Super cute, cozy little place close to everything you need in Sonoma. It's clean and comfortable. The decor is quirky and hippie-ish, in a good way! And there are goodies! There was a bottle of wine, 2 bottled waters, popcorn, candy, and tea and coffee. Monica is friendly, fun, and a most gracious host.
We lived it and plan to return.

Beautiful unique “secret garden” vibe. The casita was super comfy with thoughtful touches and extras . We played scrabble outside one night before walking to dinner. Amazing views! We come to Sonoma often and it was our favorite place so far by far! We will stay again!

Monica was a lovely host and the space was amazing. Thoughtful touches throughout, with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed the beauty outside space as well! A great location central to all that Sonoma and Napa have to offer. Our stay was not long enough but that just means we need to return!

Clean, wonderful location, comfortable stay in Wine Country USA
We had a great stay at this property in Sonoma, CA for my birthday trip to wine country! Upon arrival, everything was clean & well stocked. The owner provided ample amount of bath towels/washcloths/ etc. There was also complimentary shampoo, body wash, hand soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, coffee, water bottles, candy, and even a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. So thoughtful! The bed was comfy, and everything was decorated very thoughtfully and with the traveler in mind. The neighborhood was quiet, and very close walking distance to a few bars/ restaurants, and even a local high end spa. The gardens outside were just gorgeous & obviously well-cared for & maintained. There was a designated parking spot that was easy & convenient to go in and out at any given time. The area was private with a fence all around the property. The owner truly cares about making the guest have a wonderful stay here.
This is definitely a 5 star property, but I wanted to point out just a few small issues. The guest contact was nowhere to be found. We tried calling directly about an hour before check in time (around 3 pm) to ask if the property was clean & ready for us to possibly check in early & to this day (four days later) we still haven’t received a response or any acknowledgement. Luckily, the owner was on site at the time and was more than accommodating to help us get checked in early after a long day of traveling from Denver, CO to rest and relax before a nice dinner. We were so grateful for that! We also attempted to try and contact the guest contact a 2nd time when in the middle of the night the carbon monoxide alarm went off (around midnight). I fully, completely understand that it was very late at the time and the contact might not have been awake, but still… 2 days later after that incident and no acknowledgement either. A team of firefighters were there to help us almost instantly but upon arrival indicated that there was , in fact, no CO2 so it might be worth noting that the CO2 detector might need to be replaced so no one else has to experience the shock of the alarm going off in the middle of the night LOL. Additionally, we did not see a hot plate & there is no stove or oven in the unit. There is however, ample amount of coffee cups, a microwave, a refrigerator, etc. which is perfect for a short stay.
Overall, we are very happy with our stay here and would definitely recommend it to others!

Awesome
Stayed for 3 nights. Pictures do not do it justice...it is so beautiful and peaceful. Monica the owner was there in the main house and she was so helpful. Our first night we hung out on the back patio with her drinking wine and talking. It was so much fun. We will definitely be going back!

Beautiful and relaxing
What a beautiful home! Everything you would need is here for a perfect stay. The home is beautifully decorated as is the back and front yard area. Bed is comfortable, couch is comfortable so much thought has been put into this home. Highly recommend. My host was Monica and I couldn’t have asked for a kinder person. The house is close to everything and you won’t be disappointed. Book today!

Very cute place. We enjoyed our stay very much. Very clean.Couch and chair too low for older people, but we made it work.Suggestion is to make (continue) a walk from existing one to thelittle house. Will help keep small rocks out of shoe soles, and off floor. Just can't move belongings in and out without shoes.

Apartment was great- very open with natural light! Cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Still overpriced but I guess thats the area. My biggest complaint is all the platforms I had to handle for this booking. VRBO, Evolve, Concierge of the valley. Didn't know where to manage my reservation, who to contact or what platform to use. Very frustrating and confusing. Not happy with the lack of efficient customer service and won't be using VRBO again for this reason. It should be one platform and easy for customers. Thats the entire point! I got lots of emails from different companies regarding a VRBO rental. I had to create a VRBO account and an evolve account. A true pain to manage even though I was paying all these service fees.

Highly Recommended
We booked this romantic spot because we were celebrating a new engagement among with a milestone birthday and it definitely did NOT disappoint! You walk through the cute garden to get to the entrance and the deck to enjoy has an amazing view of vineyards and mountains that you can sit at. We wanted to relax and take in a few wineries each day and this is within a 15 minute drive of some of our favorite finds - Monica recommenced some great spots and one of THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANTS EVER!! :) El Molina is within a 5 minute walk from the house and a great recommendation from our gracious host. Monica was around for any questions without being “overly there”. When we were sitting on the deck at night we told her briefly about our celebration and she came out with another bottle for just to enjoy the night - very, very sweet.
Only about 10 minutes from downtown Sonoma and it’s very easy to get Uber’s to and from if you wanted a fun night out. The home itself is perfect if you want a place to relax in the afternoon after or between winery stops and has such a cute and comfortable setting to match the views.

