Short and sweet stay

Excellent location in a fantastic historic building. Beautiful grounds. Staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast

Had my 70th birthday with 20+ friends and we stayed overnight. It was a magnificent stay

Its a 16th century manor house full of history & has lovely gardens, a beautiful setting. All of the staff were brilliant very cheerful and engaging.

One minor point, there was a minor repetitive noise through the night in our cottage room 108. Sounded like a jack hammer in the distance. Could have been a water hammer perhaps but not sure why it was repeating?

Nice but noisy

Lovely setting building is gorgeous & steeped in history with characteristic charm .. great staff nice room was ideal for one person & clean

The hairdryer was dirty sticky & covered in hair.. had to wipe it down several times & still sticky .. also had no sleep because of the peacocks

when I’m lying in bed with my partner fast asleep b someone walks into your room saying they had a noise complaint absolutely ridiculous fuming I was really drunk n asleep till they actually walked into our room wen I wake up for breakfast we will be complaining £130 n someone lets them self into toe room joke

We had a fabulous stay. The rooms are lovely clean and comfortable. Food was fabulous, and the staff were excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely make a return visit.

The breakfast was delicious. The staff were extremely friendly. The hotel was amazing. Everywhere was extremely clean. We had a wonderful stay. Undoubtedly we will return.

Ok hotel ruined by other hotel guests

No one at reception on arrival. Very very annoyed to say that we were kept up all night long with drunken people trying to get into our room and knocking on our door. This did not stop until just before check out, for £130 per night I do not expect to not sleep for any time of my stay and for staff not to do anything about the disruption. Following on from this they continued to make a scene in the reception and the hole way through breakfast; arguing, shouting and using expletives very loudly - this was very unsettling and frankly ruined every single part of my trip - again staff did nothing to stop this.

great location and facilities, home from home and very relaxing. Good value for money.

seemed to be short staffed, breakfast not prepared for continental in morning, room was tired and things broken/not working, windows could not be locked. No book in room on facilities or description.

Nice exterior building, room was tired and dated (not in a good way). Not worth £130 per night.

The building and grounds were fantastic.

The room that I was given did not match the pictures or description on the website. The walls were paper thin, I could hear the guy next doors conversation like he was sitting right next to me. The rooms were tired, dated and not clean. I did request to be moved to another room that didn't have any neighbouring guests which was granted. This room had a blackbirds nest in the roof so I could hear scratching and flapping all night.

Overall an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful period building in gorgeous grounds. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was ok but the bathroom was a little dated and the lack of any shelving for toiletries was inconvenient.

Room was cold when we arrived but got warmer gradually. Sunday lunch was disappointing because the roast beef was quite tough. We commented to two members of staff but no apology was offered. Our dog was happy though because we took the meat home for her.
