Guest contribution: "I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time at Valley View Cottage. You indeed have million dollar views, especially from the top of the had time to drive around the area, and in my opinion you have one of the best locations and situations in all of the hunter valley. Actually, that was the consensus of the entire group and they insisted that I write you to thank you and express their pleasure with the property".
We have successfully been in business for 16 years. We aim for you to be comfortable while enjoying an Australian country experience - that feeling of 'getting away'. You can see more photos on our flickr page and instagram and talk with us.

Hunter weekend away with my husband, parents and our little dog. Secluded, peaceful locations but <10 minutes to top vineyards and restaurants. Stunning gardens and valley views. Extremely comfortable property with well-equipped kitchen, lots of seating and great heating for cool nights. Sorry we couldn’t stay longer!

The property, wow, what can I say. It is amazing, homely and so close to everywhere you want to go. We didn’t want to leave at the end of it!
Robyn was very responsive as a host and was kind and sweet to our requests. Would recommend for anyone looking for a home Way from home near the hunter.
I will definitely be booking again for our next hunter trip.

Absolutely loved our stay!
Great views, breathtaking sunsets as we sipped our wine and sat around the fire playing boardgames. My furbaby was in absolute heaven.
A tiny recommendation would be to upgrade tech like TV, get new movie titles, provide wifi and a basic welcome basket maybe.
Other than that, the hosts were so easy to communicate with and helpful. Thanks Robyn and Alan! :)
Will definitely be back again.

I had a lovely weekend away here with my Mum and my sisters. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and the setting was spectacular! Loved the gardens and the outdoor seating areas. Only comment would be its time to ditch the DVD player and get a Smart TV! We struggled to get it to work. Other than that it was great, thanks!

My family and I enjoyed our stay a lot. It was very relaxing. The location is very close to all wineries but still very remote to enjoy the tranquility of the spot. We would love to come again.

We had a wonderful stay in this quiet cottage on the hill, with enough room to accommodate extended family for a wedding we were attending to a venue close by. Spacious and clean with decent sized bedrooms, we took advantage of the full sized kitchen and bbq area at meal times, and then relaxed in the quiet beautiful huge garden area with amazing views, often sitting on the hill at sunset with a beverage. Short drive to Huntlee shopping centre. Communication with host was fabulous it was easy to check in and out. Thanks Robyn and Alan for hosting us.

A relaxing stay with lots of dog walks around the gardens. Suited to those who like lounging in the garden with a drink, watching the sunset. The farm fencing is only 5 wire, not mesh and wire, so best suited for dogs with a rabbit proof recall or people who will walk their dogs on lead for toileting etc. There's roos and turtles to be mindful of too.

We used this cottage/ house for work trip over two weeks. All our workers enjoyed their accommodation. Check in was easy and the host was great to deal with.
Will stay again.

It suited our needs.

The location is lovely, it's mostly secluded with lots of well-kept grounds to walk around. Very picturesque. It's close enough to the shops, restaurants and wineries without being too far - 20 minutes to anything you might need.
The house itself is a bit tired and small. Any more than four people and you'd constantly be on top of each other.
Four bedrooms, yes - but one (unheated) bathroom. I'd suggest the nightly charge would warrant something considerably better than this. The bedrooms do not have heating or cooling.
The Old North Road is unpaved and is not in great shape. Not the landlords fault of course, we came across locals that said that it's never been this bad. If you have a 4x4, it's not an issue, but our car was bottoming out.
Ultimately, you won't be disappointed because of the stunning venue, but the place is well overpriced for the facilities and comfort on offer.

This delightful spot, with the house snuggled into the hillside and surrounded by a pretty garden and with land bryond is a rare find especially if you want to take your four legged friend. What's more the property enjoys expansive views across the Hunter Valley and it is a short drive from the area's wineries. Various covered areas around the house provide excellent locations to enjoy breakfast, lunch and sundowners. I am already looking forward to returning.

A most peaceful cottage, which was a home away from home for our long weekend. The house was very clean and communication with the owner was easy. We particularly enjoyed drinks watching the sunset from one of the many garden seats.

The house and property was lovely! We were in the area for a wedding. My father has limited mobility but was able to manage the small steps and ramp into the property. Communication about the property was great.
There are lovely outdoor areas to enjoy, and the property is a short drive to surrounding wineries and shops.

Great stay. Excellent value for money. House has everything you need. Gardens and surrounds make this place special. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely time at the property and it had all we needed for a comfortable stay. The very few things we would comment on is that the outdoor fireplace fits just one log so we didn’t bother. The bed we slept on was a bit on the top soft side and left me sore. There were lots of mozzies but we were told to bring our own repellant so that was good!

What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. We absolutely loved the serene gardens and the fact we felt like we were in our own little haven away from the world. It gave us the opportunity to be close to everything yet far away to have our own peace and privacy. There was plenty of room within the house and the beds were comfortable. Thanks for such a great stay

Delightful gardens and amazing views
We took our family for a weekend away with 3 dogs and a baby. The cosy, homely vibe of the house allowed us to relax immediately; the delightful gardens and splendid view made this place hard to leave. I took many walks around the property just to soak it all in. We would recommend this for a family getaway. The dogs were in heaven!

Relaxing Hunter Valley Retreat
We had a wonderful stay at Valley View Cottage, which was a great home base to explore the Hunter Valley. The property has a relaxed country vibe, with a variety of outdoor spaces to enjoy the gorgeous views, including thoughtfully placed seating for enjoying a cheese platter in the gardens. Highly recommended.

Birthday short break
The property was clean & Comfortable. The hosts we're friendly, helpful & communicated expectations / information well. The position of the property & gardens were beautiful, with lots of little nooks to sit in & enjoy the outdoors & the garden.
Access from one part of the road due to the flood water caused a bit of angst as we're not really used to the roads.
However overall we loved staying there & enjoyed a fun relaxing time. Would definitely return.

What a beauty
This is a lovely property. Immaculate well equipped and welcoming. So many areas for people to relax outside and plenty of chairs to relax in inside. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 smaller dogs. Very close to places to eat and wineries..it felt like a home away from home. The owner was very helpful when we contacted her. Although only 1 bathroom having 2 toilets made that totally manageable. It was very well equipped. We will def be back - sitting round a fire in winter sounds very appealing.

The house was comfortable with outstanding gardens. Several outdoor
We had a very comfortable stay. Having dinner in the rotunda each night, looking over the valley as the sun went down whilst watching eagles glide past, was a highlight.

Fantastic location
Adult family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay over 2 nights. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Location for us was excellent - central to all the Hunter has to offer and yet feeling of being miles away. The only problem we had was not being able to use the BBQ but kitchen fulfilled our needs.

Delightful property, wonderful location
A fabulous house with wonderful grounds, it met all our expectations. Cosy and comfortable, we spent hours beside the fire catching up with family and enjoying slow-cooked meals accompanied by local wines. Good sized rooms and plenty of warm blankets for the chilly nights. Close enough to wineries but far enough away to feel like we were in the middle of nowhere. Perfect.
