Amazing private beach with attentive staff who go above and beyond to make your stay perfect.
5.0 / 5.0
Had a great stay at Casa de la Playa with our family...from my mom in her 70s to my kids age 17-24 to my sister's kids age 1-4...it was a perfect spot! (Lots of steps tho.)
This was our first trip to Isla so we had no idea what we were looking for & feel lucky we ended up here! Now we know that the wide, white sand beach with roped off swimming area, shallow water & gentle waves right in the backyard is RARE on the island! The amazing staff had umbrellas, beach chairs, beach toys, towels, a cooler & kayaks out for us everyday...clean & hassle free! Water was perfect for littles to swim...altho there is seaweed on the bottom after the first 15 ft (they have floats!)...and tons of iguanas to watch too! Enjoyed the outdoor dining table, hammocks and wide back porch as well.
The house is big, rooms are spacious, multiple living areas, big kitchen, separate bathroom for each bedroom (no a/c in baths tho). Bedrooms stay pretty cool with a/c units & doors kept closed but a/c units in rest of the house struggle to keep up in summer & rooms stay pretty warm. We tried opening all the doors in the living areas but it was just too hot & no breeze while we were there...
We rented golf carts to get around...a must as there is not much within walking distance but everything is pretty close via golf cart...restaurants, groceries & downtown!
Highly recommend Cati, the chef, to cook for you...such good Mexican food & so lovely...we had 2 dinners & 3 breakfasts and wish we'd planned more!

We had a wonderful time. The pictures were accurate. The setting was wonderful, quiet and beautiful.
The onsite staff did a great job with all the details both for a beach party and a private dinner.

This is our 2nd trip to Casa De La Playa. As before customer service was unprecedented. The beach is raked every morning before sunrise, any laundry on the floor washed and folded that day. Lots of attention to detail. My son even found an empty conch shell and Carlos cleaned and polished for us. The neighborhood is quiet and we always felt safe. Especially with Timoteo staying next door. Guac and pico on the beach each day. Full cooler with your beer/pop as well. Carlos even ran to the grocery store for us to restock our supplies. They try hard to make sure you can just relax. Need a taxi or a golf cart?? They are right there to get them. A/c in each room kept our bedrooms cool. The entire trip was perfect.

The property is fantastic and the beach and amenities are incredible. I have rented 3 different properties in the area and this is the best one on the island. Carlos and his staff are amazing and do everything in their power to make your stay the perfect vacation. We also hired Cati, the chef, and she was fantastic. We were able to eat the best food on the island, have Carlos and the staff take care of our needs, and enjoy a beautiful house with a one-of-a-kind beach. We will go back and visit again. Thanks for making our stay an incredible experience.

Everything was absolutely perfect from the minute we were in Isla until we left. I only have amazing things to say about the entire trip!!!

Step out the back door and onto your own BEAUTIFUL private beach. This is the reason to get this house. I have stayed at another beautiful house closer to the point but it was a climb down 200 stairs and the beach was rocky. This beach made the house worth it. Absolutely magical.
Location is good, this is in sac baja and it's definitely the slowest and calmest part of the island. I'd say renting a golf cart is necessary as taking a cab would have been a headache.
Carlos is amazing. He was always nearby watching and ready to rush out to help with anything we could have desired. One time he saw me pulling the kayak and he sprinted over so he could drag it up himself. Another time I asked for a machete to cut open some coconuts and he let me do one but quickly insisted he do one for every one in our group.
The chef was amazing. She cooked us a 5 course meal on our arrival day and I also hired the bartender who brought us fresh drinks on the beach. Both were well worth it.
Any laundry we left on the floor was magically collected and folded each day when we returned.
There was an odor in the master bathroom. This never fully went away but did get less offensive as time went on.
The windows are not actually windows but openable wooden slats. This makes it hard for the ac units to keep up and get it really cold. I'd say it would get down to 74 or so but as a Texas who keeps his house at 71 at night it was not quite as pleasant as I had hoped. That was disapoi

We had a great vacation! Carlo Chef Kathy Ramon Umberto and Mateo were terrific! Everything was taken care of by them. We recommend a Casa de la Playa for anyone who wants a true get away vacation. The beach and sane were perfect. A nice little cabana bar is 50 yards from the front door. Sunsets are amazing! The staff were so helpful. Carlos was super helpful with everything we needed! I highly recommend Chef Kathy and Roberto …. The food was fabulous!

