The hotel has a resort-like atmosphere. You can relax.
The cost of the boat going to the hotel is high. After hours, up to $180 (one way). Also, grab cabs do not come to the boat landing. Access to the city is expensive, $30. These costs detract from a nice stay at the hotel.

location, peace and quiet, clean beach. gardens. friendly and attentive staff. thank you to: Mithona, Sela, Thol, Mab, Dali, Dara, Kaka, Makara, Sawat, Samanta.
would like to have seen more Khmer food menu options, and menu changes as a little limited for a 2 week stay. (however the chef cooked us Khmer food). food and wines a little pricey perhaps.

Cool and stylish hotel, very quiet and relaxing. Staff are enthusiastic and trying hard even if they lack a little in communication and experience.
Some communication issues, restaurant service was ok, we had some challenges on the first day getting gluten intolerance understood and had to raise it with reception and head chef. Service was a bit haphazard with courses at different times. Although the beach in front of the hotel is cleaned daily the rest suffers from a lot of plastic and fishing industry pollution which unfortunately is common in SE Asia.

Beach, bike ride and breakfast
I paid 60 dollars for the boat transfer service, and this is a very bad thing, as usual in hotels on the islands, the boat transfer service is free
The pool is out of service
The food is not good enough and the price is high

Lovely, beautiful, peaceful private island. The Sea, sandy beach with good weather made this stay memorable.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful and go out of their way to see to your needs.
The rooms are comfortable but could have been planned a bit better to give more space for luggage, better placement of TV placement and limited channels.
The massage and spa facilities are of excellent standards with very good staff.
The breakfast facilities were good but again the staff are probably not aware or trained in the manner/order of breakfast serving.
The A La Carte menu is good but limited especially with only one restaurant in the whole complex.

It was too expensive for whst they were able to deliver

The island is a gem with distinct character and advantageous proximity to mainland. The location is endowed with natural charm which puts it in potential league with more established destinations in the region. The core strength remains with the local staff who are attentive and reactive, but only when engaged by the client. The FnB personnel was particularly stellar, despite limited options for culinary and cocktail adventure.
Resorts of this nature and level rise and fall on their mastery of the details and ability to expand and amplify the customer experience. Challenges are aplenty. But far from impossible for this place.
Facility and equipment age were felt throughout the trip. The departure of Alilas' has left evident gaps in facility management, maintenance, and site cleanliness. Like many others, Koh Russey Villas is facing a challenging market recovery.
With effort, creativity and ingenuity, this resort should once again shine a fashionable light on Cambodian island travel.

This property is very quiet and very good for relaxing. The staff are amazing very friendly and prepared to help the customers any time .
I didn’t like that around the hotel or the island don’t have any shop for snacks No chocolate no candy noting .Also if you need any small medicine or personal women or man staff you get stuck .You have to be prepared for this .

Our stay of 9 nights was just above relaxing, beautiful and excellent! The whole staff at Koh Russey Villas & Resort is excellent on a professional but also on a personal level! The facilities are in great conditions, the rooms are large and very clean and the service, as stated before beyond excellent. A perfect place to relax and calm down while enjoying the beautiful sea and pool area! The food was excellent as well and offered enough varieties for a stay of 9 nights.
We felt so welcome and appreciated that we would recommend everyone to experience this unique place on its own!!
There was nothing, we did not like! Any wishes were always fulfilled and everyone was always very helpful.

location is great, very calming
Food options, since they are gradually reopening food options were limited to buffet meals and hope that they would add some options on meals

View and garden design are beautiful. The staffs are very friendly and helpful! We had a fantastic time. We would love to come back again!
Limited options of drinks (ex. cocktails).

The island in general very nice. Nice beach, room where I stay very close to the beach
The whole service should be better compare to roomrate. Food was not that good. Breakfast is too simple consider the high room rate charge. Room service was not available when we visit, but after insisting, they eventually offer room service. Transfer was not included even the rate is fairly high. If want cheaper transfer might consider wooden boat and find boat by ourselve. We have been to quite a number of luxury hotels, this hotel, however, is far from luxury (the whole service is not worth the money) however, the design of the property, the room is very nice. It should has been managed better.

Management and staffs all very helpful and engaging.
Set menu food was not very good. Because of COVID, they didn’t have order menu so we didn’t enjoy the foods at all.

Great Location and hideaway. Very good property development in its early stage.
Extremely friendly staff. Great people and mindset. Will come again
Service level needs improvement. Long waiting times at set breakfast of up to 30 min. Non availability of basic local food such as mango or prawns - given the understanding of being on an island but should be there for this price and already limited choice on Menu. Further food was too basic and standard for this price. But all development areas can be fixed very fast.

The place has a high potential, retired on an island with a beautiful small beach. The staff is very kind; they greet you all the time and speak a correct english.
The fitness center as the swimming pool are ok.
The food is ok but not outstanding.
Common areas are clean.
But it is not enough for an Alila hotel: you expect some extraordinary experience.
There was a very strong problem of disorganization and the service was not at the level we can expect from an Alila hotel.
Reception/ front desk:
It started from day one with them asking to fill all the information (email adress, phone number,..) whereas we emailed several time before the stay to organize the transfer from the airport and as a previous client of the Group Alila they are sending me regular emails.
Two days before my departure, I went to the reception to organize the transfer back (the process went well), and the night before, I received a call from the reception asking me when and how I was leaving... As you have to take a boat to leave the island, not very reassuring if you will catch your plane. :-)
Beach:
Not enough sun beds for each client, then there was no service at the beach (towels not at disposal, not fresh water, no one asking if you need anything...)
Restaurants:
For breakfast, you have to wait 10 minutes before a waiter come and clean a table for you, and 50 minutes to get a cup of coffee before your order.
During lunch or dinner, they mix your order with others...
In-room dining: one night, we had to wait 2 hours before I called back and they probably had forgotten our order.
Rooms:
In my bathroom, I experienced a disgusting smell of sewer. They were not able to fix it.
In the room, you have to fight with mosquitos as there is no nets on beds.
In short, a disappointing experience.
But, a new General Manager took his function only a few weeks ago and has an impressive resume. I am sure that in a few weeks, all will be fixed !
