About this house rental
Take in all the Wine Country has to offer from this centrally located cozy apartment overlooking Sonoma Creek! With nearby great wineries, tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops, you'll find lots to enjoy in the area. You can take it all in on the 2 complimentary bicycles parked in the shed!
Please note! For a reservation to be accepted, you MUST tell us a bit about who's staying, and what brings you to the Wine Country.
Guests who book during the winter / rainy season may get a special whitewater treat! Since the Bungalow is overlooking Sonoma Creek, you will enjoy an exciting show if there is a rainstorm, and the rapids get more turbulent! Part of the deck is covered, so you can enjoy a thrill during a rainstorm! (Don't worry, you are safely high above the creek in the ravine below.)
The Bungalow (Sonoma TOT Cert # 1436N ) features a beautiful kitchen, hardwood floors, a cozy gas 'Franklin' stove for cool nights,, and a sumptuous new Beautyrest queen bed and awesome high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Fast internet, cable and internet-enabled TV let you watch cable TV or stream movies. While the apartment is delightfully furnished (we own a furniture store!), the real attraction is the deck overlooking the creek. From here, you can sit for hours watching the steady stream of wildlife (deer, mostly) as they make their way along the trails along the year-round creek. When the rains start, the creek goes from a lazy creek to a roaring stream - with rapids just a bit past the bungalow, giving great sound effects. The deck features comfortable patio furniture and an optional gas firepit to enjoy a glass of wine around at the end of a busy day!
The Queen bed is a new Beautyrest that is moderately firm. Some have said it is too soft. Some have said its too firm. It is what it is! The bed is covered with an Organic Cotton mattress protector/pad. High thread count Egyptian cotton sheets complete the ensemble. Spare blankets and pillows are in the closet.
The bathroom features a curved glass shower enclosure and a newly tiled shower. We have just added a Bidet Toilet - we tried one at a Vacation Rental ourselves and loved it - so we added one for you to enjoy as well! It features a heated seat and warm water. Heavenly!
While there are so many activities nearby, we expect that at least one of the days of your visit you'll grab a couple of bottles of wine and want to spend the whole day at the cozy Lazy Oak Creekside Bungalow, enjoying the magical surroundings!
** NOTE** MAX OVERNIGHT OCCUPANCY - 2 PERSONS ONLY ** (Including children)
IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure your booking request is accepted, please be sure to tell us a little about WHO is staying, WHERE you are from, and WHAT brings you to the Wine Country! You can read about who we are in our VRBO profile, so its a 2-way privacy street!
Coin Laundry machine is located outside the unit under cover.

The deck adds a beautiful outdoor space to this bungalow. We ate several meals overlooking the creek, listening to the water and birds. A magnificent old oak tree provided shade from the hot summer sun, keeping the indoors cooler. Situated near the Fairmont spa and bike trail to downtown Sonoma, the location was ideal. Our hosts provided check-in information and answered messages in a timely manner. I would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was as advertised and the bikes were an awesome addition for us to use to bike into downtown Sonoma. Kitchen could use some more accessories and cooking utensils, but we perhaps cooked much more than typical. Check in and check out was straight forward and easy.

This was in a perfect spot for us to get to and enjoy downtown Sonoma, our friend's wedding at Viansa winery and all the other things we had planned. The neighborhood was quiet and the place was adorable. It was perfect for our trip, we would recommend. :)

This VRBO was just okay. We are avid VRBO visitors and I gotta say… this one was probably our least favorite. We were very excited about the deck but once we went onto the deck our excitement was gone. The deck was really dirty! The floor was covered in a layer of dirt and the deck was full of spiderwebs and a black widow landed on my spouses hand. There was several other spiders as well during our stay. More than average.I’ve lived in the mountains and never dealt with this many spiders. The view would have been nice but they don’t upkeep their property. Dead brush was all over the hill leading to the creek and it was an ugly site. They also require you to keep on the light at the front door and the light shines directly in your face while you’re trying to sleep. It’s not ideal at all. Additionally the cottage is connected to another cottage and it’s not private AT ALL! At night we could hear the people snoring that stayed in the cottage next to ours. Then when they would wake up in the morning, we could hear their entire conversation. We knew their plans everyday. This place is not ideal if you are looking for a clean, peaceful, private stay.

Great home base to visit a ton of destinations including museums in Sacramento (Stanford Mansion, CA State Railroad Museum); hiking state and national parks (Jack London, Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, Alcatraz); various wineries in Sonoma Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Russian River Valley; restaurants and brewpubs in Tiburon, Sonoma, Healdsburg and Santa Rosa. Outstanding number of activities close by and we barely scratched the surface. And through it all we had quiet, comfortable mornings and nights in our Lazy Creekside Bungalow.

We had a wonderful stay, and really enjoyed the sound of the creek from the deck. We were visiting during a crazy heat wave, so did not utilize the bikes but it is a great area to cruise around on a bicycle. There was an amazing taco truck about 15 minute walk away. The cottage is located a tad off the beaten path, which we love because we are able to experience the local scene .
We hope to stay here again, maybe in the winter to experience a different stage of natural surroundings.

This cottage is a great centrally located hidden gem for a couple to explore wine country. Great location overlooking the creek and quite secluded. The cottage was super clean and had everything needed for our stay.

Such a perfect little place! Had everything we needed with a bonus oasis outside! I only wish we had more time to enjoy the beauty of the patio, conpletely sets this place apart from other rentals. Very private and comfy cozy! Have already recommended to our friends in the bay area!

