We loved the water slide and location of the property. Didn’t notice a lot of bugs down at the dock. The house has clean and tidy upon arrival. We will definitely be back

We loved our stay and hated to leave! The house was wonderful and offered lots of space. We went as a family with teens, they were able to enjoy the downstairs and adults
upstairs. The dock and waterslide were a huge hit! Will definitely book again!

We really enjoyed our stay here! We loved everything this home had to offer. The location to the boat ramp and stores was great! The only thing that was mentioned was it would be nice to have an additional dock cleat. There was one side that only had one and we were docking boats to both sides. We look forward to vacationing at your home in the future. Thank you for sharing your home.

We came for a week after the kids finished school and had a blast! The kids loved the water slide and jumping off into deeper water! The area in front of the dock is surprisingly quiet with little boat traffic. The kids and some adults either swam or canoed to the island. That was a highlight of the trip for them! Bring a float and enjoy!

The house is equipped with everything one needs. Lovely deck looking out at the lake. Flat screen TV's in every room. The only drawback - and only because two of us were seniors with some mobility issues - was that there was no bathroom downstairs. We had almost perfect weather and the water temperature was great. Bring a couple of noodles and soak! The kids loved the water slide, but I don't recommend it for seniors. Ron was quick to respond with any minor issues we had. Once I figured out the WI-FI password- small "S", it worked with all our devices. Highly recommend this vacation home. I would suggest that Ron offers a linen service and we would have gladly paid for it.

Everything was easy. Owner very easy to get along with. Views are amazing and the house is very well set up for a mix of ages. My older kids had the downstairs while the adults were upstairs so everyone had their privacy but we were still able to have game night together upstairs on a rainy night.
This is definitely our first choice at lake gaston.

Our visit was perfect. The owner was extremely responsive. He checked on us at check in & mid stay. Every question was answers quickly, although we only had one! The forst impression for us walking through the door was ITS SO CLEAN! The photos do not do the space justice. The screened in porch os quite a gem. The kayaks and canoes were so easy to launch beside the boathouse. The kitchen was fully stocked. All appliances worked. The bathrooms were clean. The deck is so spacious! The cove is a nice quiet cove. Perfect for our family getaway with children under 10. The water slide was a great hit! The directions, do’s/dont’s were very clear and easy to follow. The exterior has been updated and the wrap around deck was gorgeous. We will return!!

Great view of the lake with comfortable living space. Large kitchen and dining area and 4 bedrooms, 2 with views of the water. Deep water for swimming. House was rustic. Beds were comfortable with plenty of sleeping areas. Lots of area to park. I'd definitely rent again.

Ron was very accommodating and available to us throughout our visit.
I highly recommend this property.

This was our first time staying at Lake Gaston and this property makes us what to come back again and again. The owners are extremely welcoming and informative. This house was perfect in every way. The neighbors are friendly. There is just too much awesomeness to list. We can’t wait to start planning our next trip! Paradise point is just that….. a slice of paradise!!!

August 2021. We loved the view, kayaking, hanging on the dock, the slide, fire pit, close proximity of boat launch and the extra dock for our boat. Things to note.. the coffee pot also had an option for k-cup. The 2 full baths are upstairs with no bathroom downstairs (2 bedrooms downstairs).. you can’t beat the view, we had a great time! Plenty of room. We had 7 adult age people (2 couples).

Awesome property, this is the quintessential lake house. Great location to all Lake Gaston has to offer. The bathroom situation is a little wonky, 2 full baths in one room on main floor with shared sinks. No big deal for us, spent a ton of time outside jumping off dock, fishing, and enjoying the lake. Run don’t walk to book this place!

We stayed at this house for a week in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner Ron is very organized and communicated very well with us. The house is set up well for both adults and young kids (we had our grandkids with us for a few days). The views are amazing and we had alot of fun swimming off the dock. There are a few docks so the guys could fish from the other two while we enjoyed the bigger dock with the water slide. Love this property and hope to stay again next year!

We enjoyed our vacation and appreciate how well-stocked the kitchen is, the cleanliness of the house, and the availability of the kayaks and canoe. Check-in was easy and Ron was quick to respond to my questions. My only critique would be to clarify the bathroom situation on the main description of the home. Thank you for everything!

