a short stay.

Absolutely fabulous !
I can’t praise this house and its surroundings highly enough. It’s immaculate , comfortable and delightfully furnished. We decided to have a family get together to celebrate many birthdays, anniversaries and significant milestones. . There were 10 adults, 8 children (between the ages of 3 and 14). and one spaniel who loved running around the field. There was ample room for all of us. The games room was a favourite with the children. The views are delightful. We will return and make it an annual event and recommend it to friends. Many thank to the owners for a memorable visit.

Very well equipped, comfortable cottage.
10 adults & 8 children (under 9) had a wonderful stay in Stanway House. The house is ideal for large groups & the extensive green areas & leisure facilities added to our enjoyment. The only problem was the stoney paths which made it difficult for the wheelchair bound member of our party to get around outside.

Good
There is little doubt that the unseasonal cold weather affected our first 24 hours in that the type of heating once off could not respond to our needs. It was cold in the house. We have experienced similar before but the availability of eg wood burning stoves off set this.
We did not appreciate that the lounge area was so separated from the kitchen area. The obviously broken towel rail in the downstairs bedroom by the kitchen was annoying as was the shower in that ensuite which must have been fitted by a tall plumber! It would be helpful to fit a hand rail in that shower too.
Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was furnished adequately. A blocked shower drain was attended to immediately.
Thankyou we had a good time.