Unfortunately we did not get to stay here, the host would not accommodate our move to the next weekend which was available on their calender.
Due to medical reasons I could not fly that weekend, but the host only cared about their mortgage payments and would not move the dates, even though they were available. Unfortunately this bad experience means we will not book again.

Pros:
Located above a nice river with a charming meadow view.
Updated kitchen.
Warm gas fireplace.
Cons:
Washer and dryer are not only located outside, but they are also coin operated… and one of the dryers was duct taped shut.
I had to clean the windows to enjoy the view.
The bathroom lights are motion censored. So getting up during the night did not only disrupt my partner, but it was like being in an airport runway light show.
The threshold between the living room and kitchen was missing, so you could see screws and bare floor.
The blanket at the foot of the bed, and the one in the living room were not washed.
There were only about five adult hangers and 20 children hangers.
We would not stay here again.

My wife and I spent a few enjoyable days at this property. The unit is clean and as described. The kitchen is well equipped and includes basic condiments. Location is in a quiet neighborhood backing into a pretty big stream, and we saw plenty of birds and a few deer. Also convenient to Sonoma town, Napa, Redwood National Forest and the coast. Hosts are easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.

Charming, comfortable bungalow with all modern conveniences including an excellent kitchen to prepare meals with nice appliances, dishes and cooking accessories. It is a quiet area with a comfortable private deck with view on the creek. We enjoyed our time and recommend this rental. We would only suggest to look at replacing the shower who starting to show its age but still has a good water pressure.

We stayed at this charming unit for 2 nights while visiting Family for Thanksgiving. The unit is small, but perfect for the 2 of us. The deck overlooking the creek is lovely and we really wish that we would have had time to sit by the fire, sipping a glass of wine and watch for wildlife. Our only snag was the unit had not been cleaned when we checked in. When we finally reached Michael, he got right on it and the housekeeper over. Otherwise our stay was great.

We loved that this property offered bikes for us to explore Sonoma in a unique way. The fire pit inside and outside made for a nice, cozy visit when we were taking a break from the wineries.

We enjoyed our stay in the cozy cottage along the creek. The rain on Saturday allowed the creek to flow rapidly, making listening to it even more relaxing. We would definitely highly recommend the property to friends and family.

our stay was fantastic. The place was cute comfortable, and clean. We were very close to the town square which was very charming. We will stay again if we are in the area

We loved Sonoma and all that it offers. The first impression as we drove into the neighborhood was a little suspect, but we had no issues. The property needed a little last-minute clean as there were crumbs on the floor and the carpet/couch. We did not cook or eat while at the Airbnb so cant comment on the appliances or anything like that. The back deck is awesome although really needs to be power washed and swept..lots of spider webs. We also had some 8 legged visitors but just let them free outside.
The shower has a spot that is rusting through and is patched but maybe not totally waterproofed. We could not figure out how to keep the lights on while in the shower or in the bathroom as they are motion-detected lighting.. minor problem
The place is super cute but just needs a little TLC.

The bungalow was perfect for a “home base” as I attending wedding festivities last weekend. I took a little extra time to enjoy Sonoma, and I am so glad that I did. The location is perfect, and the bungalow itself is very comfortable. The back deck is amazing for winding down and enjoying a bit of natural peace.

Very cute little bungalow. Nicely decorated. Perfect size for just my husband and I. Lovely deck overlooking Sonoma Creek and wooded area. Good location just north of Sonoma Plaza and proximity to numerous wineries in surrounding Sonoma County. Definitely in a more residential area, but no issues with neighbors.

This is a cute little apartment that was perfect for 2 people! It had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The back porch was the best! You can hear the creek very clearly, it was nice having coffee every morning out there and winding down each night out there.
There were plenty of drawers and hangers to put our clothes away for our stay. The usual amenities like hair dryer & iron were there. There was also shampoo and conditioner but we did not use it since we brought our own. There was a fan and heater for use when needed In the bedroom. The kitchen had everything you need! It was a full kitchen.

This location was perfect for all the events associated with the wedding we attended in Sonoma. Loved the peaceful quiet atmosphere and the deck!

Beautiful location - easy check-in, adorable cottage!
I would stay here simply to sit on the back deck… sweet little creek bubbling by, serene view, great trees & bird watching. The cottage has everything you need - the shower could use a refresh - it looked like it had been damaged & patched back together. As they mention on the website - the mattress isn’t for everyone,& it was tooo hard for us… It would have been nice to have extra pillows available - we drove to Napa to buy an extra one. All in all it was a positive experience - & we enjoyed our stay :-)

Overall the residence was nice. Communication was a bit delayed, possibly due to time differences. Check in was easy. The location appeared safe. Close to wineries!
My only complaint was lack of hot water in the shower. We only had hot water about 5 minutes.

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We loved sitting out on the deck and hearing the stream below while drinking coffee/tea and reading. It was really central to a lot of wineries and we found several great hiking spots within 10-20 minutes of here. The location is close to Sonoma square also where there are a ton of restaurants and shops! Would love to return here soon!!

We enjoyed our stay. We had a couple of issues that were dealt with quickly after a message to the host.
The place is cozy, perfect for 2 people and no more than that. I enjoyed sitting outside by the creek in mornings and evenings. It was nice and peaceful.
The unit had basic necessities. However, if you're a coffee drinker, make sure to bring your own coffee.

The weather was quite warm during my visit, but the outdoor deck was a comfortable respite from the heat and a relaxing space with the sound of the creek. The cottage is small, but has the essentials for a getaway. There were no problems during my stay. Although I cooked meals, it's about a 15 minute walk to several food options.