Weekend Stay
Initial email communication was detailed and descriptive. Check-in process was simple and effective. We texted the property manager to communicate we had arrived and had one simple question about a bedroom light, but never received a response. Entire weekend - no response. What if it had been a serious issue? Their is a light over the bed in the bedroom area that does not turn off except when the sun goes down which is not ideal for an afternoon nap. We did see bugs in the building/on the bedroom side. Biggest problem was the firmness of the bed. Did not feel comfortable at all and for this reason alone would not recommend a stay at this 'casita.' Outdoor space was relaxing and several seating options. Neighborhood area is accessible to Sonoma Highway and felt safe. Easy driving distance to Sonoma Square or local wineries.

Beautiful property!
My wife and I had a beautiful stay at this property, despite the rain and cooler rain! The property is nicely nestled in Sonoma, about 5 miles from the downtown area, in a very secluded and quiet area of town.
We had a little difficulty getting the electric heater working, but both Monica and Crystal came to our rescue and got it working in quick order. A special shout out to Crystal for traveling 25 miles from NAPA to come get things up and running.
While we've been to Sonoma many times before, it never loses its excitement!

Bed hard as a rock & no counter space
This is a charming little back house. It is as pictured! However, we got a list of chores (take off bedsheets, take out trash, etc) before arrival. This wouldn’t have been a big deal if there weren’t other issues. The bed is like sleeping on cardboard. My husband took the couch for two of the nights, as his back hurt (it was our anniversary, by the way). The bathroom had zero counter space. There was a little stand next to the sink, but it had vases and things all over it. It was kind of a theme on all surfaces. If you don’t care about a firm bed and a pedestal sink, then I would recommend it.

Cute, unique little cottage!
Very cute little cottage with a GREAT location - close to many excellent wineries and restaurants and just a short drive from the town square. The hosts were very kind and even had a free bottle of delicious wine chilling in the fridge for us on arrival!
Small caution - the bed is VERY firm, so if that's not up your alley this might not be the place for you. But if you like a firm bed, it'd be hard to do better for a sweet Sonoma getaway!

Cozy and Adorable
We stayed here for a long weekend in February. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with all the amenities you need, such as coffee, wine bottle openers, and toiletries. The Amazon Fire Stick and the use of Netflix was perfect for a quiet evening in after a long day of wine tasting in beautiful Sonoma. The cottage is also centrally located in Sonoma. Thank you for a great weekend!!

Paula’s Casita in Sonoma … Home Away From Home
I had the good fortune to spend a four day weekend this past August in Sonoma – gateway to Northern California’s Wine Country. This time, rather than booking a motel or hotel, I tried staying at a private residence backyard casita. Set within in a warm rural community right off highway 12, just minutes from the shops and wining & dining of the famed Sonoma Square, this delightful getaway pad offered the perfect combination of style, comfort, location and value.
Paula’s Casita, with its brilliant blue wood-siding and white French doors,
is decorated inside and out with an eye-pleasing combination of creative craft and sophisticated sensibilities. I was welcomed with a complimentary bottle of local cab, as well as free coffee, tea and water. The amenities were just right. The ambience was tasty. The art filled gardens and deck, which offered many an ideal spot to sit and enjoy a refreshment with a friend, were beautiful and relaxing.
So much local flavor to discover nearby. My favorite wine tasting venues were Gloria Ferrer, Cline, VJB, Ram’s Gate and Kunde wineries. I checked out Cornerstone – a great place to walk through designer gardens, galleries, shops and have lunch. A superb bistro I tried was The El Dorado Kitchen, located on the Sonoma Square. My new favorite no-frills Mexican foodhot spot is El Molino Central – serving up super satisfying homegrown dishes and fiesta style outdoor dining. I’m also a big beer fan, and I found The Palooza Brewery & Gastropub to have an ample selection of yummy micro brews and savory food to go with.
I could go on about hiking and hot tubbing, and even thrift shopping, but I think you should discover some things on your own. All in all, I would say
for anyone (or two), who want to enjoy the wine country in affordable style, Paula’s Casita is the perfect little home away from home.
(And my new Sonoma sanctuary).

Sonoma “Casita” - a perfect wine country retreat
A beautifully executed renovation of a detached cottage. Enter through the French doors into a high- ceilinged great room -tastefully modern with great furnishings, a well-designed kitchen/bar area, big flat screen, and great light. Through a small hallway with a generous closet into a cozy bedroom furnished with local treasures , all new bedding and a nice firm mattress. Newly reconstructed bath with all amenities and a great shower.
Guests also have access to a beautiful wood deck with a nice view of the local hills, as well as another lush “meditation garden “ featuring Adirondack chairs made from barrel staves, lush landscaping, and a friendly Buddha.
Off-street parking and fenced/gated for total privacy.
Monica is the perfect host and provided excellent recommendations re: the local wineries and restaurants.
A totally new renovation that was done with a lot of style and a lot of love. Already booked my next trip!

Cute, Cozy. Creative. Comfortable. Love it!
Why would you stay at a hotel or motel when you can have a deluxe suite with all the amenities in a private yet accessible location just minutes from everything wonderful in Sonoma? There’s no reason to now that this little gem has been found I feel. I just love the way that it’s decorated with humor, style, yet it’s been the owner’s desire to make it both comfortable and functional. I slept very well and awakened to quiet, birds, and the Sonoma hills. I want to come back! Again and Soon!
