About this house rental
3 bed 2 bath and 1 car garage on the canal. Close to Ana Maria Island beaches, IMG Academy and shopping. Newly renovated inside and out. Large master bedroom has a king size bed along with a full bedroom set and a desk. The two spare rooms have a queen size bed also with full bedroom sets. All bedrooms have tv’s in them.
Outside has a screened in heated swimming pool and covered Lani. The dock is 30 feet in length and also has a floating dock. Also on premise are two adult and one child kayak. Will to rent monthly, week or short time lease. Please email jrwmer@

Visited family that lives on the island and this was a perfect place to stay! It was quiet, clean and relaxing. It was close enough to the island without being in all the traffic. Communication with owners was easy and attentive. We will definitely stay here again!

Let me start by saying, we have stayed at many vacation rentals all over the country in the past 5 years and unfortunately we have high expectations based on pricing. I can tell you that this VRBO met and totally exceeded our expectations. The previous reviews are correct, the pictures do not do it justice at all! This place is completely remodeled and immaculate...even the baseboards are perfectly cleaned all throughout the house. There was not one spec of dust anywhere and no corners were cut where anything was concerned. The kitchen is well stocked with all cooking utensils, there is plenty are plenty of comfy places to sit and eat or to just relax. The pool area is crystal clean and my kids loved that it was deep! The dock looks brand new, it was cleaned off perfectly, no bird poop anywhere on any of the chairs (loungers and tiki chairs). Maureen even had fishing poles ready to go for fishing. You can fish for hours off the dock, with frozen shimp and catch a variety of fish. The kayaks were in perfect shape too, not old and beat up. The 4 bikes were in perfect shape. I mean this place was amazing. 10/10 isn't even enough compared to other places. Maureen was always quick to respond if we had questions and we would definitely stay here again. The neighborhood was completely quiet and very safe.

This home was perfect for us, well kept, very clean, and well stocked. Fished for hours right off the dock. Owner was very responsive and accommodating. Such a comfortable relaxing home, you are able to isolate, enjoy some peace and quiet, yet not far from restaurants and other conveniences. If you like to fish and relax. Stay here you won't be sorry.

Location was easy to get to and from beaches and places inland. Very clean house with plenty of room. Pool and outside areas were great to relax in, and so many different options to enjoy so everyone could find their own spot. Only downside is the pool didn’t have much of a shallow end so would be difficult for smaller kids to enjoy with a flotation device

We enjoyed our recent stay at Cottage on the Canal. The check in process was seamless and the house was exactly as shown in the pictures. We were in town for soccer and it was nice to find an umbrella and some chairs in the garage to help us with our stay. During our downtime, we enjoyed the kayaks, the firepit, sitting on the edge of the canal, and swimming in the DEEP pool.
Towels were very soft and coffee in the kitchen with everyday spices were a plus. Would love to rent this house again!

The house was in perfect conditions!! It was well equipped with everything we needed! The property itself is pretty big where you can enjoy the pool but also have a nice patio area where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. Big enough dock for our boat and there’s a boat ramp really close by to the house which is a big plus!!!

We loved this house it had everything we needed,. It is in a great neigborhood, and is close to all stores, restaurants, and beaches.

Spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house was so nicely decorated, and the kitchen was well equipped with all that was needed. So nice to have a TV in every room. We had many hours of fun in the pool, and nice beach towels right by the glass doors out to the pool. Awesome outdoor area! The seawall and dock were perfect for docking our boat, and for fishing off of. Plenty of room for parking cars and boat trailer in the driveway.

Maureen was great to work with. We had a conflict with the dates we booked at first. She was very prompt and accommodating in helping us switch our dates around. The property was perfect for our family of 5.Very clean, tons of space, back patio/pool was clean, and perfect to relax by. The neighborhood was quiet and full of very friendly people. Very close to the island, shopping, and the beaches. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

House was awesome and in quiet neighborhood with adequate parking for boat trailer and car. Pool was well maintained. Only thing you could complain about was water pressure in master bathroom but that is not an owner problem but new building codes for water conservation.

We had such a wonderful stay at Cottage on the Canal!! Everything was exactly as described and pictured (actually, it was better in person!!), and we will definitely be booking again for all of our stays in this area! Maureen was super helpful, quick to respond, and wonderful to rent from (we didn’t have any issues, just wanting to mention how great she was!). Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home!!

