About this house rental
Incandescence has 5 bedrooms, each with its own private, full, tumbled-marble bathroom, plus there are 2 half baths and an outdoor shower. Our home is on a private, 3-acre property ten minutes from town, and very close to a shuttle bus stop and the bike path. We are a mile and a half from a pristine, secluded beach. Guests rave about the two large living rooms, the well-outfitted, gourmet kitchen, and the fact that large groups can spread out (with everyone finding their own special niche spot), but even small groups find the house warm and inviting. No pets allowed, sorry.

The moment you drive up the circular shell driveway and see the stonework, gardens and wrap-around farmers’ porches of Incandescence, you're going to feel all the comfort and delight of being at your own dream home. From sunrise flooding the breakfast area until the last rays of the sun set over the moors, the house glows with the beauty of Nantucket’s ever-changing light. Custom built and brimming with unique architectural details and appointments of the highest quality, it is a house sophisticated enough for entertaining but comfortable enough to just kick off your flip flops, put on some music and relax after a tough day at the beach. Incandescence is decorated in a warm beachy style with plenty of antique pine, white slipcovered furniture, and decorative accents in ocean shades. And although this large (4,800 square foot) house comfortably sleeps 12, it is chock full of unpretentious places, intimate spaces, and the quirky little hideaways that make a classic Nantucket home linger forever in your memory ...
The Bedrooms and Baths: Incandescence is spacious enough for two or even three families to vacation together. Each of the five bedrooms has its own beautifully tiled en suite bath, and there are two half baths off the 'public' rooms.
The huge master bedroom on the second floor boasts a king bed, a private covered deck, and a spa-sized, luxurious, tumbled-marble bath with a jacuzzi tub, from which there are beautiful views across Tom Nevers and out to sea. The master bath also has his & her sinks and a large two-person, glass-enclosed shower with double shower-heads and multiple wall jets.
Two of the bedrooms on the first floor - one with a king bed, and one with a queen bed and a futon -are off a large, private hallway. Both rooms are large (particularly the king), and could easily serve as second 'masters' when two or three families vacation together. Another bedroom with two twin beds is off the living area. Bedroom #5 has a queen bed and is on the second floor.
The 'Living' Areas: The living room features cathedral ceilings, high gable windows, a wood burning fireplace, and French doors out to the deck, which is equipped with table, chairs, umbrella, gas grill and an outdoor shower. A wonderful gourmet kitchen with butter-yellow glazed cabinetry, limestone counters and stainless steel appliances awaits your culinary flair; an open floor plan to the large dining area allows hosts and guests to feel equally at home. Off the kitchen is a charming, inviting family room with stereo, TV and games for the whole family, plus a gas-fired fireplace to take the chill off those late summer/early Fall nights. Air conditioning, cable, high speed Internet, and WiFi allow you to remain comfortable and stay in touch, even on the “Far Away Land.”

Place was great! Owners are super nice , Ron was there when we got there working on things. We understood there was bad weather up to our stay so there was lots to be done in cleanup/repairs. The house is huge - wish there were more TV’s (personal preference - there was only 1 in whole house) but we were out and about anyways. Recommend for all families!

Absolutely beautiful property in a quiet and central area. Easy drive to town, the beach, and Sconset. Communications with the owners were great. We had a wonderful stay. Our only disappointment was that the airlines cancelled all flights ahead of Hurricane Lee so we missed two days making it an expensive trip. Trip insurance didn't help. It was our first time to Nantucket and this property made it a wonderful experience. We'll be back.

Beautiful, fully private getaway. Ideal for large groups with plenty of space inside and out for everyone. Two living rooms, endless, outdoor spaces, large bedrooms, well equipped, helpful and friendly hosts. Highly recommend!

This house accommodates 12 people very comfortably, which is a rarity on Nantucket. Lots of different places to sit and enjoy your company, from outdoor decks and lawn chairs, to comfortable couches and arm chairs throughout the house. Appliances are top notch. Location is excellent - only a short (15min) bike ride to Siasconset, and an island bus stop at the end off Tom Nevers Road. Perhaps the best thing about this house is the obvious fact that it is maintained with love and care, and the owners are nearby, accessible and accommodating if needed, without interfering with your stay. Check-out is a breeze compared to other VRBO's. My only hesitation in leaving such a glowing review is that others might book this property before me. Alas, rent this house - you won't be disappointed. :)

My family & friends had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Incandescence this past weekend! The house is located approx. 10 min from town and has amazing walking paths and beach nearby. I highly recommend this listing for large parties as it has 5 spacious bedrooms complete with their own bathrooms! The house was tidy, linens were plentiful, and the outdoor spaces were wonderful. Do expect the owners to pop by from time to time as their property is large - but Ron was extremely communicative and kind. Don’t hesitate on booking this wonderful escape!

