DESTINATIONS
Santorini is one of the most famous islands in the world and one of the top touristic destinations. The unique caldera created by the eruption of the volcano has an incredible energy and power making all visitors fall in love with its otherworldly beauty. Experience the magic and thrills that the island of Santorini offers by choosing to stay in the Antelmi Houses.
-Santorini Island
Santorini is the island of the caldera, the beautiful landscapes, the unique products and the black, red and white beaches. It has a rich history and presence in time, a significant culinary tradition and a number of attractions, villages and beaches that are worth visiting and exploring during your stay in Santorini.
History & Sights ... The island of Santorini was one of the centres where the Cycladic civilization was developed. The prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri to admire a city annihilated by the great volcanic eruption in 1600 BC. The findings from the archaeological site are displayed in the Museum of Prehistoric Thera. Visit also Ancient Thira on the top of Mesa Vouno in Kamari and the Archaeological Museum of Thera to witness the culture that developed in the 4th century BC in Santorini. In the Kastelia and Goulades of Santorini (Akrotiri, Skaros/ Imerovigli, Pyrgos, Oia, Emporio) you will see how the Santorinians protected themselves from pirate raids in the 15th century through walks in these castle cities of the island. The wealth and power of the island in the 18th century is etched in the mansions of the island, mainly located in Oia and Messaria. In a series of private institutions and museums in Fira like the Belloneio Foundation, the Foundation of P. Nomikos, the Santozeum and the Maritime and Folklore Museum, in Oia and Kontochori respectively you can see many aspects of the history and the importance of Santorini through time.
Villages ... In Santorini, there are many villages that are worth visiting in order to see the beauty and listen to the stories narrated in the narrow streets, in the shadow of the steeples and the beautiful courtyards of the houses. Visit the medieval village of Pyrgos with the evocative atmosphere, the churches and climb up to the Monastery of Prophet Elias to enjoy the view. At Akrotiri, apart from the Archaeological area, you can visit the emblematic lighthouse and admire all of Santorini from the south side of the island. Do not miss a stop at the Castle of Emporio, the most well preserved Castle of the island and its neighbouring Megalochori with its alluring rustic atmosphere. In the village of Oia, the unique architecture and awe-inspiring views to the caldera and the sunset completes your visits to the villages of Santorini in the best way possible.
Beaches ... The beaches of Santorini are each one of a kind. The volcanic origin of the beaches results in various colours of sand and unique, savage sceneries that fill you with images never seen before. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Red Beach with the red rock that unites the land and the sea and creates a unique coastal landscape. Volcanic setting with other colours, black sand - white rocks, you will find at the beach of Vlychada. For walks and shopping before or after swimming visit the two Blue Flag awarded beaches of Kamari with the excellent organization. Equally well organized are the beaches of Perivolos and Perissa (also Blue Flag awarded) with many proposals for food, drinks and water sports. In Santorini you will also find a series of beaches that are not organized where you can enjoy your swim in privacy surrounded by the rough volcanic wilderness.
Gastronomy ... In the volcanic soil of Santorini grows a range of products that are unique world widely. The wines of Santorini, the most famous of which is Vinsanto, with the "explosive" character and unique flavours are the best accompaniment for enjoying the sunset in Santorini. Do not miss the Santorini cherry tomatoes, the white eggplant, capers and fava growing on the island for 3,500 years. At the restaurants on the island you will enjoy unique flavours and mouth-watering combinations of local ingredients in creative dishes that draw their inspiration from the rich culinary tradition of Santorini.
Must live Santorini experience ... to experience the magic of the island do not miss a cruise in the waters of the caldera on a traditional boat or on the deck of a luxurious catamaran. Ask the people of Villa Antelmi to advise you on all the details, and also arrange for you an unforgettable cruise in the Aegean Sea.