Great house with great shared spaces and good sized bedrooms. Location is perfect if you’re bringing your boat. Close to the Gulf Pass, sand bars, fishing spot, and restaurants. The pool is crystal clear and a great way to end the day after being out in the salt water all day. Would stay here again 100%

Maureen went out of her way to accommodate us at the last minute! We all went down to move my mom out of her home so it was a very stressful trip and the home was so nice to go back at the end of the day! I didn’t feel like we were a guest somewhere, it felt like going home. The kids had an amazing time swimming in the pool and gave them something to look forward to after a long day. Everything you would need is already there for you. Wish we had more time to enjoy the kayaks, bikes, etc! We will definitely go back!!

We were looking for a quick getaway on the water, with a dock, and a pool and came across your home! We were excited to find a place that could accommodate our boat at the dock and also our trailer overnight in the driveway. The boat ramp was just across Palma Sola Bay. The property and home was 1,000 times better than the photos or description! So much time and attention was put into making this house the perfect tropical vacation home! Each and every room was thought out in much detail, including the set up of the pool, and all of the indoor and outdoor sitting areas. It was also spotless, comfortable and safe. We spent most of our time outside on this short visit - in the pool, in the kayaks, and in all of the sitting areas with both our cocktails by evening and our coffee by morning. We were so surprised to find bikes, fishing equipment, coolers, and so many other extras that were not even mentioned. Beautiful home in a nice quiet area, with lovely neighbors. Perfect for families! We cannot wait to book again and stay a bit longer!

This home is even better than the pictures! Owners were extremely nice and respond promptly to any correspondence. Enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood and the canal as boats left and returned. The pool was heated and we used it everyday! This home is so close to everything we wanted to do on the beaches, ad great restaurants, all was easily accessible on Cortez Road.

This house was even better than the photos! The house is located in a safe neighborhood, was very clean and had a cute beach theme. The owner was very accommodating too. My daughter and I enjoyed the pool and kayaking the canals! I would stay here again! ❤️

We stayed here as a family of four in March 2023 and were very happy. The heated pool was great, especially for my young kids. We had everything we needed, stocked kitchen, bedding, towels, and even some cold beer and wine was provided which was a nice touch. The canal was great, was pleasantly surprised by the marine life, including dolphins. If I am being picky, could use a new bbq, and there were some screen panels missing on the roof of the lanai. but these were minor concerns. Would definitely come back.

We had a great stay at this property. A few little things cake up but nothing that stopped us from enjoying our stay. The pool was so great. We spent many hours floating in warmth. Traffic is crazy there but we just took it in stride and enjoyed our time.

We had a great time staying at this VRBO. The house is spotless, extremely well stocked and had everything we needed! The kayaks were great fun and we loved the heated pool. The owner was quick to respond to messages. Would absolutely stay here again!

The entire space was immaculate. Excellent TVs in each room with access to streaming services. Lots of things provided.. More than I would have expected.. EVERYTHING needed for both bathrooms. Plenty of dishwasher tabs, hand soap, dish soap, paper towels. I really couldn't ask for more. The pool was very clean and warm with beach towels provided (even though we didn't end up swimming). Outdoor eating areas in the shade and another in the sun. Well kept outdoor furniture with plenty of seating for many. I enjoyed my time in the sun on the adirondack glider. Being on the canal brought cool breezes and a peaceful vibe. Plenty of space for parking. Owner was kind and responsive to any questions.

In town for a Family Thanksgiving. We wish we had more time to enjoy all that was offered. Very beautiful and clean home. Pictures do not do it justice. Host was very accomidating and cocerned about our arrival and well being. Loved the morning coffee out on the water.

Perfect family house/location.
We truly enjoyed this property! We were able to cookout, swim in the pool, fish and kayak in the canal. The inside of the house was clean and had everything we needed. The location is perfect - easy drive to the beach, groceries, shops, restaurants, IMG Academy, Sarasota and more. As others have stated, the one challenge was the no-see um type bugs in the evening. But bug spray works and a citronella candle.

This was our 2nd time staying here while visiting our son and his family during his time in dental school. We celebrated Thanksgiving down here a couple of years ago and when looking for place to stay for his graduation this week, this was the first place we looked and fortunately it was available. Comfy beds, cold A/C, heated pool and a well stocked kitchen.

We celebrated Thanksgiving down here a couple of years ago and when looking for place to stay for his graduation this week, this was the first place we looked and fortunately it was available. This is a great home. We stayed 4 nights and brought our boat. Very clean, has everything you need. Much better in person than the pictures online. I recommend making sure you have bug spray, citronella candles, etc because the no see ums were bad out by dock area and patio. It would have been nice to have a blender ( only recommendation). Would definitely recommend and stay here again in future.
