Beautiful unkept property, stunning sceanery
Property is unkept. Bed, kitchen drawers broken. Housekeepers have gotten lazy. Safety needs to be addressed. We left the place cleaner then we got it. We had a great time. Spending over $5000 for 4 nights my expections are nor unrealistic. addresses for stairs

Houses were great. Location is awesome, on the lake with easy lake access. Lots of fun toys, kayaks, pool table, yard games, and more. We'd definitely stay again.

We have been renting houses for so many years now. Never have we experienced such inconvenience ever. However much we love the view from the house and waking up to these lovey surroundings, the stay inside has not been at all convenient.
Right from missing toiletries to leaking roofs, to no wood, to dishwasher not working, to the outside heater without any gas!!! The patio, the front entrance everything was full of leaves to the point that it was hard to find the pathway and walk around.
The house says good for 20 people but have limited serveware for an even of a group of 8 people to eat together.
No lights in garage. Bathroom fans not working.
Even after regularly sharing our concerns with the property manager no action was taken during our stay. Rather he asked us to go to store and get the propane cylinder filled. I am sure he must be forgetting that we rented the property to relax and spend time with friends. There was no apologies or even a little sense of empathy towards the inconvenience a customer is facing during their stay.
I personally not a big believer in giving bad reviews. I understand there are quite a lot of things here which could have been taken care of with a little bit more thought. I highly not recommend this property.

There aren’t enough words to accurately describe how this place made us feel. When my partner and I arrived first we were anxious to see the property and once we stepped foot into the homes we were amazed beyond comprehension. The layout and view took our breath away. I’m the morning when the rest of our party showed, we all took our time exploring the property and taking pictures of the lakeside and mountains. We all enjoyed every bit of our trip and did not want to leave. It was so hard saying goodbye to this property. Not only was the stay absolutely amazing, but the communication was as well! The owner never missed a beat when it came to responding to my questions and was willing to work with us with our concerns and went out of his way to help us try to find places for food and whatnot. My partner and I will definitely be booking here again hopefully next year because it was a dream come true being here. It’s safe to say that if you are looking for a quiet place to just enjoy what nature has to bring, in the company of great family or friends this is the place for you!

Great spot and view. Make sure you have propane before you try to grill or run a heater. We found out the hard way.

The entire thing was just gorgeous. Plenty of room. Beautiful views from every room. I will say the house is old and has some of that, “charm”, and to consider that when heading out. We were there on hot days and the house has nice windows and doors to creat good air flow. All the bed rooms are up stairs and that meant that the rooms were really warm. They had some fans, and we were able to stay comfortable, but more fans would have been helpful. Also the master bath tub is very nice, but theres not enough hot water to fill the tub, and we had to stagger showers. Again, an older house.
We will most definitely be staying here again. It was just perfect.
Thanks to the host who had it clean, with plenty of extra blankets, and towels.

This is such a lovely location. With age ranges including infants, kids, teens and adults it was really convenient to have the lake so accessible and really pretty quiet and private. In our 4 days here we rarely saw anyone else on the lake. The property itself comfortably fit out large group. The extra garage/pool room hang out spot was a huge perk for the teens. The house(s) have some run down parts (broken drawer, toilet that gets stuck, strong moth ball smell, cobwebs) etc, but nothing that some maintenence can't address. Overall it was nice and fairly clean. We would stay here again for sure.

All 16 of us enjoyed our 3 nights on the lake. Fabulous patio, comfortable beds, great location in the rainforest. Kitchen in the 2 bedroom house was adequate for several to prepare meals and had a dishwasher. Those in the 3 bedroom found kitchen small. We made it work out. Wonderful experience.

We had a group of 10 people and all had plenty of room. The location is truly amazing, very close to lots of things to do in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here. It was for a very small wedding and fit us perfectly. Two complete houses and a garage made for plenty of space.
Make sure you shop before you get there. Not a lot of options, but we went for the lake and the park. The property and the view did not disappoint.

Location is jaw dropping. Houses are casual and comfortable for our big group. Enjoyed the kayaks and pool table. Small market close by for basics. A little short on plates and wine glasses, but a memorable stay. Recommend

We had 3 generation, 12 people, week long stay. When we arrived the house was clean and looked exactly as we had expected. As with any house surrounded by trees, water and wildlife (rainforest), cobwebs appeared over the week which we just brushed away. We were slightly concerned about bathroom availability but were happy to find that both houses had a toilet and sink upstairs with the bedrooms and, a full bath downstairs for showering. Plenty of common space for everyone.
We spent nearly all our time outside. When we weren't actively adventuring we stayed outside on the beautiful deck. Kids kayaked, swam, built forts with drift wood, played pool and tracked the bald eagles.
Bring food and drink with you. Nearby resupply is limited but had essentials, e.g. milk, ice etc.
Would do it again!