What a wonderful, long weekend we had in Nantucket! So lucky to have found Incandescence ... it was perfect for us. We were on the island for a family wedding and looking for a place for 2 couples and 2 adult children. Ron & Lauren's home was perfect! It actually has 5 bedrooms all with private baths! That is hard to beat. Bedding was nice, kitchen was well stocked, lots of info on local things to do, etc. The communication with the owners was great all the way through. They quickly answered any questions we had throughout the booking process and our stay. Plenty of space for other family members to visit and hang out. Even had great wildlife...deer, bunnies, lots of birds, and the neighbor dog, Scout! Thank you for a memorable weekend!

Beautiful secluded large house
A beautiful spacious house with 5+ bed rooms and 7 baths! Tons of living space and nice outdoor tables that easily accommodated our family group of 3 adult couples and 3 kids. The owners, Lauren and Ron were very communicative and a pleasure to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay.

Girls Weekend in Nantucket
This beautiful home is situated on a large, quiet piece of property about 10 minutes from town. It is warm, inviting, and comfortable. We stayed with a group of 12; everyone had a comfortable bed and enough space. The home has two large living spaces, a dining room, an outdoor back deck, and a front porch. We utilized all of the spaces during our long weekend. Lauren and Ron are friendly, accommodating, and easy to get in touch with! I would highly recommend this property to any large group looking for a home away from home on Nantucket! We cannot wait to come back again!

Exceeded expectations
Wow - this listing really doesn’t do this property justice. It was the gift that kept on giving! We had a group of 12 girls and were able to sleep comfortably, hang outside on the deck or front lawn for coffee, and even were provided enough beach chairs and towels for everybody! Lauren and Ron were very communicative the whole time and when Ron had to stop by once to go into the basement he was super respectful of our privacy (but SUCH a nice guy with great sense of humor!) would stay 100 times over. Thank you L&R!

We had the best time at the property. Ron and Lauren communicated well and the house and yard were meticulously cared for. Can’t wait to plan another trip there!

Perfection
This is a beautiful home with room to spare. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There is a very large yard and the children were able to run around and play lawn games easily. The hosts were very welcoming and responded quickly to the anything about which we had questions.

Fabulous Vacation
Our family enjoyed a wonderful vacation on Nantucket. The house was in the perfect location to travel to all points on the island. It was spacious and allowed everyone in the family to have their own private space if needed. The kitchen was well equipped and the livinig spaces were spacious. The Master Bedroom had a lovely bathroom and outside patio. Ron and Lauren were responsive and accomodating. I would highly recommend and would definately return.

Making Incandescent Memories
This is a fantastic home that fits large families. It is laid out perfectly and was just right for our family of 8 adults and 2 two-year olds. We enjoyed the porch and the outdoor yard. Our little boys loved the bunnies in the yard. This house has it all. Ron and Lauren are awesome and the best hosts ever. The Clays from Georgia highly recommend Incandescence.

Girls weekend trip
We very much enjoyed our stay here. We were a large group of women and the house provided everyone with plenty of space. Each bedroom having its own bathroom was great. We also loved all the different out door seating areas. We cooked a lot of our meals and we were able to find everything we needed. Lauren and Ron were lovely and always very helpful.

What a lovely place to stay! On the quiet side of the island, the house is very cozy and welcoming. A great experience!

Outstanding house in Tom Nevers
This is a beautiful spacious house with 5 bedroom all with their own full bathrooms. Gorgeous yard with huge grill and many porches. Very well stocked kitchen: we cooked and baked a lot. Easy drive into Nantucket town or ‘Sconset or rest of island. Lots of books for kids and adults, beach toys/chairs. WiFi excellent. Kids room with TV that has Netflix & Amazon prime for shows as well as a whole set of Magic Treehouse books and other toys.
The master suite is truly fabulous with private deck and a luxury bathroom with a multi jet shower (that has great water pressure in all jets!) and jacuzzi with a wonderful view.
You are surrounded by nature: lots of birds, deer, bunnies and even bald eagles. Quick walk to central nature preserve with cranberry bogs.
Also, the owners were wonderful, quick response to all texts with how do I questions, came over to fix minor issues. We would absolutely stay here again and give it our highest recommendation.

Great house and location in Tom Nevers. Close to bike paths, beaches and Siasconset golf course. The houses layout would work great for larger groups / families looking to stay in the same house. Also works great for smaller groups.