We (me and 10 other friends/immediate family) stayed at Casa De La Playa from February 21st, 2023 to February 28th, 2023. From the very first moment we were dropped off, to the very last moment, we were treated like royalty.
Our expectations were very high given the great photos of the property online and the reviews of the staff. I can genuinely say we were blown away by the care and attentiveness of Carlos and the rest of the staff. They always seemed to be present when needed, but never once did we feel like they were in our bubble. As the sun rose overhead, Carlos was always quick to move the umbrellas to ensure shade for whomever desired. If we needed ice or a quick grocery, they were quick to go and get it for us. The rooms were always cleaned, but I never once knew when Jacquelyn was in there. My wife called all of them 'ninjas', because they got the work down to high satisfaction, but never interrupted our vacation to do so.
The beach (which is otherworldly) was raked every. single. day. before our 2 year old awoke. That was shocking. The property spans a very long ways and my and my children loved going for walks in the grass and finding as many Iguanas as possible. The iguanas were one of the surprises for us, but a welcome sight every afternoon and many mornings. We counted as many as 11 one day...but they never intruded or bothered us...
I could write for hours about how much we loved this stay, but I'm out of room. A+++ stay, top to bottom!

This house was absolutely perfect for our holiday family vacation. The tip that we got to arrange for a private boat to cross from Cancun to the island instead of taking the public ferry was the best thing we did. We used Isla Fun Tours and they dropped off/picked us up in front of the house in the marina. The staff Carlos, Ramon, and Jacquline really went our of their way to make our stay as relaxing stress free as possible. Carlos and Ramon were able to bring out a volleyball court for along the beach and went out of their way to go get us a volleyball -- we had daily volleyball tournaments, while enjoying the beautiful beach. Carlos even helped us plan a relaxing spa day on our final day and we had a lovely bonfire to close out our trip.
We have stayed on the island before but this place was absolutely amazing and I know that if we ever came back, we would definitely stay here!

Words cannot describe how great this property was for our family. Carlos and the rest of the staff were fantastic! The beach was bigger and better than any of the resorts on that side of the island. Everything was perfect for our family which included four little ones under the age of five. We will definitely be coming back!

Stop looking…this is the Place
The house is amazing and away from the hustle and bustle of the north part of the island. You have your own private beach in the middle of the island, and it is the only house that has this. It’s turtle nesting season right now (July), and sea turtles nested on the beach at night during our stay. We even got to see little hatchling tracks into the ocean every morning. The house provides beach toys and floats and kayaks, sun umbrellas are opened and the beach is raked (while being very careful around the turtle nests) before sun up, and umbrellas are closed at sunset. Hire the chef for lunch and dinner (food is delicious, plan your menu with her) at least one day early in your stay, and have some food to pick on the rest of the of your stay. The staff Carlos, Ramon, and Jacquline really go out of their way to make sure your stay is as relaxing as possible, and will help you wash clothes, dishes, and plan excursions.
Tip-arrange for a private boat to cross from Cancun to the island instead of taking the public ferry, and they can drop you off right in front of the house in the marina. We used Isla Fun Tours. Also, each bedroom has a mini split AC, so keep your doors closed to keep your room cool.
Absolutely loved, loved, loved our stay there.

Incredible family vacation
We had an amazing time celebrating our parents' retirement. There were 4 kids in our group all under the age of 6, the beach could not have been more perfect for us. Clear water, relatively shallow and gradual slope, very gentle waves, comfortable temperature, plenty of beach toys, totally private and protected. The house staff was wonderful, very kind and seemed genuinely interested in making us comfortable and happy.

The Most Amazing Vacation Ever!
This was a bachelor party for my best friend. I organized it. We had high expectations for our beachfront property on the island. Every minute of every moment exceeded those expectations. Prior to arrival, Diana was so responsive in organizing all of our travel plans and answering all of our questions. Once on the property, Carlos went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed without us having to lift a finger. Jet skis delivered to the house, In-House masseuse, chef cooking meals, campfire on the beach.. and everything else we wanted. This was the most luxurious trip from top to bottom.

