Good location and on site parking. Comfy bed and excellent breakfast.
We felt like we were in a basement. The room was dark. The room had a fire door as its main window and a small high up windown. The window tilted open approximately an inch so little air was let in. When we stayed the weather was very hot and sunny but we did not have a nice view or window as such to open wide to let in fresh air. At least the room had a ceiling fan. The fire door had steps outside which appeared to lead to an alleyway. Directly opposite was a building with windows looking into our room. The room was dark but because of being over looked we felt we had to keep the door shut and curtains drawn for privacy which meant no natural light. We asked to move rooms but was told the hotel was fully booked but if they had a cancellation they would let us know. If that was the case why couldn't we be moved and the next people being booked in given our room? We checked in on Thursday and stayed until Monday. The room had no fridge which would have been handy, especially with the hot weather.

Great if crossing with The Red Fennel ferry, only 20 minutes drive from East Cowes harbour and convenient free parking on the front on the hotel. A 24hrs reception (best to arrive before 11pm nevertheless) therefore allows guests to take cheaper and less busy later evening crossings. Reasonably sized bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms , nicer if seaview is not just partial. Lovely served breakfast in the front restaurant and quite knowledgeable reception staff with local information. The staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel decided to charge £10 on my card two days before my arrival without my knowledge but still made.me pay the full room price on departure despite my account showing the previous deposit payment debited. It took 4 phone calls and intervention of the reception manager for the full refund to finally get credited onto my account a week later.
My bedroom was facing mostly roofs from other part of the hotel and only a very small show of the seafront despite having booked a seaview bedroom. The shower only had two water temperature setting which were quite warm and extremely hot, rather difficult for a safe shower and hair wash.

Great location, staff helpful. Rooms comfortable & clean.
Don't stay in Room 19 if there is a disco (wedding party) . I was warned & didn't move as paid for sea view, big mistake as room rocking until midnight, didn't expect it to be SO loud. Room also had a stale aroma coming from bathroom. Had room 16 on second night much better

The situation
The room had frosted windows so felt closed in. The nursing home next door had staff arriving 7.30 and sat next to our room talking very loud waking us up.
No air con so had to have windows open .
Main fault the towels stank of comfort and because they were over conditioned they did not absorb water.
A lick of paint on woodwork, door etc needed
4.3
good location
room was rear facing and poorly lit plus directly above a wedding reception which I was only told about after making a non-refundable booking - very tired hotel desperately in need of a revamp

The view, the friendly staff and the location were very good. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food but it seemed to be a popular place to eat.
The towels were not as absorbent as we would have liked. Also, the heated towel rail was off and we couldn’t find how to turn it on so that the towels would dry between use.

Lovely little hotel, great location!

The staff were friendly and did everything to accommodate us. They were lovely with our dog and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
There was nothing negative at all.
4.3
Great service and very friendly staff. Excellent restaurant and good beer, incl. local Ale. Good choice of breakfast with cooked breakfast made fresh for a small extra charge rather than from a buffet.
4.3
The location was perfect for our trip. the views were amazing. The hotel staff were very accommodating from the reception to the restaurant/bar staff and cleaning staff.
The only criticism was my room was warm at night, there was a ceiling fan but sleeping was a little uncomfortable.

Great hot food, fantastic location
Nothing, enjoyed everything about this hotel

Loved the location, great size room, good views.grezt breakfast, and the fact our dog could be with us for mealtimes.
No fridge, and I didn't realise that the suite was offset from the two deluxe rooms.

location and staff were great. Very dog friendly.
Our room was a bit on the small side.

Reception was knowledgeable and friendly. Waiting staff were polite, well dressed and efficient.
There was nothing I didn't like.

location
we only had small luggage bags, but with a suitcase would prefer a lift.
4.3
Location was great, close to Cowes town centre. Hotel has a pleasant feeling with welcoming staff and a clean environment.
My suite supposedly had a sea view. This was via a window that was offset to one side of the room and facing the opposite way to the bed. It felt like a bit of a stretch. To call it a 'sea view' room is a misleading. It appears that the standard rooms at the front of the hotel had a far better sea view.
4.3
very comfortable room had everything we needed and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and service was quick.
Nothing

Splendid but we eat very little for breakfast.
Like so many hotels we have stayed in over many years, the FLIMSY standard of toilet roll needs a vast improvement. I know using cheap flimsy toilet roll helps owners to keep direct costs down, but it is false economy as a lot more paper is used. Far better for your image to install quality toilet roll like quilted cushelle or Andrew and you will have many more happy guest bottoms!!!

Outside seating area allowed us to enjoy sea views. Excellent wait staff and meal service. Staff recognised birthday with card.
Difficult to get heavy luggage up steps in front of building and to second floor, a lift would be nice!
