This house is amazing, comfortable, and provides the amenities needed to start the stay. The location is walkable to downtown Bar Harbor and a very easy and short drive to Acadia. My group of friends enjoyed coming back to the house to relax after long days of hiking.

Most definitely a 5 star+++. House was absolutely immaculate. Very comfortable house. Location was the best. Less than 5 min drive to town and park entrance. Communication with owners quick & friendly. Right next to Kebo Valley golf. Kitchen is big as are bedrooms & baths. All over a super experience. Quiet neighborhood. Would define stay here again without even looking elsewhere.

The location of the house is outstanding. Far enough away from the overly busy downtown Bar Harbour, yet only a 4 minute drive. We could also have quiet relaxation when wanted. Plenty of space, and an under 10 minutes drive to get into Acadia National Park by Cadillac Mountain.
Heather our host really set us up, great information on trails, recommendations for tours to try, and a connection that allowed some non locals to secure a primere table for the 4th of July fire works. By the way Bar Harbor does a top of the line excellent fireworks display. Folks were still raving about the fireworks when we were heading home 4 days later. We had a front row seat because of Heather. Forever thankful for the Memories, so much so I sent a thank you note to her before even filling this survey out.

The house we stayed in on Forrest Street was perfect for the 5 of us. It was clean and well cared for. The kitchen was adequately stocked and provided a huge pot to cook lobsters in which we did!!

Unreasonable cleaning expectation
The bad: We left the house in great condition. All things listed in book to do before we left we did. Owner charged additional fee because they claimed house was a mess and took 6 hours to clean. Claimed urine on bathroom floor, floors dirty, and that there was something baked onto stove top. Floors needed normal cleaning of a vacuum and quick mop when we left which is standard cleaning. We started laundry as instructed and completed as many loads of laundry as asked in book. Clean laundry was left on dining room table with a note it was clean. All linens were stripped from beds as requested They have cleaners come in and cleaning would have been nothing more than routine. Urine on bathroom floor…ages were 10-77 and all are potty trained. Baked on them on glass stove top. Perhaps we missed that but it also happens sometimes when you cook. I think they were more upset that it was a new stove which I understand but it happens. We cleaned up every night and didn’t notice it so it if it was there which makes me think it wasn’t a HUGE area though I can understand their unhappiness if it was a new stove. If we did miss it, I am sorry but again, it happens and wasn’t done on purpose nor is the stove inoperable.
If you stay, plan to clean the whole house like you’re leaving it for the next people vs the cleaning service to come in a do a routine cleaning after you leave…bathrooms, floors, etc. We were charged an extra fee because I pointed out when I stripped my bed, as instructed, I also removed the mattress cover and the mattress was all stained underneath so if that was the issue ( before they told me the bathrooms, etc) that was an issue with the cleaners Vs anything we did. They decided to remove the extra fee but kept the $350 cleaning deposit. Claimed it took 6 hours to clean the house. I am not sure how that was possible. 2 kids and 5 reaponsible adults stayed there. We cleaned up daily. Had it not been for this situation, I would 100% have returned because the property and location is phenomenal and the house is lovely.
The good: everything else, except the outrageous claim the house was a mess when we left, was absolutely amazing. As long as you’re willing to make sure the place is 100% spotless and I mean SPOTLESS, I’d highly recommend

Comfortable, cozy and convenient
Great home on a small residential street just a few minutes from an entrance to Acadia NP and to downtown Bar Harbor. Home is well-kept, beds are comfortable, everything worked. We had a small problem with tree fruit falling on the path to the door and squashing on a windy day. Heather responded with help immediately. We recommend staying here!

Vacation to remember (not so much)!
The home was nice besides a few issues that we had with the property, which included an A/C unit in the master bedroom. The condensation of the unit kept dripping on my husband and me. We didn't use it after the second night. A missing lobster pot(which the owner made arrangements for us to get a new one since she was unavailable) and a few items that were left dirty, the grill and the home vacuum.
The house was in a nice location and within walking distance to Bar Harbor and driving distance to Acadia National Park.
For the most part we enjoyed our stay while we were in Bar Harbor we ran into issues after we left the property. If you plan on staying at this property please take before and after pictures. Lesson learned!!! While there was a cleaning fee for the property there were also instructions left at the property
(have all the trash bagged and taken to the side of the house, run the dishwasher as you left ( we washed the remaining dishes and left them to dry) bring down the sheets and leave them in the laundry room. We followed these instructions, The kitchen floor needed to be cleaned and the rugs need to be vacuumed that is all. In a follow up conversation I told the owner about the A/C but she never responded. However she put in a claim for damages and held our security deposit claiming we ruined the mattress pad and pillows and that we didn't clean up before we left.
We are still waiting to hear back from the owner about the deposit. We have had numerous conversations with VRBO.
This is not how we wanted our family vacation to end.

Great location
Beautiful home close to town and bike/hiking trails. Owners were great to work with. Only complaint was the mattress on the bunk bed for my teenage grandson, he said it was uncomfortable. Everything else was awesome!

