About this apartment rental

Oceanfront, first floor condo with private walkway to the beach. Our cozy condo offers 2 bedrooms/ 2 baths and has everything you will need for a perfect vacation getaway.
* 2 parking spaces are located in the gravel parking area.
*Pets are allowed with a pet fee- $125 non-refundable pet fee for one dog and a $200 non-refundable pet fee for two dogs.
(Must message me before booking to confirm it is okay you bring your pet)
*Linens are NOW PROVIDED

Just steps to the beach through your own private walkway. The Mermaids Retreat is located approximately 15-20 walking distance to the pier and only about 5-10 minutes from the boardwalk. The condo features two bedrooms with one queen sized bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin sized beds in the second bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen and washer & dryer available. Private parking.

Other things to note:
Pet Policy: • Two pet maximum ($125 non-refundable pet fee for one dog, $200 non-refundable pet fee for two dogs) • Under 50lbs • Crate trained/crated when you are not with them • House trained • Please no pets on the furniture
*** If pets are allowed on furniture and pet hair is found all over furniture, you will not receive your security deposit back (security deposit is refundable, the pet fee is not). Wonderful accommodations. The only complaint was the cleaning crew did a horrible job cleaning prior to our arrival. I had to sweep the floors even.... Otherwise, the place was nice and just what we needed. I only complain about the cleanliness or lack thereof, because I hate to think they are probably paying a pretty penny for the service.

We very much enjoyed our stay! The apartment had such a wonderful beachy cottage feel! It was a very short walk to the beach. We could site on the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean!

I stay in this general area every year and it's a great area. Within walking distance to the boardwalk, restaurants, etc. Room was very clean and neat, easy check in. Highly recommended!

The location of the condo is great you have access to the beach within a few feet. You can walk or rent a golf cart to zoom around!!! Plenty of places to eat and shop !!!

The location was great property was ok the water in the showers did not get very hot they were warm the most , my mom actually fell in the garage area when it was wet and my dad slid another time , the patio door was hard to open and close but the over all stay like I said was good .

Mermaids retreat was perfect for our long weekend getaway. Right on the beach. Hearing the waves right outside your door. Space was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Everything we needed for the two of us and most importantly we were able to bring our dog.

The gorgeous Fall Carolina weather only added to our first stay at Mermaids Retreat! The first floor condo was perfect for a pleasant ocean breeze and the large deck allowed our dog to enjoy it too! Condo was nicely decorated and all needed items easy to find.

Excellent location in Carolina Beach. Walking distance to the boardwalk, biking distance to the pier. Comfortable accommodations. Alana was easy to communicate with as needed. The unit could use some updating but other than that no complaints!

Steps from the beach! Our dog and I walked a couple of miles on the beach each day. Clean white sand and awesome views from the balcony. Also, the breeze was nice and cool.My husband loved the area as well. His only drawback was his spinal stenosis, which makes it hard to walk. We look forward to being there again.

Everything was great! Property is very clean and pictures are accurate. Plenty of space for our family of four + one dog. Beach was clean and peaceful. Was super helpful to have locking outdoor closet for chairs and other sandy items. Covered parking also a huge plus. Lots of food options in walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Location is perfect and we walked mostly everywhere. Condo was clean and had what we needed. Plenty of linens which was a bonus. Some of the patio furniture needs replacing, old broken chairs on front and the lounger in the back but that’s an easy fix. Overall good Carolina beach condo. It works

Great little place on the beach for a getaway. Property was nice and up to date. The views were grand! Very dog friendly inside with flooring and couch covers. 💕 Not sure if anything can be done but there isn’t very much dog friendly space outside given the beach isn’t accessible to 4 legged friends from 9am-5pm.

Our family enjoyed this property and Alana was wonderful to work with. The only reason for the “4” is we had some unwanted visitors in the form of mice, however Alana acted upon this quickly by calling an exterminator and having the condo cleaned again. It was inconvenient and required some diligence on our part to keep clean but we feel sure the situation has been remedied for future guests.

The condo was very clean and fully stocked! Washer and dryer was so useful. We loved being oceanfront and also so close to everything. When staying here, you pretty much just need your clothes, food and your pet!!! We love that it is pet friendly! The communication with the hosts was great!

This is a well equipped little ocean front condo. (You cannot see the beach because of the dunes) it is in a great location. It’s within walking distance to all of the beachfront bars and restaurants. It was great not having to worry about transportation while we were there. My only complaint is the beds. They are thin and hard. I’d highly recommended bringing mattress toppers with you for your stay.

loved sitting on your balcony looking at the beach and watching the shrimp boats. The location was easy to get around to many other spots and central. Property was clean. Inside, the couch and loveseat were not comfortable and had seen better days, which made TV viewing at night uncomfortable. We appreciated the washer/dryer. Communication with Owner was prompt, helpful and courteous.

Alana was vey helpful when I had questions before booking and during the process as I had never rented a Verbo property before. The beds were very comfortable, as was the living room furniture and deck furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our dog loved the front and back deck, looking at other dogs and people passing by. The only problem was she is used to walking in green grass and there is little of that in the area without driving to the state park or lakes. It’s nice being allowed to take your dog on the beach, but it had to be before nine a.m. or after five p.m. Carolina Beach is a great location, dog friendly, and a short drive to Wilmington, Kure Beach, Fort Fisher and the very nice aquarium.

My dad has a bad back and I’m pretty healthy, but by the end of the three nights my back was terrible. For the amount of money I assume is being made by the owner I would think they could afford better mattresses. Literally the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. The owner also requested we wash the bedspreads before we leave which to me seems odd since I paid a cleaning fee.
