This is really a million dollar location overlooking a fairly undisturbed beach - dog walkers during the day and 2 or 3 campfires at night. The house is older and could use extensive renovation. But, the decks, patio, hot tub and whale/dolphin watching more than make up for it. The kitchen is adequate, - don’t expect to be able to do a lot of cooking - fortunately you don’t have to since there are tons of restaurants and take outs in the area

If it weren't for being right on the sand.... The beds are awful. Dishes in the cabinet are not clean due to a very gross dishwasher. Kitchen drawers need some attention, they are dirty. The kitchen overhead lights are full of bugs. The house phone didn't work which was not right because the cell service is awful. TV remotes didn't work since the batteries were dead. This is an older home that just needs some attention and TLC which could easily be overlooked if some details were worked out.

This house could not be located in a better spot. Right in the beach with beach access next to the house. It was very clean. Definitely needs some updates but it’s a rental so you expect that to some degree. Would definitely rent again

Our family had an incredible time at this beautiful Santa Cruz Property. We spent a week lounging on the beach, playing in the waves, taking in the ocean views from the backyard and balconies, and enjoying the beachside town. Having private parking so near to the beach was a great feature of this property. The entrance to the beach was just steps away from the property. To enter the beach we had to climb down a few rocks (which was no problem for myself, my wife, and our 4 year old) but I can imagine an individual with more limited mobility may have needed to walk one block over to use the stairs (still close and convenient.) The kitchen was well outfitted, the laundry machines worked well, beds and couches were comfortable, and the wifi was reliable. Bath towels were provided, but no beach towels were provided (not a problem, just something to plan for.) The management company was helpful and friendly, and made both check in and check out very easy. We felt so spoiled staying here, and would love to come back.

I could have stayed forever. It had the beach house feel with a few modern convenances. The master bed was comfortable and nobody in our party complained about the other sleeping quarters. It was my granddaughters 21st birthday and I let her pick a couple nights at a VRBO in Santa Crus. She picked the Aquarius. Great choice Lacey!

The location of this house is incredible. The adults were able to sit on the deck/hot tub and watch while the kids went down to the beach and played for hours.
The house has everything we needed as far as cookware and extra linen.
The furniture is a bit dated, but, it really doesn’t matter because the only thing we were looking at was the beautiful ocean view.
The listing probably says this and I missed it, but, the two downstairs bedrooms are connected. So the people in the Queen room need to walk through the kid (bunk bed room) to get to their bedroom.,

We just had the most relaxing weekend at this property. Great views, nice and quiet area. Everything needed inside. we especially enjoyed the hot tub and chiminea.

Great house, the outdoor space was awesome. Ocean Views from everywhere. The projector was nice for movie night.

The house worked out well for me and my girlfriend’s long weekend get away.
We are in our 50’s and it would have been nice to know that there were stairs s block away to get down to the beach.
The high tide pooled water next to the property was quite sulfurous.
The hot tub was a bit murky and sandy when we arrived.
We laughed and walked, cooked and went out, and had a great weekend together!

Wonderful house with views from multiple decks and from the kitchen and living rooms. Lovely to hear the waves crashing in the distance and it was the shortest walk out to Cliff Drive for easy walking access to the beach. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare and eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. The clean and truly hot, hot tub was really the icing on the cake.

Gorgeous view
This house has an awesome view of the beach. The house was great for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). We enjoyed our stay!

The location is incredible with many spacious decks to enjoy the view over the ocean. The interior is dated, but functional and clean. Note that you must drive to the rental office to pick up keys which adds on a good 30 minutes in afternoon traffic (assuming your coming from Bay Area direction).

Perfect family meeting place
We spent three nights with two of our adult children and their partners. Morning sunrise soaks, evening smores at the fire pit, and long walks on the beach. We chose to cook most of our meals in house, and we had all the equipment that we needed. We made use of all parts of the house, and enjoyed all of it. Dn't hesitate to book this property now. You will be happy you did.

