The location and view are amazing from this property, easily exceeded expectations. Upon arrival there were a few cleanliness issues that we were formed the company about. This place is really spectacular, however some maintenance is needed but it a major issue)

Great stay for my family. We even saw a momma bear and 3 cubs off the deck. Highly recommend staying here.

Very nice property with spectacular views
and a short drive to everything in Asheville. Home was spacious, well appointed and the perfect place for a getaway with our grown children.

All the great reviews are right BUT this house can be a little noisy! When you're in the upper level bedrooms with the (hollow) doors closed, you can hear every conversation from the living room downstairs as well as noises from the kitchen. When you're in the living room, you can hear almost every sound from the upstairs bedrooms and shared bathroom. Other than that, we really enjoyed this beautiful, thoughtfully furnished, well-equipped home. And yes, we did see a mama bear and her cubs on Black Rock Drive as we left the house one morning.

We loved our stay at this gorgeous house. There were 7 of us - we parents, our 3 adult children, our daughter-in- law, and our toddler granddaughter. We came from Massachusetts, Virginia, and South Carolina to spend a few days together in a neutral location with plenty to do for fun. We all loved being up on a hill and weren’t scared off by the steep driveway. The bedroom situation worked perfectly for us and everyone was comfortable. The house layout is excellent, with plenty of room everywhere, including the wonderful porch. We would absolutely stay here again if we return as a group to Asheville.

We really enjoyed our long weekend here. I traveled with my husband, daughter, and our parents, and we all felt like we had plenty of space to hang out together and also do our own thing! The home is so beautiful and view incredible! We found the check-in process and overall communication really clear and helpful. The driveway is very steep, but once you reach the top, the view is definitely worth it!

Wonderful house at the top of a hill. Spectacular views and very private except for the wildlife that were everywhere.
Great communication and responsiveness with management. No complaints, would easily return here.

Beautiful home at the TOP of a mountain near downtown Asheville. Great views with plenty of room for our family of 5. Our kids wished they would have brought a couple of friends because there was plenty of room in the lower level/basement.

A very nice house secluded at the top of a hill. Great views from the covered porch. Very clean, with comfortable furnishings and beds. It is a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Asheville. We would definitely stay here again.

Wow, this house was spectacular. Perfect for a girls weekend in Asheville. The view was amazing, the house a generous size (while still feeling cozy) with lovely bedrooms (comfy beds!), bathrooms (huge showers!) and kitchen (open concept main floor, with views to die for). Close to town while still feeling secluded. Hosts were communicative and available promptly. Honestly, photos don't do this house justice. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had an amazing time at this property. The house is just as pictured. It was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The downstairs with the extra bed and couch allowed us to spread out when we wanted the space. The deck had amazing views. The driveway is a little steep but we got used to it and loved being in the mountains and it was only a short 15 minute drive to downtown. You can tell the owners put a lot of love and care into their home. We would definitely stay here again.

We came to relax and enjoy Asheville for the first time. This house is so well appointed. The deck was a great place to start and end the day. The view from the house was just what we all needed. The furnishings were beyond rental quality, felt like we were in a luxury home. We would rent this place again and again.

My husband and I loved our stay at Black Oak!! It was a beautiful, very well appointed home in a very peaceful location. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the birds while drinking our morning coffee. Cooking meals in the well organized kitchen and watching the local wildlife such as the female turkey that would call out in the evenings when it was time to roost and then wonder the flower beds during the day. The deer that came looking for fresh flowers to munch. The very large rat snake (my least favorite ;) that enjoyed sunning itself on the steep embankment and even a neighborhood black bear that must have smelled breakfast being made and was hoping for a handout. This was a home that we definitely look forward to returning to!!!
Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!!

We absolutely loved our week in this amazing house. It was beautifully furnished and very clean. The view is breathtaking and absolutely amazing everyday. Nothing disappointed in this house. The location is quiet and peaceful. The drive up the mountain was out of this world for this Florida family, and the actual driveway for sure is steep. After the first couple of drives you’ll become a pro. We made it up in our mini van- but it’s was hairy the first time. :)
Love it. Loved our stay. Loved our visit.

Our family all met in Asheville for Thanksgiving. The house is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Deck and Views are incredible. House is very comfortable with a great open living room and kitchen. Bedrooms were spacious for our family 6 adults. The is in perfect condition. Great location in quiet neighborhood but close enough to explore downtown Asheville which is great,

Wonderful Home - Beautiful views
We had a fabulous time during our vacation stay here. Beautiful views, fantastic home, easy to find. While steep, the drive up the mountain was easy.
There was a problem with the home security system, however, that was not rectified during our stay. System kept beeping in the middle of the night, waking everyone up. Property manager didnt' seem to see the importance of it. Maintenance guy could not replicate the problem, so it just kept beeping every 3 hours -in the middle of the night. Other than that, the stay was nice.

Great mountain place, close to town
We loved our stay at the house. It's a beautiful well equipped home, with comfortable beds and furniture, a great kitchen and nice hangout areas. It has a huge deck with a great view.
It's about 15 minutes outside Asheville in a very quiet location. There are a number of supermarkets within 5-10 minutes. There were also some nice hiking trails that we could walk to directly from the house (walk up the hill behind the house to the adjacent community and you can enter a local trail system that's pretty nice). The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 15 mins away.
As others have mentioned, the road up to the house is very steep and the final 100 feet to the house are super steep. We didn't have any issues even with a big SUV, but initially it was eye opening!
Bottom line - we loved it and would easily stay here again.

Enjoyable long weekend!
Large, modern and updated mountainside retreat. Views from the deck were great (though weather did not allow us to enjoy them as much!). Kitchenware was the best our group has ever experienced. Within reasonable driving time (10-15 min) of downtown AVL

Spring Break
Property was perfect for our family of 6. The view is spectacular and the property was just as represented. It's in a beautiful neighborhood high in the hills. We enjoyed taking walks and short hikes from the property. Just a short trip into town so the best of both worlds.

Solitude & City
Wonderful location with sweeping views of the mountains and downtown. Location feels like you are in a mountain getaway, but all the conveniences and activity of downtown are 15min away.

Lovely Home
We had a very nice time staying in the home. It was comfortable and fairly convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Most amenities were there for us, although some were limited in quantity. It’s a very steep drive to the home, but the views from the top are the reward. Overall it was very nice.
