Slack Tide - by its very definition is a time when the water is completely unstressed. This is a short period of time, kind of like your vacation, but such an important time. We cannot think of a better name for this lovely Vacation Home, that upon entering, you will feel yourself beginning to decompress. Located in Piney Island, a lush Community which happens to be one of the closest to Assateague National Seashore, Slack Tide will not disappoint.

Surrounded by tall, whispering Pines with the Assateague Channel only steps away, breathing in this air will fill your senses with excitement and curiosity. Slack Tide offers everything you dream of for your Chincoteague Island Vacation, both inside and outside.

The Perfect Layout for your family.......
Upon entering Slack Tide, you'll love the large Mud Room decorated in Chabby Chic Coastal Decor. This leads to the spacious Dining Area with Soaring Ceilings and Exposed Beams - completely charming. Pale blue walls & light floors pop with hints of navy blue. The spacious Dining Table seats 8, with additional seating at the Breakfast Bar. You'll love the Bookcase the owners have provided filled with family games, puzzles, and books, and there is even a Game Table for enjoying them. Just around the corner, the very well-stocked Kitchen will please the Chef in the family, and has every gadget you could want to prepare Family Meals. You will love being able to dine indoors or Al Fresco on the incredible Deck out back with a Fire Pit. Don't feel like cooking? You are only minutes away from many dining options including Famous Pizza, The Village, Woody's, and more.

Slack Tide offers convenient one level living and sleeps 8 people, with only a small step between the Kitchen and Living Area. The layout of this lovely home, with 2 separate sides of the house, makes it perfect for one family or two families to share. Bedroom 1, which is on the way to the Living Area, is perfect for the kids and is decorated in an adorable Lighthouse Theme. This cozy room sleeps 3 in a Pyramid Bunk. Bedroom 2 features a Queen Bed and is adorned in lovely Coastal Colors. Bedroom 3, the Master Bedroom, is located in the newer portion of the home. Not only is this room beautifully furnished, lovely French Doors lead to a small Deck and access to the Backyard & Outdoor Shower. Finally, there is a Full Size Futon in the Extended Living Area. And with 2 Full Bathrooms, there will be no waiting in line when showers are in order!

The warm and inviting Living Area is a wonderful spot to relax and share stories of the day's adventures. With Central AC, Free WiFi, and Flat Screen Cable TV/DVD, you'll love sinking into the comfy furniture. The kids will have fun playing the WII Console when a little down time is needed. The thoughtful Owners of Slack Tide have provided a multitude of books, games, and movies for your enjoyment, as well.

Not only is Slack Tide an incredible Vacation Home inside, it offers super fun Outdoor Living, as well! The huge, shady yard offers respite from the hot summer sun, and you will love the huge multi-tiered Deck with Dining Table for 6. What a great place to enjoy some Local Crabs or grill the Fresh Catch of the Day on the Charcoal Grill. The lush yard is fenced-in, making it perfect for your furbaby (Dogs Only) - there is even a "Doggie Door" leading to the Backyard from the Mud Room. There are several seating areas to enjoy the beauty, and the enormous Fire Pit surrounded by relaxing Adirondack Chairs will be the perfect place to gather after a fun-filled day on the Beach. After dinner, you can toast marshmallows with the marshmallow forks provided! An Outdoor Shower with hot & cold water is a great place to begin your day or rinse off after playing on the Beach. This was our first visit to Chincoteague (husband came as a kid back in the day) and we knew we needed dog friendly and to be close to Assateague. This house is PERFECT for anyone with pups and kids. It is a clean modern home with a great outdoor space and about a mile from Assateague. So close we biked to the beach most days. In the TV room, there is a large sectional which was perfect for relaxing in the evening with a movie. On nice weather nights, we loved the backyard and fire pit. The rental company was responsive, but they also anticipatedany of our needs so we didn't have to communicate too much. We had a week of family fun time and it was just easy. Love this place. Perfect fit for 2 adults, 2 hound dogs, and a 4 year old.

We loved being able to take our very first vacation with our dog. He learned the doggie door in 1 minute flat! It's been a dream to see the wild horses and we were not disappointed. The house was perfect for us. It had everything we could need.

I have always admired this house and was so happy it was available for our stay. This house was a perfect set up for us. The outdoor firepit was definitely an added bonus. Beat having to lug all the stuff for a fire on the beach. The only thing that would help make it perfect is a screened in area. The flies made it miserable for sitting/eating outdoors! The mosquitoes were not bad at all, first year I can honestly say that. We all loved this house and even the kids said its now their favorite!

Loved the spacious home, the location, and yes, the quiet as the day wound down. Only one item ( we feel) would have helped- pick up days for trash &/or recycling. Nothing in the information left at the house. But we did the best we could by following what the neighbors were doing. We’ll definitely be back!

Great, spacious home for a family with 3 little ones 5 and under. If you’re a 2 family group booking, the house is split really well if you need your own space! The kitchen was the BEST stocked kitchen I’ve ever experienced with a vacation home rental. We cook all dinners “in” given bedtimes, and there wasn’t an issue needing anything they didn’t already have. The bunk room was great for the older ones, but if you’re an adult this isn’t a full sized room! Smelled a little musty in that one but attributed to portion of house that was converted for the room. A little Damp Rid charcoal box did the trick! It’s hard to expect a house that allows dogs to not have some random dog hair, but the removable couch covers were appreciated so we didn’t need to sit in dog hair. Fire pit and yard were ideal to keep little ones entertained, minus the mosquitoes, but that’s just a product of the island. Also appreciate on-site washer and dryer with kids!!

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks prior to Christmas in Chincoteague. Loved the house, yard, and neighborhood. Met some Teagers at local dog park and walked the nature trail several times. Local grocery and bakery were nearby. Got takeout from the diner, Asian Express, and Famous Pizza. Used Dog E Stylez and H&H Pharmacy, plus Urgent Care in town across the bridge.

This property was great for my family of 6! And the unique layout of the house was great for everyone to have their own area to play and relax. Even though we brought some things to occupie the kids . It was nice that there were some games, toys, and movies for the kids. And the fenced in yard and fire pit was a plus!

The house was clean with an updated kitchen. We spent a lot of time by the fire pit in the evenings. It was very easy to get to the beach and we walked down to the museum to watch a rocket launch. We had a fabulous time!

I stayed with family and friends for 4th of July. While the house is big and beautiful and the neighborhood is lovely. I thought it was overpriced for the amenities provided. Few of the issues I encountered: Mold in bathrooms, outdated kitchen, uncomfortable mattresses, running toilet. Those are things I'd easily overlook but not for.the price of this property.. other then that.