Me and my friends had an amazing weekend here! The views were great, the house was overall great and accommodated 13 adults well. The beds and linens were comfortable and it was appreciated that there were extra pillows and blankets in the closet. I also really enjoyed how different all the bedrooms were and the extra kayaks, firepit, and pool table made our stay so much more fun! The extra accessible handlebars in most of the bathrooms was especially appreciated since most vacation rentals do not have them.
Some few things that were cons were
-shattered glass pane by the bed with the triangle window
-outlets were very loose and especially with the supplied space heaters that could be dangerous since it was hard to get a plug to stay in and they kept falling out.
-there was no propane in the outdoor space heaters which was a little bit of a bummer
-billards room was not as welcoming and could use some cleaning and organizing
Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place to all my family and friends, especially if the things listed above are fixed

The location is ideal for a large gathering (20 family members!) We had stayed here in 2017 and found everything tip top. This year there were several issues, most notably no outside garbage cans so we took it all home. That said I believe the property and experience can be easily improved and we plan to stay here again! (I want to contact the owner.)

We had 12+ adults and 4 dogs that we brought, and it was a great time. The firepit area was everyone’s favorite place to congregate and hang out (this was late September, so the nights were cool). Huge stone patio around the fire pit with a grill as well and some tables and deck chairs. There were some spider webs and dust, but that’s just being in the Olympic National Park. We had enough beds for everyone, plenty of cookware to make things like tacos and pancakes for the group, and it was super easy to coordinate with the owner for entry. Lake is beautiful and secluded from the neighbors, and there are many kayaks in the pool table garage-area. Plenty of blankets to stay warm at night, and the water pressure and heat was great for us!
All in all, we had a fantastic time. It was a great place to have an annual friend gathering with adults, and we will definitely be keeping this on the list of places to visit again.

9 of us college friends rented the 2 houses at the property. The rooms amd beds were very comfortable and the outdoor patio facing the lake with fire pit is great. Cookware amd dishes are a little on the light side for a property that could hold 12+ people (e.g., no large pots), bit we managed fine. Location is great for the west side of Olympic and the lake is very nice, and quiet. There's a grocery store at the entrance to the lake but if you want to do major food shopping best to do it on the way (say in Forks of you're coming from the north).

The house, location, water access are all an easy 5 star rating. Inside houses were both clean but the house and property has not been maintained. Outside was filthy, seating cushions were covered in stains, dog hair and burn holes. Spilt foods on the patio, spider webs covered everything so the cotton from cotton trees was stuck to everything. The outside grill worked great but again filthy. Upstairs tub I was so excited about had no hot water so not functioning so there was only two showers. VRBO Stated 5 full bathrooms. This is not an accurate description! I also could not shut the water off after trying to use it. My boyfriend got it off but also had a hard time. There is damage from it flooding so this most likely has been an issue for awhile. The biggest issue was the water had air in the pipes so. We had trouble with the showers and tub. First night no one could shower because it was spitting out blast of water and air. Not enough water to shower though. By the second day it was still coming out in blast but enough water to shower. It was like a pressure hose though at times so the younger kids could not shower. It actually hurt. Checking reviews after we got home I seen other people posted the same complaint. So the owner was aware and still rented the property. And last pool table area was also filthy and had not been maintained. It might be okay for kids but the table was not level, sticks all crooked. With all of this said I would rent again. The home, property and use of kayaks is absolutely beautiful but the next time I would pack appropriately. My family refuses to go back due to the filth and only 2 showers for everyone though. Things to bring…..
Cooking pans
Chairs for outside use
Water for drinking and cooking.
Extra fans…. It gets hot and very muggy!
Bug spray
It is such a shame this property has not been better maintained. A day with a pressure washer, blower and rack would have made all the difference. I had the urge to clean the whole time. The upstairs tub was also false advertising so the VRBO needs to be updated.

Fam reunion
Lots of room for everyone. The view from property on the lake was amazing. The weather was nice and warm so the houses did get a little warm. I would recommend bringing lots of fans. There is air in waterlines that is concerning but it did not affect our stay, we had a wonderful stay.

Gorgeous, quiet location
The lake, mountains, clouds and bird life here are remarkable! We enjoyed a fire every evening-and brought a hatchet and saw to cut up the downed wood on the banks of the lake. It was lovely to have the kayaks-we paddled every day.

