Comfy bed

The bed was extremely comfortable, better than Premier Inn. There was a fridge.

You could hear people from the other rooms like if they were with you in the same room. The light in the bedroom was close to falling. No mirror in a room only in the bathroom. The shower curtain needs a wash.

Fairly comfortable, tiles broken/cracked(wouldn’t want to stand on the with bare feet)on bathroom floor, television barely worked on 2 channels, could have been cleaner.

Fine place for a short stay

The location is great for reaching the airport by bus or by foot, it is quite calm and there are supermarkets either next door or Tesco 1 km away. The bed was comfortable, the host communicated well and was accommodating, and there were tips for airport transport, local restaurants, etc. in the room. A fridge and a kettle with coffee and tea was there. Fine for a short stay.

At first, I got accommodated in a lower-quality room, which I didn't book. Then the host gave me a better room after I called him. However, this still didn't seem to be the room I booked (e.g., washing machine was missing and it looked different from the photos). I didn't want to call the host again, so I settled there. (Attached photos from both rooms.) But I still don't understand how the options are advertised: about eight room of various quality seem to be in the house, but they all seem to be advertised under only one option, which covers the best-quality room. And even so I doubt to believe all the amenities listed here are physically present. So unless you don't care, be aware of this and check the equipment and options in advance and then re-check your room. ...Apart from this, the room quality is mediocre, but OK for a short stay (missing trash bin, cracked floor, loose rusty water tap, insufficient or not working light, etc.)

I will not go back unless I absolutely have to!

The staff was very welcoming, wanted for me after 00 & even lent me a phone charger! Good service!

That I was told, I could walk from the airport - that doesn’t work in the dark on bumpy sidewalks & in country roads with a wheel suitcase! The pictures of the reception sera looked much nicer. Esp. Paperthin walls interupting the only 6h I had to sleep, felt like somebody was in my room, tolkning on the phone for a long time, even with earplugs on.

Perfect location need some work done to the place

The location was perfect for the course I was doing

False advertisement as it said about getting some sort of kitchen area but when arrived had nothing just a fridge and a kettle which was disgusting, but there were signs that there used to be kitchen facilities in the room but for some reason they decided to remove them as I expected something there as I was staying for 6 weeks but then had to go out and buy everything that I needed, the bathroom had a damp smell constantly, when people didn’t shut there doors properly the lock would start making a noise to let you know it was not closed properly but people didn’t realise and it was very annoying when you are trying to sleep and that is all you can here so have to get up and shut the door for them. Bedroom didn’t get cleaned very often as there was like over a week where my bedding didn’t get changed or didn’t get fresh towels, needs decorating/ some DIY done as some things are hanging on by 1 screw, well overpriced for what you get

Ian's journey through Stansted.

The room was comfortable. The bed was good. The room had a fridge. I was able to wash and dry my clothes. It is quite close to Stansted airport. £2 Bus drop off at the door and back again very convenient if travelling through. Minimal shopping and one pub across the road. The WiFi worked well.

There was rain and on the second night and the roof in the room leaked. Dripping onto the floor. Not on the bed, just onto the floor next to the bed. The manager said no previous guest had mentioned it despite a lot of rain recently. It's not his fault but a plumbing problem for the owner. A microwave and a bit of cutlery with glasses plates bowls would have helped.

Staff was good and friendly.

The place was not clean, and the bedding was smelling .The blinds could not close.. The room just smelt of dumb. There was no light bulb .the light was full of dust. Couldn't sleep as l was breathing dust

Convenient location with no frills

Great location for Stansted airport transfer.

There was no bin, toilet and our kettle was full of someone else’s left over herbal tea leaves. I don’t think the place was cleaned before our arrival.

what ever you do do not book this so called hotel ! it’s awful

nothing - there was hand written sign on the fence that said to call Ahmed on arrival but after 10 calls and no answer we went inside and shouted and a man eventually came out and said did we have a reservation!

the owner / manager was very rude. refused to let his have additional pillows and said only one per person allowed!! the Room (no 2) had garden chairs in the room, the tv didn’t work, the window didn’t lock, the door didn’t have a blind, the kettle was full of limescale, the bathroom had absolutely no amenities. WE DID NOT STAY AND DROVE HOME !!! Do not stay here it’s rubbish

The outside area was messy so it did not feel welcoming. I had to ask for a TV remote but there was no signal for it to work. I had to ask for coffee and milk as it wasn't properly topped up. I had to ask for the cup to be washed

Hard to review since we arrived at 2.25am and were told there were no rooms available. Showed my receipt and confirmation and asked what I had paid for. Host seemed confused and had no solutions assured me the fault was on booking.coms part. Location is a disaster, we booked this thinking it would be easily accessible by foot. After walking 35 minutes on unlit dangerous roads to be told the room we paid for was already full was very disappointing.

Booked the room but when we arrived to check got told that there were no rooms available. Staff were rude and confrontational and refused to acknowledge our booking despite me showing it to him on my phone. Ended up having to find somewhere else to stay... At 2am!!!

Never again

Nothing, location suspect, rooms substandard. No towels, toilet paper or toiletries.

We arrived at 2:45 and there was no staff on site the doors to every room was open wide some were jammed open airing them. When we called the support number for the accommodation no answer had to leave message and nobody gat back to us.Called the George Hotel who control the confirmation for Stanwell they just said just pick any room and take the key with you so no-one else could take it. They said it what happens when no-one is on site and its happened before. We went across to the pub across the road and the landlady said she was not surprised no-one was there as it happens all the time. We went back around 3:45 and found a cleaner preparing two rooms (our rooms according to him and handed them over to us. We went into the room which he had cleaned first and it smelt damp and the toilet area of urine. When he left I asked him for toilet rolls and he fetched 1 from his car. By the time we went to the see one room he had gone. The second room was the same as the first room despite every window and the door wide open. Smelly. My brothers wife (in the first room) and my wife in room the second room) refused to stop in the place so we found alternative accommodation as Stanwell's was so substandard. To say we were really disappointed is an understatement It was a no starter from when we pulled into the parking place and every door and window in the building was open and no-one answered the bell. I walked around the site and was taken aback by what I see. I was amazed this was still on your Booking.com site as you must have had complaints before. Disappointed Tony Kellett

Location location

Okay this is about a cheaper overnight stay before flying early the next day that is the only reason to stay here. I found the owner helpful

Everything but this is a cheaper place to stay before an early 3:43 rise for the airport Someone said White Hart pub but that is not in walking distance.

OK visit

Parking available on site. Quietish area fair size room. Very close to the airport and the airport parking area. Clean towel was given on arrival. Late check-in is available and you can adjust your check out time within reason. The gentleman that was there to see us in the room was very nice.

The door didn't lock, there was damp coming through the walls. Two mugs and some coffee sachets were there but no facility to make the drink..no kettle.

It was fine as a stopover near the airport.

Te room was fine for one night stay, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

A comfortable seat would’ve been nice and a TV. but the main problem was it was impossible to sleep as the radiator kept clicking and making strange noises all through the night. Even with earplugs in it was still heard. It’s a shame as it was an affordable overnight stay and perfect location for the airport especially as bus stop is right outside. Also I stayed on a Sunday and there was absolutely nowhere to buy any food. If I’d have known that before I could have gotten something at the airport beforehand.