Overall we had a nice time. The lake is beautiful. September was a good time to go if you want less crowds on the water. Our kids had a great time with the dock and the slide. We enjoyed using the kayaks however both of the paddle boats listed in the amenities were broken and unusable.
The house was clean except that the heating and air filters looked like they hadn't been changed in some time which I felt should be kept up with considering I was assuming extra cleaning measures would be taken because of covid-19.
There are two things to know before renting this house that I would have liked to know before I booked it with no option for a refund. One is that the owner only allows two dogs. We searched for a house that allows pets since many in my family have dogs that we like to bring on vacation. Other listings state in the description how many pets are allowed but this one just said pets welcomed. Three families ended up having to kennel their dogs for the weekend which almost doubled the cost of our stay. The other thing I would have liked to know is that there are not really two bathrooms. There is one bathroom that has two toilets and two showers with a shared sink area.

The property is older and is in need of some repair but that doesn't take away from my satisfaction due to the great location, view and overall happiness with the home. Definitely going to book it again sometime this summer!

This property was just what the doctor ordered. There was plenty of room for everyone (5 Adults, 2 Teens & 2 Children). It was clean and comfortable. Felt like home away from home. Finally there was plenty of entertainment for everyone from Kayaks & Canoes to the Waterslide and simply relaxing on the dock which by the way there were 3 docks. One we used to swim from, one we used to dock our boats & one on the channel we used to fish from. It was wonderful!

Wonderful views and location! We enjoyed kayaking and fishing from the dock where we caught a few nice catfish. House was very comfortable and spacious. At one point we had 8 adults and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Ron was very accommodating and easy to work with. We hope to come back in the spring!

This is the perfect vacation getaway. My wife and I enjoyed this property more than any other we have rented. The location is perfect. Food Lion is 10 minutes down the road. The property is large and very peaceful. The view of the lake from the house is awesome. I took my bass boat and there was a perfect place to tie up where the water was calm. The house layout is perfect, spacious, clean and well organized. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. I can't say enough about this property. By far it is our favorite, and we have rented several over the years on Lake Gaston. Communication with the owner was as good as it gets. Our questions were answered quickly and the property was ready when promised for our arrival. The perfect vacation all the way around.

Our family has loved vacationing in the OBX, but this year we decided to switch it up and try a lake vacation, and let me say, we were not disappointed! Our week-long vacation at Ron and Julie's wonderful lake cottage was absolutely wonderful - one of our top vacations, for sure!
The breath-taking views of the lake from their home will blow you away! The location is prime - abundant open waters in front, yet tucked back into a quiet cove. Perfect area for swimming, kayaking/canoeing/paddle boating, fishing etc. The lake water was so clean and refreshing - perfect temps for a cold water wimp! The water slide was a HUGE hit, too! We also really appreciated being able to rent Ron and Julie's pontoon boat. It was a great way to get to know the Lake Gaston area by water - we were so impressed with the beauty of the lake! We also used the non-motorized boats the Warfel's had available to check out nearby Goose Island - so fun to have that unique spot so close!
Ron & Julie's home was exactly what we think of when we picture a lake cottage. A little bit rustic, not your modern cookie-cutter type, and very comfortable. It offered plenty of space for the 10 of us. I loved the spacious kitchen. It was well-stocked, too. We could not get over the views from the whole front side of the house - just gorgeous! It was so neat that all the bedrooms had a water view, too. We liked the screened porch area, and spent lots of time on the deck. The swing down by the water was a relaxing spot, also. We even made use of the fire pit on our second-to-last night. We were amazed and so pleased at how much the house had to offer!
We were sad so have our vacation come to an end. It went by much too fast. It was EXACTLY what we had hoped for, though! We are so grateful for Ron and Julie's hospitality, and for making our stay so wonderful. Ron was so pleasant to work with from the get-go - he was friendly, and accommodating. It was nice being able to reach him when needed, too. His organization, notes & helpful tips were appreciated, as well.
This was an exceptional experience all around. We'd love to come back and stay at the Warfel's lake home again sometime! Thank you, Ron and Julie, for helping us create some very special memories!

We had an amazing Labor Day extended weekend here. First few days weather wasn't the greatest but we had so much fun. The views are amazing and the convinence of stores etc was great. I can't say enough about how warm and inviting the home was along with dealing with Ron from start to finish. We hope to return for many years to come!!

