Casa de Apeleiras is a fenomenal well secluded paradise of nature and quiteness. Perfect for some relaxing days away from the fast paced routined most people go through nowaways. The hostess is very nice and kind, and relentless in making sure the guests have everything they need to be confortable. For the property, the suite room with its own private bathroom was clean, well decorated and thought to detail. The double bed and linens were superbly confortable and the amenities were more than suficient. The bathroom was equiped with bathtub, shower and a double sink vanity, and had towels and a hairdryer for us to use. D. Julia was always available to help us or to replace something we needed (towels, bed sheets etc). The kitchen area also had all the kitchen utensils we could think off, and was throughly keept clean by both the hostess after breakfast and each guest after the meals. We had enough cooking pots and pans to not have to cook and immediately wash for others to have something to cook on. The fridge/freezer and cupboard areas were well identified so guests could store their food without mixups, which was really cool! The breakfast was delicious, varied and included bread, fruit (home grown), croissants and crepes, a variety of spreads from butter to cheese, fruit jams and chocolate, ham and cheese, water, tea, juices, coffee and milk. I am probably forgetting some goodies as it was a really complete breakfast :) D. Julia prepared the breakfast daily according to our preferred schedule. The garden was fantastically maintained with shadow and sun areas, a small table for outdoor meals or reading (there is also another on the living room balcony), lounge chairs and of course the pool, which was amazing and a must to sink into and let the stress wash away. The wifi was good, although slighly unstable throughout our stay.
The house was very well kept from the heat by managing the blinds and keeping the windows closed during heat hours, however we still found the bedroom/kitchen a bit hot. Air conditioning would be something nice to look into for the future. In the kitchen it would also be cool to include a small variety of kitchen basics readily available for guest use, such as olive oil, salt (both thick and thin), vinager, and commonly used spices (garlic, pepper, oregans..). For my personal opinion and because I am a neat freak I would like to have the drawers and cupboards a bit more organized and maybe labeled for an easy to find method. Some cupboard door hinges need to be fixed/replaced. These are just minnor sugestions and nothing that interfered in us enjoying our stay to the maximum. It was also nice to have a barbecue in the garden area, which we thought of using before miscalculating our meal plan. Nevertheless if we had used it, a supporting table next to it to put trays and cooking tools, would be a must have, while we were cooking. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was great to relax and disconnect and would honestly return. Thank you to D. Julia for a lovely time for much needed rest.

Julia took great care of us! The pool was just heaven. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It was great we could use the kitchen. Julia puts breakfast on the table at any hour you wish. She bakes a fabulous “gateaux”. You have to share the house with hardly any other guests, so it really feels like your very own holiday home.
It’s about a 10 minute drive on a very windy road into town. Take that into account when going out to dinner and ordering wine. Julia does not speak English, but she speaks French really well. I am sure you’ll be able to communicate with her any langlauge you speak!

We enjoyed very much our stay at Casa de Apeleiras. Julia made the stay wonderful, and we felt at home. The room was very clean and comfortable, the pool is great- especially during mid-day. Breakfast was great, and from the kitchen, you get a view of the valley.
We will definitely come again ;)
