About this house rental

This is a recently renovated house in a can't beat location! Park the car and walk to town! The stroll to Main Street is only three blocks and an easy flat walk past Harris Lake (where you can feed the geese or do a little fishing). You're just a stone's throw from world class shopping, a day at the spa, ice cream shops, great restaurants, or countless outdoor adventures. The wifi will let you stay plugged in, the HD flat screen will let you catch the game, and a giant front porch ready for lounging or dining lets you just sit and enjoy the cool mountain air at 4118 feet above sea level.

The house features five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms: a king bedroom with an en suite bathroom, two queen bedrooms that share a full bath and a queen bedroom and a bedroom with two twins that share the third full bathroom. The large living room has a gas fireplace and an HD flat screen TV. The dining table seats 10. A fully equipped kitchen and huge island wait for you to gather around. The house also has two washer and dryers and TVs in every bedroom. This is the perfect spot from which to launch all of your Highlands adventures!

*So it's not confusing: An old pre-renovation review mentions three bedrooms but the house now has five.

Our family gathered in Highlands for a Labor Day weekend getaway, and we loved staying in this house. Located on a quiet street, the house is just about as close to downtown Highlands as you can get. We enjoyed fishing in Harris Lake, walking to breakfast at Mountain Fresh, and playing games in the front yard. This house is clean, has an open layout that is ideal for family gatherings, is beautifully decorated, and has a well-stocked kitchen. I highly recommend it!

My husband and I along with our grown children spent a week at this property in Highlands. The house was a close 5 minute walk to Main Street and near Harris Lake. The lay-out was great as there are separate bedroom areas with adjacent baths that you can close off for privacy along with a very nice master bedroom and private bath. The kitchen was well equipped with nice new appliances. The family and dining areas were perfect for gathering to eat, work and play games. A few restaurants that we enjoyed were Paoletti, Four65 Woodfire Bistro, Madison’s in Old Edwards Inn, The Ugly Dog - perfect after hiking. We wish we had gone to Lakeside, but it was fully booked during our stay. All in all a great first visit to Highlands!

This home is wonderful! It is so functional. I love the way the bedrooms are spaced out with so much privacy. The open kitchen/living space was enjoyed by all, and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit. The bedrooms are nicely decorated with very comfortable beds. The whole house was very clean. The fireplace added a feeling of coziness. We all enjoyed walking to town for great shopping. We even stopped along the way to visit the ducks! Thank you for a great Thanksgiving… will definitely return!!

We loved our time in Highlands at this wonderful cozy home close to town. I was there with a group of women friends. Plenty of comfortable beds, renovated home with open floor plan and a great fireplace to sit near in the evenings. We walked to Sunset Rock hike and walked to dinner and shopping each day. I loved not moving our car except to drive to Cashiers one day. Great kitchen. The only reason I wouldn’t give it a 5 are the inside and outside chairs/furniture is light, plastic dining room chairs and not that comfortable.

Here’s the thing…the pictures don’t do it justice. It was immaculately clean and well-appointed. Everything needed was provided for a comfortable and laid back stay. The host was super responsive to messages. We stayed here for a half week and it was perfect for my family, grandparents, and cousins family. We had a blast exploring the area. Will definitely be booking again!

The title says it all. The layout of the house gives everyone privacy but also keeps you together. The yard/property is ideal for enjoying the time you have at home, but also the fact you can be in downtown Highlands after a beautiful 7 minute walk is beyond amazing. Laird is the ultimate host and makes your stay as simple as it can be from a logistics standpoint. Our next trip to Highlands will be based around this house’s availability!

This house is so spacious, with a great open floor plan. It is beautiful and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The house is in a gorgeous setting and a short walk to Main Street where all the shops and restaurants are located. I would definitely recommend this wonderful house.

This house was perfect for our family! Our son was married and this house made the weekend so much better. The property manager responded promptly to any questions almost immediately. We lost power and he helped us reset the septic pump alarm and the WiFi easily. I highly recommend!

This is a wonderful home for family. Two separate private living areas and very spacious family room and dining. Kitchen was extremely well stocked and front porch and yard were a great place to sit or play games. Incredibly clean and comfortable updated decor. We would definitely recommend and return again. Many thanks to the very attentive landords with our questions and providing a special family getaway.

Our daughter got married at Old Edwards and we got this place for my husband's brother's, their wives and my mother-in law to stay for the wedding weekend. It was a beautiful and comfortable place to gather and spend quality family time in between wedding activities! The owner was very responsive and the place was immaculate and very updated. The property is beautiful and extremely clean. It’s large and spacious with lots of gathering room for our group of 10 women. Its also beautifully decorated which enhances its comfort. It’s very close to town, so we walked there daily. It’s quiet and good parking for 4 SUVs. There were some complaints the beds were hard and there is a great opportunity for an outdoor fire pit, but otherwise we had a wonderful stay. Give it 5 out of 5 stars!!

We come to Highlands multiple times each year. This trip was multiple couples for the guys a golf trip. The entire weekend was perfect mainly due to this property. The entire home is spacious, very well appointed, and just in a beautiful setting. The house is perfect for multiple couples like we had. And the owners are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Incredibly well located (steps from town), beautiful property and stunning home! The owner is clear and easy to communicate with, nice and helpful. The house is exactly as the photos show (even nicer!), with 5 lovely bedrooms and perfect places to gather and enjoy time with family and friends. Beds are comfy and the house is well maintained. A star property, you won’t be disappointed!
