Communication pre stay was easy, the location was beautiful and facilities excellent. Nice touches like easter eggs for the children and fresh flowers.
It smelled like wet dog on arrival, husband's dust allergy made him ill, spent 2 hours hoovering (emptied 4 times of dust and dog hair), got shouted at by owner for washing cushion covers due to allergy, felt very unwelcome. Ruined holiday. Got in trouble for having a local friend over for a cup of tea, one of her kids went into the barn next to house. Owner blamed my husband's allergies on this. No lock on side gate stopping children going into Barn and poor signage. Refused any compensation despite my husband being very ill for a day until we cleaned thoroughly (the owner did bring us a new hoover).
If owner had taken responsibility for floor not being cleaned properly we wouldn't have minded, but instead she got upset and defensive. Kept going on about a child getting into the barn.
You'll have a great stay here as long as you don't complain or upset the owner in anyway, or the other unfriendly people on the farm.

:)
• We loved the fireplace. Sitting by the fire in the evenings after a long hike or a day out was just perfect!
• Lovely and warm for most of the evening whilst the heating is on.
• Well stocked kitchen with clean and functional utensils and equipment.
• Super quiet and rural location on a working farm in seemingly the middle-of-nowhere.
• There's a neolithic burial chamber just across the field.
• Property has several access roads and is close to Betws-y-coed.
• Excellent communication with host.
• The games room in the garage outside!
:(
• There's a strong smell of fuel or something when you immediately enter the building which at times made my partner feel a bit nauseous.
• Given only one small firelighter and no kindling for four nights seemed a bit tight. We had to buy our own. We understand that it's costly to provide this kind of fuel but it should be standard in a country home and reflected in the price of the accommodation.
• Mind your head in the shower!
• Super narrow country lanes coming in - be sure to know all your options incase of roadworks or wide vehicles blocking the way. Not the hosts fault!

We enjoyed our week's stay - lovely to see the lambs out in the field. Quiet location on a working farm with superb views - cottage was spacious and well equipped.

Penrhyddion Ucha is a beautiful cottage with stunning views. We stayed here and drove down the valley to Snowdon and the Ogwen valley each day for some mountain walking, and it made a perfect base to come back to each night. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room and bedrooms were all very comfortable - the living room also has a wood stove, with extra bags of logs available to buy. The bathroom was also good, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, making sure we had everything we needed for the week. There was also loads of parking space in front of the property.
Access to the property is down some winding, narrow roads, which makes it feel a bit more out of the way than it appears on a map, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Host was very accomodating and we were personally welcomed and met before we departed. As a family with three kids (0.5, 3, 5) we had all we needed and the location was ideal for the kids with activities nearby.
Only issue we had was with booking.com not the host or accommodation. Despite putting in the ages of our children and adding an extra request for a cot and asking for extra information, booking.com wrongly informed the host that we had three teenagers and did not pass on the special request. We contacted the host on the morning of our arrival for key pick-up information and she made the changes to the house (installed the cot and highchair) for our arrival without any fuss.
