We just returned from a 5-night stay for 6 adults at Rustic Timber. The property was pretty much as described...beautiful inside and out, could sleep a small army, was well-maintained and provided extremely comfortable accommodations. We especially enjoyed the wood framing, Tempurpedic bedding, gas fire table on the deck and the fireplace on the one chilly night of our trip. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck except when the construction project across the street was operating. We also enjoyed the relatively remote location – nobody drives by. The bedrooms were spacious with nice private bathroom facilities (that could really use some towel hooks/racks). We originally had planned on 8 adults but a late cancellation reduced our numbers to 6. The silver lining in the cancellation was that the great room, deck and dining table were suited more for 6 adults than 8. The kitchen, while well-equipped, was significantly under-sized as we found ourselves bumping into each other quite regularly. If we were to have a group of more than 6 adults in the future with a wish to hang together as a group, we would probably look elsewhere. In our opinion, the biggest flaw with Rustic Timber is the driveway. We can appreciate that building a house into a hillside is challenging but there had to have been a better option for the driveway engineering. It is extremely steep (perhaps 45˚) and the parking logistics were awkward at best. In terms of value, Rustic Timber is pricy but does provide high quality accommodations so we see value as reasonable. In case the owners read this review: You have a 125' tall tree that looks to be either dead or dying out front which will cause significant damage to the house should it fall the wrong way (NE). If it falls, it will also take out the power lines so maybe you can coerce your utility company into removing it. It will not be an easy job. Also might consider some carpenter bee traps as they are quite fond of the wooden beams.

Stayed here with a few families, and it was perfect. Gorgeous house, newly built. The decks are awesome, and are the main outdoor space to hang out in (no yard otherwise). There are several fireplaces in the house, including a gas one in the master bedroom. The ping pong table was a hit with the kids. I will say that while all the roads getting up there are paved, they can be quite steep or winding, so just know that; it comes with going to the mountains.