Great Week
The house is very comfortable. We found it to be a great place from which to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It is a short drive away to both the town and the entrance to the park. We enjoyed our time in this house. The check in and communication with the owner was simple and helpful. Covid restrictions have changed how owners are able to prepare their facilities and we appreciated the care given to this home prior to our arrival. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place close to Bar Harbor.

Clean Home in Great Location
What a great week we had in Bar Harbor at this property! We were traveling as a family of 5, kids aged 6, 3 and 1. The home was spotless upon arrival and check-in super easy. We brought all of our own kid items, but there was a pack n play and high chair there as well. We had to do some creative baby proofing and if you're traveling with a baby and need to block the stairs, we found the bench in the dining room was the perfect size to move in front of the stairs (much to my son's chagrin ;) The location of the home is great! It's close to the town of Bar Harbor (but in a quiet neighborhood), Acadia National Park and the beach.
Visit Abel's Lobster - it has beautiful outdoor seating right on the water and the food was great! Also Cadillac Mountain is a must - It's around the corner from the home, and our three kids loved climbing the rocks at the summit for hours! Also Jordan Pond (although the restaurant was overrated in our opinion), Thunder Hole, Nature Center and Bar Island were among other favorites for our family!
One suggestion for the home I have would be to have some community and family games and activities in the home. We couldn't possibly have packed our minivan any more full to bring anything else, and it would have been nice to have some lawn games for the outdoor space, and some indoor family games to play as well, and books to read. Perhaps they were not present because of covid, but just a suggestion for future use.
Thanks for letting us use your home, we had a fantastic week!!!

Clean and Comfortable
This home was perfect for what we were needing. Our kids each had their own rooms and my parents and husband and I each had a comfortable, private room as well. The house has a big kitchen and a large dining room table that allowed us to eat our meals together. The home was very clean and everything was as described in the listing. We enjoyed that the tv’s in the house were equipped with Roku and we could all sit comfortably in the living room together. The house is just outside of the downtown Bar Harbor area and was nice and quiet. We walked to downtown one day but usually chose to drive out of convenience. The house is located near Acadia and we had no trouble getting to and from the park each day. The appliances were very nice and cooking on the stove was great! It was a wonderful home away from home.

We stayed here while visiting the park - location is ideal and can't be beat! At first we had a mishap with the cleaning but our host was very fast to make things right and make sure our stay was comfortable. I absolutely recommend this place to any group wanting an ideal spot by Acadia National Park!

Wonderful rental……clean, spacious, air conditioned, great location to both Bar Harbor and Acadia, and comfortable in every way! The owner has furnished the house with care and attention to every small detail! The neighborhood is dense with houses but quiet; the neighbors were great! Our family of 5 adults could not have been happier with our week long vacation! Thank you Heather! We will definitely return!

Excellent stay
Amazing place, very big and clean, close to downtown and Acadia National Park. Everything well thought of, we were happily surprised to find a portable crib in a master bedroom. One night we also enjoyed some burgers on the grill in the patio. Would definitely recommend.

Great place to wake up in each morning and come back each night after enjoying Acadia and Bar Harbor
As first time renters through VRBO, we really appreciated Heather making things easy for us from finalizing the reservation through check in and check out. The house was clean, bright, and welcoming when we got there. We were unsure how well our two families of four would fit in there, but it worked out great. While we ended mostly driving into town when we wanted go there, some of our group did make the walk a few times. Since the week we went was a bit warm, it was great to have the in room AC units in parts of the house, as well as the room fans. We all had a great time and we highly recommend this property.

Located Well and Convenient
The house is pretty new and well kept. Well equipped with anything you need in the kitchen. Neighborhood is good and very close to the Park. Rode my bike (easily) to the Park without having to put it on my car. Also close to Cadillac Mountain for sunrise and stargazing. Stove ran out of propane, but owners got it taken care of immediately - no muss, no fuss.

Our stay at 23 forest st.
The house was very clean, well kept and up to date. It was actually more beautiful in real life than in the pictures I saw at the site. The little deck in the back is lovely.
The location is on the money. It was about twenty minutes walking distance to the town's main street and 7 minutes if you preferred to drive. It was also very close to some of the Acadia park entrances The neighborhood was quite as well. I will definitely go back and stay there again.

Incredible Location and Home!
This place is TOP NOTCH! So close to town, the neighborhood is fantastic for families and children or anyone for that matter. Host's are so on top of it, so responsive. If this is available for your stay, BOOK IT! It is the best.
You are in Bar Harbor, but not in the busy areas, you have room to breathe. As well, you have the golf course and trails right in your back yard. I can wake up from here and walk/run to the top of cadillac mountain via the Gorge Path or Kebo Mountain, take your pick. It's in the park! Doesn't get any better than this!

Lovely house in a good location
This house was just as advertised. It was much bigger than my friend and i needed but we loved the space. The furniture is new and comfortable. The kitchen is large and well stocked. The 4 bedrooms are nicely furnished and comfortable.
There is a nice back porch that we didn’t get a chance to use except for chatting with some neighbors about their lobster traps .
We didn’t find it within walking distance but I have a bad knee so walking that distance wasn’t something I was willing to do. But, it is just a few minutes drive from downtown so that wasn’t an issue. It is a quiet street with friendly neighbors. I would definitely stay there again.