We can't say enough about our vacation here! House is large, with a great kitchen space that is very well stocked, we cooked all our meals here and there was everything possible that were needed! The property is surrounded by water on 2 sides and the views are just spectacular. From every room, you get a view! Very quiet and relaxing, loved sitting on the deck to eat meals and drink coffee. Paddle boat was fun for every one and the swim dock was great with the slide. Ron and Julie really have gone out of their way to make their home inviting and well stocked and were very accomdating with any question we had. We had been beach people for years, but Paradise Point has turned us in to lake people!

We can not say enough about this home. We had a wonderful week. The view of the main lake was amazing. Every morning we enjoyed coffee on the back porch. Between boating, fishing, jumping of the dock, kayaking and of course the slide in to the lake, we were all so tired every night. Goose Island was so much fun. We even went under the bridge and found some other sand bars and islands to hang out and swim/lounge around at. The home was very clean and everything worked wonderfully. The kitchen storage and counter space was amazing. I have never stayed at a home which offered so much. The location was perfect for a "get away from it all week." We all really had a blast and enjoyed working with Ron. He was such a delight. We will defiantly come back.

This was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had! With amazing views of the lake and gorgeous sunsets! There were blue herons, eagles and owls to watch!! The rooms are clean and spacious. The layout of the bathroom is great, several people can use both at one time! There is plenty of parking. You can swim, sun and kayak. The location is within minutes of gas, groceries, ice cream and mini golf! If you are looking for it all, this is the place to go!! Thank you Ron and Julie!!

The water view from the house and the property is magnificent. Even though the weather was warm, there was a fresh breeze coming in off the lake most of the time. We could (and did!) sit on the deck and just relax. Because the deck was high off the ground, insects were not a bother. This was WONDERFUL!!
The water was was great for swimming and playing with our dogs. Ron built a boat ramp to go over the rocks, which we thought would also make a good water exit/enter for the dogs. It was a great help in launching the kayaks. The dogs used it, but quickly got used to going over the rocks themselves, and stuck with that. They could not wait to get swimming - at least 4 times a day.
Ron was very responsive on any questions we had.
The overall space in the house was terrific; kitchen was very well stocked and good size. Lots of deck space, and we could use it most days except mid-day, even without the awning.
Thank you for the hangers in closets, empty drawers we could use, beds that were comfortable, and a clean house. I especially liked great room space- inviting and spacious, good seating. We made use of the games and puzzles. Thanks!
We liked using the kayaks!! Wifi and TV worked flawlessly.
Overall, we had a great week. Very relaxing and fun!
The bathroom setup ( two toilet/shower rooms with shared sink space) worked for us, since we had only one son joining us on the vacation. But it might be tight for a larger group, especially with no bathroom downstairs.
The deck would work better for us with gates that close; dog owners may want to bring an X-pen to close it off, so dogs are contained. The deck balusters are more widely spaced than normal; we were a little worried the dogs could squeeze between them and fall - for smaller (and/or dumber) dogs this could be an issue.

We arrived just after Hurricane Matthew left, fortunately it was all rain and no damage. Weather returned to 'Beautiful' and given the time of year, the Lake was literally all to us ! The house was a perfect answer as we were looking for a quiet relaxing few days, and still have our kids with us ! (Furry 4 legged kids!). The 'kids' loved the large wrap around deck! And the Sunsets were AWESOME, best we have ever seen. We used the pontoon boat and cruised the lake under beautiful blue skies.
Thank you Ron and Julie for a GREAT place in a GREAT location !!

Our family enjoyed a great week together at Lake Gaston. I seriously don't believe you can find a better view of the lake than you can find here. We are so happy to be able to enjoy the home that my Father-In-Law built but sold in 1999. Ron and Julie have done a nice job making the home rental friendly. We found the house to be clean and Ron communicated with us on check-in to make sure our expectations were met. Renting from these new owners will not disappoint you. Missing it already!

This was our first time renting on Lake Gaston. We certainly chose well. The view of the lake is spectacular. Our grandchildren loved the slide and fishing. The house is very spacious and has everything needed for a great vacation! We would certainly return again!