Wonderful stay worth repeating
The house was perfect for our group of ten. Beautiful grounds and property with an expansive private beach and gorgeous views of the sunset. Excellent location on the quieter side of the island. Spacious and clean accommodations with a terrific staff who ensured our stay was as easy and relaxing as possible. We also highly recommend Dinnertainment by Javii's Cantina for in-house meals while at Casa de la Playa. Terrific experience overall and we can't wait to come back!

Exceeded every dream and desire!
Every aspect of our stay has been exceptional. From connecting with the owner, to communicating with chef Cathy and Carlos, everything was fantastic.
The property is very secluded, private and quiet. It was exactly what we were looking for. The house itself is unlike anything I’ve seen on Isla. We are so grateful and highly recommend this property!

Couldn’t be more pleased!
We had such an amazing time at this house! The beach was pristine, and the house is more beautiful than the pictures can show. The staff (Carlos, Ramon, and Jaquelin) went WAY above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and take care of us when we needed help. I can’t recommend this experience more highly.
1.5 / 5.0
The power at the property went out two days in a row stayed off for about 8 hours each time, the property did not have a generator even though they knew was likely, when we talked to the property owner she said it was a government property not a house problem, needless to say, we were very disappointed we had a cater for the day of our anniversary, but we had to move the dinner to the resturant. I explained to the property owner that my husband had heart failure and couldn't be in the extreme heat, but it didn't make a difference, we moved to a hotel for the last two days of our vacation, we requested a refund, but our calls have not been returned

Loved the property. The most impressive housekeepers. They are so attentive, Carlos, Ramón and Jaqueline made us feel like royalty.

Great, again!
Great location, Great service. Carlos knows everyone and goes BEYOND to make you happy. Our dirty clothes would "disappear" and then return again clean and folded. (thank you Jaqueline) this is our 2nd time this year, 4th time in last 2 years.
Beach raked every morning, house "made up" every day including dishes and beds.
Can't ask for more.

Relaxed, Revitalized, and Spoiled
First impression upon arrival, "WOW! It's even better than we imagined..." There weren't many pictures, and the ones we saw did NOT do the property justice. Private, secluded, beautiful, and PERFECT! Not to mention, our own little entourage of iguanas! It was absolutely perfect, and we recommend the property to anyone looking for a private escape. Plenty of room for everyone, a private beach, and staff who is ready to help with anything and everything. ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND***

Awesome week!
We loved our week! Family gathered as we hadn’t all been together since pre-Covid. Carlos and crew were fantastic -making everything very special. They built us a bonfire one night, raked the beach daily and kept everything in order. We loved the kiyak and used it daily. The swan float was magical! The house was wonderful for the 12 of us! It is beautiful and the beach is so private. Some helpful suggestions for the owners: the rooms really do need a dresser and more beach towels would be good. We had problems with some of the appliances but Carlos came to the rescue. Our only real issue was the arrival at the airport. We waited to meet up and take vans to the ferry. One family in our group waited two hours . Most of us waited and waited and when we questioned why we waiting, we were told our van was on its way. It would have been FAR better if we had all been told to just taxi to the ferry and meet up there. What an absolute delight to see Carlos on the island side of the ferry, wisk us into cabs, take care of our luggage and get us to the house quickly.

Beautiful! Most amazing beach property on the island.
Fantastic experience. Great house, location, and staff. The most friendly and attentive house staff I’ve ever experienced. Everything was kept immaculate. The beach was raked smooth every night for the next day. The staff built bon fires at night on the home’s private beach. I would actually buy this place if the opportunity presents itself. Simply amazing! Gracias to all the staff that participated in making this experience one of a kind!

2nd stay at this property
We brought my sister and brother in law to this property for his 50th. They were VERY IMPRESSED. Carlos, Tel, Jacqueline & Ramon are just good people that have all the answers and are there to please. Carlos had a doctor there 3 days before we departed to give me a COVID test. It was easy and results emailed the next day.
Victor made snacks for us upon arrival, cooked us dinner and breakfast. You can't go wrong with Victor!
We will be back this year!