Lovely family home in delightful, private location. Open, easy communication with the landlord made everything so easy for us, coming from Texas. We are excited to come back next year!! Many thanks for so much fun!!

Spacious house with a good sized yard and privacy
Large property, that can expand to sleep a lot of people (10 as is, up to 14 I think?). Home has been upgraded and expanded by the current owner, so a lot of work has gone into it. If you are looking in the Tom Nevers area this is a good choice. Most rooms have full baths which is nice (water is very hot, so be careful). The master has an impressive bathroom, and it's a bright room so if that bothers you bring some night/sleep masks. If you are going into town it's about a 30 min bike ride/10-15 min car ride, ($20 uber depending on the time).
We hadn't planned on using the yard but our kids loved having the space outside.
Beach chairs were provided and worked great. The widows walk provided an amazing view (can see a lot of ocean on a clear day).
Hosts were easy to communicate with, and very friendly. We'd certainly consider staying here again.

Unbelievable house with equally amazing renters
From the moment we arrived to Incandescence Lauren and Ron made sure our stay was perfect. Every aspect was meticulously planned so that we could maximize our time on Nantucket. Additionally, the pictures so not do the beauty of the Incandescence and the surrounding property justice. I highly recommend this for anyone.

Lovely oasis... But some maintenance issues!
Overall, this is a beautiful spot. You feel yourself to be on your own in nature, away from the summer bustle of Nantucket. The inside of the house has many appealing gathering places. However the house is need of some tlc. The couches are well used and could use a refresh. Multiple issues arose: a balcony door that wouldn't stay closed, the clothes dryer wasn't working, some spotty internet problems, a bathroom light fixture spontaneously exploded, some features of kitchen appliances weren't working. Nothing major, but an accumulation of small things. In general the landlords were very responsive to issues. However, when they left the island for a family wake, there was no backup person to help us for about 24 hours. Then when I pressed them a bit by email to get some help, one of the landlords responded to the effect that I was being "insensitive". The landlords returned to the island and all reported problems were addressed. But I did not appreciate the landlord's email response to me.

Perfect return visit!
I reviewed this property last year; I'm reviewing it again after our return stay this year to reiterate all the positive things I said last year. Spacious, well maintained, with everything you'd want for a great Nantucket vacation. The only negative last year was the slow internet access, but that has been fixed and the wifi this year was as fast as any I've used. Highly recommended!

Everything you'd want!
We had a great stay in Incandescence -- we've stayed in many houses on Nantucket over the years and this one is at the top of our list. Spacious, well maintained, everything you'd want or need, and in a great location right near the Milestone Road bike path and a 3 minute drive from the beach. It's particularly good for 2 families sharing, because two of the bedrooms are separated from the rest in their own area of the house, so you can have some privacy if needed.
The only issue we had was the variability of the internet connection, but Lauren and Ron will be upgrading it this winter. Cell coverage is good so if you can use your phone as a wifi hotspot that solves the problem (that's what we did).
We'll be going back next year, and hopefully for many years to come!

A great Nantucket home!
We have been going to Nantucket for several years now and this was our first year staying at Incandesence. We were a party of 12- 8 adults and 4 kids. This house was perfect for our group. We had enough space to comfortably gather while at the same time we never felt on top of each other. We had a great time cooking dinners, lounging in the hammock, and the kids loved running around and chasing the bunnies in the yard! It was the perfect mid island location. Away from the hustle and bustle but very convenient to the store, restaurants and beaches. Lauren and Ron were great hosts! We had a great time mACKing memories at Incandescence

Private, Perfect Oasis for Large Groups & Families
We rented Incandescence for 4th of July week with our group of friends and had the greatest time. Ron and Lauren were beyond accommodating and were quick to fix any issues we had. The house is spacious, private, and beautiful - absolutely perfect for a bigger group or large families. So nice to not be on top of each other in a rental home, and we also loved that it was a little secluded, especially with how crazy the town gets during the 4th! About a 20-30 minute bike ride into both the town or the nearby Tom Nevers beach (probably one of my favorites in Nantucket!). This house will hold a very special place in our hearts and we highly recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Perfect...
We were a group of old friends, with a couple kids, on the island for a wedding, and we wanted to find a big house to accommodate everyone in a true and relaxed way, and Incandescence did that and more. The fact that all bedrooms have full baths, and the way the house flows, means that everyone felt like they had a luxurious amount of space and privacy. We cooked big feasts, spent a lot of time in the house, walked to the gorgeous beach, and slept peacefully. Ron and Lauren were exceptional hosts in all ways, and we highly recommend this place.

