Rustic house that is amazingly close to the heart of town. The house is charming, and a nice spot for 2 families and could be used for 3 even.

We loved our time at this property. Sally, owner and Frank the manager, were extremely helpful and intent on making this a wonderful vacation. It's proximity to down town was fabulous. The backyard garden and roses were lovely. Beds and baths, kitchen and living areas did not disappoint.
Only warning are the steep stairs for anyone that has a mobility issue, as all beds are upstairs.
We loved it!

Traveled to Nantucket from NH with family, which included our 16 month old granddaughter, and had a wonderful time! The location is great, only a few minutes walk to the heart of downtown. The house was immaculate and filled with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, and the history of the place can be felt the moment you walk through the door. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the host very accommodating and friendly, which we really appreciated. There was a lot of literature on the history of the house and Nantucket in general, which my husband really enjoyed. Overall, an amazing property and would definitely stay again whenever we happen to return to Nantucket!

The owner of the house was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The house was spacious, incredibly unique and a beautiful blending of an antique sea captain’s home combined with up to date amenities. Great location- close to town and quiet street. Truly a unique experience as there were so many beautiful reminders of the past yet gracefully presented and very tastefully done. A home we will always remember.

Quality and character close to town
What a gem! The history of this house alone is the draw. The comfort, character, and amenities made our stay even better. We felt so welcomed and had one of our top 5 family vacations.

Interesting house
Beautiful historic house, lots of room, great hostess/owner - ran into her moving in -Sally is terrific.
Perfect location in town. Had all the beach stuff we needed and then some.
Only caveat I would say is if you have someone in your party that has trouble navigating stairs you may want to discuss with owner - stairs to bedrooms up stairs are small and winding - part of the charm for our crew!

Amazing home!!
I stayed in this wonderful home with my 3 sisters. The house was beyond my expectations. It has a rich Nantucket history and the accommodations are 5 star. We loved sitting on the patio at night and the garden was breathtaking. We had so much room to spread out, as there were two living rooms as well as a dining room that we used to enjoy our lobsters from Sayle's. The house manager was quick to respond to any questions we had, and it was a magical stay. I have been going to Nantucket for over 20 year, this was one of the best homes I stayed in. The location is so close to town, Children's Beach, Jetties Beach. and everything we needed. My sisters walked to town morning, noon and night. We loved our stay, we hope to be back again next year!!!

A Nantucket Gem
Our family loved staying in this beautifully restored quintessential Nantucket home conveniently located in-town where we wanted to be yet within walking distance of Jetties and Steps beaches. Spacious common areas and outdoor patio comfortably accommodated our three generations. This island home is one of our favorites, and its owner is welcoming and very helpful.

Wonderful stay in historic home
A fabulous in-town location and lovely home with lots of charm. This property had everything we needed for our family including plenty of linens, beach chairs as well as a large, well equipped kitchen which was a nice surprise for such an old home. The property owner as well as manager were in touch as soon as we arrived to make sure everything was in order.

Everything Perfect
This house is even better in person than the photos. It’s history is palpable and grounding, but yet the house still felt summery and light. It is surprisingly quiet despite the proximity to town. The owner and caretaker are wonderful.

Amazing space and wonderful amenities!
We spent two wonderful weeks in Nantucket at this beautiful home! There was more than enough space for our group of 5 adults. Loved the outdoor space and ease of access to town. The kitchen was equipped with everything we could imagine - including a blender and high-end coffee machine. We also had access to bikes, a grill, outdoor shower and beach chairs and towels! We hope to be back ASAP!

Lovely Home in a Perfect Location
True and authentic Nantucket cottage. Walk in and out of town, to the ferry, beaches. Couldn't be more ideally located. Outfitted with everything you would need for your stay- towels and beach chairs and a grill and everything you'd want in a kitchen and beautiful linens, towels and touches in the bathroom. We loved our stay!

Home Sweet Home!
We were so pleased the first time we stayed at this wonderful home that we keep going back every summer!
Kitchen: We walk off the ferry and right to the grocery store. Everyone carries a bag or two home to fill the very large refrigerator. Perfect way to start the week, a quick bite and a Whale's Tale beer on the patio! GIANT stovetop griddle, perfect for cooking a bunch of hot sandwiches or pancakes in the morning. Long farm style table in the kitchen and plenty of seating in the dining room, but we alway sit outside. More than enough pot, pans, dishes and glasses. Usually there are a few staples (tea, sugar, salt pepper, oil etc. (nice not to have to buy that for a short stay). If you like to cook at home, the outdoor grill is a great addition, but there are also many fun restaurants to choose from. Writing this review is really making want to be there right now ...
Bedrooms: Plenty of space to spread out in all of the bedrooms. We didn't use the studio bedroom, but it's a large private space with it's own stairway to the first floor. My kids are all in their twenties and were perfectly happy with their rooms/beds.
Workspace: This historic home has so many different areas for the family to spread out. Everyone in my family has had some sort of work to do while on vacation and we were always able to find a quiet, cozy spot to work. Inside, there is an area to use as a private office. Outside, we brought our laptops to the enclosed patio and worked around the spacious & quiet seating area. Big soft couches in the living room too.
Outdoor Shower: Another fun addition. My husband thinks this is the greatest thing ever. I haven't used it, but he said it's fantastic.
Yard: Meticulously maintained by a friendly gardner, lots of berries and flowers and the boxes on the front of the house are always in perfect condition. Some herbs in the yard too if you like to cook with them. Lots of room to put bikes in the garage. Spacious driveway for parking your car if you choose to bring or rent one.
Neighborhood: Quiet & close to town. We walk to town a few times a day. Lots of historic homes in the neighborhood. We also walk our dog through a nearby trail everyday and usually see a few other dogs for him to play with.
Amenities: Washer and Dryer look brand new and work great. Lots of beach towels in the laundry room to choose from. Linens are all soft and comfy. New addition of a few Dash and Albert rugs gave a fresh update this summer.