-Messaria Village in Santorini
Messaria is one of the largest villages in Santorini and as it name suggests it is located in the middle of the island close to all the main sites and the beaches of Santorini! The Antelmi Houses are located in the heart of the traditional settlement, among the village’s mansions that showcase its prosperous past as the centre of the viniculture of Santorini. The only mansion open to the public on the entire island, Argyros Mansion, is located just a few steps from the Antelmi Houses.
Here you will be part of the authentic everyday life on the island. The architecture of the village follows the genuine structure where the houses were built next to each other to be protected from the winds. In Antelmi Houses you will have the chance to enjoy moments of bliss and relaxation at the swimming pool, unwind in the sun loungers and enjoy the tastes of Santorini in the dining areas of the complex.
It is easy to travel from Messaria to the destinations of the island with the public bus services or by renting a car or an ATV. The capital, Fira, is a 10 minutes’ drive, and so are the medieval village of Pyrgos and the lively beach of Kamari. Do not miss being part of the authentic Santorini by staying in Antelmi Houses in Messaria!

This property was a great find! Eleni, the hostess, met us promptly when we arrived. She showed us around and explained everything we needed to know about it, as well as about the neighboring town. She gave us advice of what to do and where to eat, and promptly answered all my many questions I had the entire time we stayed on Santorini. The property itself looks exactly like the pictures. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The pool was great. We were not in downtown Fira, which was good because the bars are loud until 2-4am nightly. Plus it is very difficult to get to the hotels in town since most of them are down many uneven stairs. Our property was located 5 minutes away by transport or bus, which stops every 20 min right by the location. The town it’s in is adorable and had a great bakery, many good restaurants, and 2 supermarkets. There is no on site washer dryer but the laundromat was a 5 min walk, not a big deal. We did not need a car at all and I would recommend against that here since the streets are difficult to navigate and drivers here in Greece are aggressive. We used a transport service to get around, about 50 euros per trip for 11 of us. Worth every cent. Ultimately, the property was perfect for our large group and the hostess made this part of our trip go very smoothly. Did I mention Eleni even made us homemade Tiropita?!? Thank you for everything and I do hope our paths cross again. They definitely will if we return to Santorini!

The stay we had at Antelmi Houses was perfect for our long weekend at a wedding, the property is a lot more spacious than pictures do justice - and incredibly functional (fridge/coffee/supplies in every room was brilliant). Enables everyone to have privacy despite being in a large group staying. Eleni was superb from pre visit right to departure, accommodating multiple transfer requests and organisation - a 5 star host!! We had a delicious breakfast on the Sunday which was laid out nicely but Eleni and team - worth arranging. The property is suitable for all types of groups, families with children, friends, couples etc The location is great being right in the middle of the island, not far from Fira and with superb local restaurant, Ta Postalia just round corner. Thank you Eleni!

We loved our stay at Antelmi House. The villa is beautiful and well-appointed, the pool the perfect place for a dip. Eleni was an INCREDIBLE host and helped us both before and during our trip with planning, organization and generally helping us orient to Santorini. We had a great stay and would choose to stay there again when visiting the island.

We were greeted by Eleni who showed us all the units. Each one different but all amazing. The pool area was perfect! We took advantage of it each day. The VRBO is so central to the island that you could either head north or south to explore. It's vicinity to restaurants, bakeries and supermarket made it so easy to get what we needed. One morning, Eleni brought us homemade spanakopita. It was amazing and totally not necessary. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Santorini!!

First off, I have commend Eleni for her responsiveness to any of my questions leading up to our week long stay at Antelmi villas in Mesaria and her incredible hospitality. My five girlfriends from all parts of the world were celebrating a 60th birthday and the villa did not fail us in any way. The rooftop deck and speaker were amazing surprises as were our dance parties, sunrises and moonrises. The location had a more local feel, not as crazy busy as Fira and Oia, and was close to amenities such as shops and restaurants. I would rate this experience at 11 out of 10. Thank you, Eleni. PS She makes delicious boureka!