We would certainly come back. It was so nice knowing everyone's room was spectacular and we had our own private beach away from the crowd. True paradise

Let me start by saying that Diana is an amazing, patient, and responsive host. I asked a million questions and changed our dates a couple of times (our flights kept getting cancelled) and she handled all of it like a pro.The location of the Villa is great - it's secluded- we wanted to be able to get there and then distance from people. There are a couple of things you can walk to if you do want to go out to eat. The private beach was great, and they would clean the area up each day. I will say that there are a ton of mosquitos - but I can't fault anything but the environment for it. We did have bug problems in one of the bathrooms (and there were bugs in the house since all the downstairs doors were always open) but they were cleaned up and sprayed for upon request. The house looks like the pictures - the bedrooms are sparsely furnished, but they're good enough and the linens and the beds are great. There is one bedroom downstairs off the living room, four bedrooms upstairs, and one final bedroom alone on a third floor. They all have their own bathrooms. We did use the chef that everyone recommends in the reviews. We had a lot of communication problems up front and even during our stay, but the food was good and the chef is a different enterprise from the host so I don't want that to affect the review. We read about the bonfire in a few reviews and really wanted to do that, but it was never clear who to ask to make things like that happen. In any case, this is a safe paradise away from home, and a great, relaxing stay.

extraordinary stay
We (8 adults, 1 teen) just returned from a fantastic week at this property. We were originally supposed to go last spring, but due to Covid, we rescheduled for the week of Thanksgiving. The owner was fantastic about collaborating with us! We have been to Isla Mujeres over 12 times and have stayed someplace different each time. This was the first time we have stayed a week, and the first time we have stayed on this part of the island. Everything about it was great. The home itself is beautiful, well built, well located, clean and has both the ability to have private space and communal space. WiFi worked well as did the air conditioning. The beds were very comfortable. The caretakers, Carlos, Jaqueline and Ramone are wonderful. They keep everything spotless and beautiful and helped with everything we needed.
The Covid prevention procedures across the island are very well done, particularly by the locals. There were a few sightings of tourists that couldn't seem to manage the rules, but not many.
It is truly a fantastic property and we hope to go back!

Family ages 5-46
This place is incredible! Private/ quiet beach that is raked every morning. Did not wash one dish. Did not wash one piece of clothing. All was done by very polite and quiet staff. Ramon helped my kids with all the beach toys (full time job). Tel made sure the property looked as if it was always the first day arrival. Carlos made sure we knew how to get around Isla Mujeres. He is well connected. Jaqueline was amazing. She would come in and sweep/ mop/ clean kitchen when we were out of the house/ down on the beach. It was like she would snap her fingers and "normal house work" was accomplished. MY WIFE DID NOT LIFT A FINGER.
The house has plenty of room for 12 to not ever use the same bathroom. It's huge. Windows everywhere with constant breeze. Balconies galore. Huge porches. Although not cheap, the property is worth every penny.

WOW!
Wow - can I leave a 6 star rating? Our group could not have had a better experience. The house was beautiful and the private beach was amazing, however we all agreed that Carlos and his team were what pushed this location over the top. We brought a 10' tall 12 person Swan raft with us and had the box sitting outside on the patio. The next morning, the Swan was blown up and sitting on the beach ready to go. What service!
The only change we could recommend is that they add dressers or more shelves to the bedrooms as some of our couples had to live out of their suitcases for the week.

wonderful, great for group
6 women in 40-50’s were VERY well taken care of from the airport pickup to the drop off at the ferry. We had MORE then enough space. Went to the grocery store and cooked for ourselves which turned out wonderfully. Multiple places to eat together in the house. The staff is unbelievable, they anticipate what you want before you even know it. The beach is swimmable, fires in the evening were a lot of fun. We rented 2 golf carts to get around island, which I would encourage. Couldn’t say enough good about staff the comes with the house. If have any questions just ask Carlos. We felt very safe.

Amazing Property
We just got back last night from a family reunion at this property and I am please to report that everyone was incredibly impressed! The house is very large and it has the best private beach on the island. There are great restaurants and beach clubs nearby and we left for our snorkeling tour from the dock across the road. Carlos and his team went above and beyond in cleaning the place, the beach, our dishes, and even doing the laundry for one family's small children. Every request was met with a can do attitude. Highly recommend!