Beautiful home on a wonderful island!
We had a wonderful time at Incandescence over Labor Day Weekend! The home was beautiful and extremely well maintained. We had 11 people (4 "couples" and 3 "singles") sleep very comfortably. For having so much space, the home is still full of charm! For example, there is an "widow's watch" on the roof providing a gorgeous 360 degree view of the island.
There is a bike path entrance very close by, so we were able to rent bikes and bike 15 minutes down to the quaint town & beaches in Sconset. We didn't have a car on the island, but there is a WAVE bus stop right outside the house which takes you into town.
Nantucket is amazing – we enjoyed Cisco Brewery, Tom Nevers Beach, Sconset walking path, and dinners downtown. We unfortunately had a bit of bad weather at the end of the trip, but the homeowners were very accommodating and let us rent for another day (since the ferries were cancelled).
Overall, we loved our stay and would highly recommend it to a group of girlfriends, a family, or a few couples looking for a nice place to stay on the island. Hopefully we will be back!

lovely family home
My husband, myself and our 3 married children and grandchildren spent a week in this beautiful home. It was roomy and very clean. The grounds are beautiful and it is very close to beautiful bike paths. If the weather is not good it is a delightful and immaculate home to spend your time. Lauren & Ron are a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this home.

The perfect vacation home for our family!
Incandescence was the perfect home for our family vacation. The house exceeded our high expectations! It was located at the end of a secluded drive and was beautifully decorated with plenty of room for 8 adults and 4 young children. The master bedroom was especially luxurious! Incandescence is just minutes away from Tom Nevers beach and the town of Sconset. The owners were very responsive to our needs and immediately replaced the propane tank so we could use the barbecue. We ate most of our dinners at the house and the kitchen was well equipped - they even had two large lobster pots! We would enthusiastically recommend this home to our family and friends and hope to return ourselves!

Stately yet Cozy Home, Quintessential "Nantucket"
We spent a week in this lovely Nantucket home, and to say it was hard to leave is an understatement. My family and extended family all came together for the many celebrations the week held: My mother's 60th birthday, my daughter's 6th birthday, and my parent's 39th wedding anniversary! Lots to celebrate, and this home was the perfect spot to congregate.
We spent most nights in the home, cooking meals and enjoying the inside and outside space. The backyard deck was a perfect spot for dinners and chats.
My husband and I are in training for an Ironman in August, so we definitely got to see the island during our runs and biking on the nearby path. We visited many beaches, and visited many of the sites... Cisco, Sankaty Lighthouse, downtown, and a ton of beaches, so it was imperative that we had our car to travel around.
I highly recommend this home and can't wait to return next year!

Beautiful and comfortable home away from home
Lovely house and property! It is very generously sized, providing enough room for up to 12 people. Perfect for a gathering of friends or for more than one family. Beautifully furnished and decorated, yet very comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. We celebrated my 50. birthday at Incandescence with a number of friends, and everybody loved it. Glad we came!

This proptery is amazing!
Me and a small group of friends stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend. The property was perfect for this trip. The secluded house is not too far from town or the beach, which makes it a ideal spot. Plenty of showers for all and would definitely stay again. Lauren and Ron were excellent hosts and were more than welcoming to their wonderful home.

Incandescence " A SPECIAL PLACE "
Comfortable, Private, Relaxing, Serenity!
Thank you for sharing your home with us.
The warmth of your home gave us pure comfort and relaxation. It was a "WOW" expression as we came through the front door. So beautifully decorated. We loved the master bedroom, the master bath gives you the feeling of being at a luxury spa. The home is equipped with everything you need. No details over looked. The homeowners were very gracious and accommodating. They went far and beyond on referrals. It was like having our own private consignor. The home is so peaceful on a private lot nestled on a nature preserve. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and spending quality time on the porch with our family. The home accommodated our family of four generations very comfortably. We all had our own special places.
We celebrated our nephew's wedding on Nantucket Island. The ceremony was at St Mary's Our Lady of the Isle. Such a beautiful, quaint church. The welcome dinner was at The Westmoor Club, such a beautiful spot on the island for any event. The reception was at The Galley Beach restaurant. Highly recommend to all who enjoy having drinks and a meal enjoying the views of the beach. We had brunch at CRU downtown on the waterfront. Definately a place to enjoy seafood. We enjoyed a tour of the Mariners Museum.
This home is not your typical rental home. It is a very special place!
Other than attending our events, we actually just wanted to stay at your home and enjoy it.
Thank you!