Location, Location!
While the house is older and a bit funky, the setting couldn't be better--3 decks right on the beach, superb hot tub, lots of comfortable chairs to watch the waves. Hammock was broken--only drawback--and checkout was earlier than that stated in the book.

Overall a great experience. The home is positioned so you see the sunrise and sunset (at least in late October). You can enjoy an early morning sip of coffee on the swing and take in the ocean sounds. The upper level was perfect for my mom (uses a walker) to move around, enjoy the outdoors on the deck, sleep in the master bed and use master bath. Large dining area seats 8 comfortably. Lots of cookware, bakeware and dishes (we mostly stayed/ate in).
No access to the beach directly from home due to a lagoon, just a walk around the block and we were there.
This was our first VRBO experience. I was not expecting there to be no bath toiletry amenities, had to shop, not a problem, just not convenient (thank you Target pick up).
I was very surprised to see a television set blocking an ocean view, just saying. We are not TV people. I would move it downstairs to the open area and maybe provide a table for games or other entertainment. Wifi was not working due to storm, and it was not repaired until the evening before our departure :( The cell booster did not work (Verizon) cell service was patchy.

Great location, mixed feelings
First of all, I will say the location and outside space is phenomenal. We throughly enjoyed our little private corner of paradise and hanging out side most of the trip.
One thing that detracted from the overall experience is that this property is in need of refreshing. The decking is in rough shape, the comforters on the bed were tired and old and so we’re the majority of the furnishings. For the price of admission I would expect that to be an easy fix for an owner to make in their investment property.
We had some issues with the previous guest leaving sand and dirt in the hot tub, half a joint (which our one year old found) and dog poop on the lower patio. The property manager was quick to send someone out to inspect and clean up the dog poop. The hot tub was not serviced during our entire week which was disappointing considering we paid for a hot tub servicing fee as well as the threat of additional fees if sand or dirt is in the tub.
I will caution families with small children on the spiral staircase. Our one year old was young enough that we had him in a pack and play in the basement, but it could be a little treacherous for young children that wake may wander at night, especially if you are in the master upstairs.
All in all we enjoyed our week at the beach. The setting of the property exceeded expectations, even if the some of the previously mentioned items fell a little short.

Location was perfect
House was Great. It smelled of like a nursing home. so we bought candles immediately to help eliminate the smell. Other than that it was great! Loved the view.

I stayed at the property in January and was a little disappointed. First off, the view was amazing and everything outside of the house was enjoyable. There were some down points to the inside of the house.
The minute we talked in the first thing we could smell was the odor of cat urine and it would knock you down.
There was a video camera in the kitchen that was plugged in at time time of our arrival. Once we noticed it, (which was a couple of days) there was small note next to it saying to unplug, however this was no where in the book.
The fridge had food left in it. Condiments mainly but there was food still in the fridge which was very off putting.
They state in the ad that the hot tub gets cleaned after every stay but it looked so bad that I was not about to use it.
The house in itself is in need to a complete makeover from new furniture (that you don't sink into), to rust on most everything, to bed that the sheets don't fit on.
Management is very hard to get a hold of past the time of your stay also. We had lost an important piece of jewelry in the house and have been trying to contact the property management company and are not getting any response,

We just spent a relaxing week at this property and we couldn't have liked it more. It's located right on an amazing beach, with great views in every direction. The jacuzzi on the back patio was the perfect place to unwind and take in the views. The BBQ and fireplace was perfect for cooking and hanging out on the patio to watch the sun go down.
The house is situated right next to a lagoon, so there's no direct beach access, but you access the stairs 1 block down. Not a big deal.
The checkin process is a little cumbersome, because you have to drive to Capitola and pick up the keys, but it wasn't a huge problem.

Amazing beach house
We had a wonderful time ...
Felt like home .. my 2 children loved the Spa .. kitchen had everything you could possibly need ... The mattress in Master bedroom was amazing to sleep on
.. only draw back on this property is that it had no direct access to the beautiful beach unless you like to climb over major bolders .. but I would still give this property a 10 out of 10