Lovely Home
The house is historic and therein lies its charm and quirks. It is full of antiques and has been modernized. The upstairs has 2 lovely bedrooms but the third bedroom is suited for small children only--it is not private, under rafters and the beds are too small for a teenager. The outdoor sitting area is small and minimally landscaped. The garage is nice for bike storage and the house had lots of beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. We walked and rode bikes every where. The house is close to the bike paths and downtown is easily walkable. This is a quiet part of town but the street is busy (at least in the summer). The owner was great to deal with and the property manager very helpful if we needed anything.

Beautiful house in the perfect location!!
I cannot say enough great things about this house. Such a beautiful and charming home. I would give it 5 plus stars if I could. It is very comfortable and welcoming to all. The house is kept in pristine condition and the owners Al and Margaret take fantastic care of the house. The location is prime and cannot be beat. An easy 5 minute walk from the ferry and to the water. It is a truly special house with an amazing history behind it. The renovations were done so well and it is clear that a lot of love and detail went into the work. Al, Margaret and Sally are truly lovely and caring people and were so helpful and kind. I can't wait to come back to such a special home in my favorite place.

Reflects all that is special about Nantucket
This is an historic home, beautifully furnished, with today's amenities. My family of five with children ages 15, 12 and 10 thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. The house has something for everyone. I loved, an early morning walk down a quiet Main street to pick up the morning paper then reading it with my coffee as I sat in the wicker chairs just off the courtyard, biking to the beaches and after a day in the sun winding down before a 2 block walk to town for eat dinner. Some nights we picked up fresh ingredients at Bartlett Farm and grilled. My children LOVED being able to walk to town and the Juice Bar by themselves for ice cream! Owners are very helpful and the pictures reflect the home accurately. The experience is one of a kind.

Wonderful Stay in a Lovely One of a Kind Home
We cannot say enough about the fantastic experience we had staying in this beautiful and charming home. If we could give it more than 5 stars, we would! The Cummings family did a wonderful job with the property, it is comfortable, welcoming and well-equipped for visitors. The location cannot be beat. It is a very special house, and it is apparent that the Cummings family has put a lot of love into its renovation. Al, Margaret and Sally are lovely people and were very helpful. We hope we can stay here agin next year! Best regards, The Smith Family

Wonderful, well-appointed home
Dear Margaret and Al,
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home! It is a remarkable place – full of history and charm (the pictures do not do it justice)! The location was ideal and the accommodations were fantastic. My sister, her family and our family thoroughly enjoyed a quiet respite as the summer ended.
We definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to appreciate Nantucket Island and all it has to offer.
Warm regards,
Kate Theroux

Spectacular Island Retreat
Just want to say that we had a lovely time in Nantucket. Sally was wonderful to work with. Kitchen does have absolutely everything you need and the location is perfect. More room than needed. Only downfall was there were some cleaning issues either due to the cleaning crew or the prior renters. Also, as an FYI there are only 2 small tv's in the house - one in the very small family room (living room is overly spacious) and one in the bonus room that has separate stairwell.

Spacious, great location, couldn't ask for more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - plenty of space, fabulous location with the feel of old Nantucket charm. Right on the edge of town and a short walk to all of the great spots town has to offer. Great outdoor space to enjoy the weather and grill. Friendly owners, accommodating and helpful, truly couldn't ask for more!

Classic Nantucket in-town home with Inglenooks
Coming from a 1480 house in England we were extremely at home in this 1758 one! The kitchen is well equipped and has a plethora of gadgets, this leads through to the TV area which has full cable and then onto the panelled sitting room. AC is good and there are plenty of bathrooms - there is an additional room upstairs for TV as well with separate staircase. The off street parking is extremely useful and indeed necessary being so close to the centre - Bean coffee is literally 90 seconds walk. There is a useful outdoor shower after the beach and a paved sitting area off the entrance hall. We would thoroughly recommend this property for comfort and location and the road does not see much traffic unlike some other roads nearer the harbour.

Magical Home
There really isn't enough room to describe how incredible our stay was. This home is magical and was perfectly described. It is clean, very well-cared for, and has all the amenities of a luxury rental home without compromising it's old-world charm. It's location is perfect (one block to town!). We had coffee on the beautiful, slate patio every morning amongst the climbing roses. The furnishings are comfortable and nice and the care-taker and owners were very quick to respond when we had questions (if no one else has issues figuring out how to turn on the kitchen sink then forget I mentioned it!). We were so happy with this lovely home that we checked the calendar even before we left to see if it was available for our next visit. Lovely home...lovely owners. Thanks for such a memorable stay.