Not as expected
The cabins had so many issues. Primary cabin: spurting plumbing which was mostly air shooting out,no hot water for showers, broken drawers, stained carpets, dirty stoves/ovens, dirty grills, dirty outdoor furniture, dirty floors, overall just not clean. Kitchen not stocked as expected. None of the grills worked as was conveyed by owner. Plus when we arrived the patio had explicit images drawn everywhere, attempted to be hidden by furniture.
Second cabin: stove grill dirty, broken windows, stained carpets, fridge door that wouldn't stay close, faucet sinks knibs that did not work, drains clogged in sinks and showers and smoke detectors disabled.
No chopped dry firewood as expected, broken or non-working lights in garage game room and all over the property. The pool table is slanted.
We were in contact constantly with the owner about these issues. He did arrive one the second to last day of our trip offering to work on the house. But at that point its not really helpful to our stay.
The lake is the best aspect of the property. We have no problem staying somewhere rustic, but a property charging these prices per night and fees is unacceptable in this condition. Or advertise accordingly so renters are know what they are getting. Ive never rented a property in this condition.
I hope everything gets fixed for other renters. But our trip was greatly impacted and disappointing due to these issues. Minimal effort has been offered to rectify.
Good luck. I would not recommend this property.

Great lakeside house
The property was beautiful!! We rented both homes and had an amazing stay!! Anyone looking to rent one and not both homes be sure to check in with the manager because one of the homes doesn't have an oven or spices. We loved our time at this wonderful home!

Beware!!
There were many issues when we arrived. I texted owner who called and was surprised as he said he had been there recently. The place was dirty, dusty, malfunctioning water system pulling air into line, dirty carpets, musty smelling in both buildings, no firewood, dirty freezer compartments, shower in A frame doesn’t drain so you
stand in standing water, no hot water in A frame bathroom sink, both kitchen sinks had leaking faucets and malfunctioning sprayer, no access to garage for kayaks, many light bulbs burnt out, dryer vent not vented to outside so house filled w steam, some towels w holes, obviously old, high chair filthy, generally dirty property with unkempt beach, some of outdoor plastic chairs were cracked, outdoor cushions left outdoors so were soaking wet, owner appears to be running property into the ground. Owner was to have someone come and address air in water line and said he’d bring new pillows. None of that happened. We did all of necessary check out tasks plus washed and folded all towels and put them away. He later called and accused us of smoking pot in his house! Outrageous!! Two of my children who were on this vacation are physicians and None of us smoke anything! I think property owner is a scammer. Beware!!

Beautiful location and lots of space
We loved staying at this property. The view of the lake is incredible! So nice to be able to look at the lake from the bedrooms and living spaces.
The house had plenty of room for our families. The location itself is incredible, and it is about 15 minute drive to hikes in the S side of the lake and about 30 minutes to Kalaloch.
There were plenty of dishes and cups for our group of ~15 .
We appreciated the flexibility of the owner, allowing us to check in a little early, and even sending us an email encouraging us to stay after the check out time, since the day was so nice (this probably depends on when the next renters are arriving, and although we checked out on time, we appreciated the flexibility).
Both cabins were clean, tons of towels, the beds were comfortable, the rooms are very spacious, and the BBQ grill worked great.
Next time we go, we will try to plan our trip for when the lake is open for kayaking - there are plenty of kayaks in the cabin to use when boating season opens.
There were enough pots and pans, but not a big one (if you are planning to do one dish for everyone, you may want to bring a large pot). Oil was provided, but we were glad we brought our own salt/sugar/spices. Also, the keurik has a ton of coffee, but if you are planning to use the drip coffee, it uses the filters with the flat bottom.
There was a leak in one of the bathrooms (it looks like it was recurring, since there was a patch), but there were plenty of bathrooms, so we just stopped using that one. The owner was super responsive.

Breathtaking views
The property was perfect for our family and friend get together. Everyone had a place to sleep and a place to gather to visit, play games and enjoy the outdoors. The patio was a favorite area to hang out and chat around the fire pit. All the rooms were comfortable and the homes offered all amenities needed for meal prep. Perfect location for what we needed. We’ll definitely be back in the future!

Amazing!
We had the best time! The space was large and clean. We had plenty of space in the large kitchen/ dining room to all hang out without feeling crowded! Plus we were all able to spread out between the two houses for quiet time. The view of the lake was beautiful! The beds were very comfortable, everyone slept very well! Thank you for an amazing weekend.

A Wonderful Retreat in the Rainforest
Loved the quiet, peaceful, beautiful location of this rental. Plenty of room for 13 of us to spread out. Unique layouts of both houses made for lots of spaces for kids and adults to find their own nooks. The owner was super responsive to all my questions throughout Thanksgiving weekend- which was terrific as we had a lot of questions. We loved the rustic fireplaces. Cannot beat the view. One should remember that it will rain in a rain forest... we had 8 inches over the weekend! Thank God the sun came out one day and we were able to go explore this beautiful part of the world. We were happy that we brought some 1000 piece puzzles.

We rented this houses for two nights and hosted our wedding here! As a venue it was absolutely stunning. Like a photo off of Pinterest! For reference we had a total of 34 guests. The view of the lake took your breath away, our guests couldn't stop complimenting the venue. The cabins were adorable inside and out. We were a little surprised that there was only one oven for both buildings but it all worked out. The many bedrooms and queen sized beds worked perfectly for both of our families to stay with us all weekend long. Luckily no one was afraid of spiders, because there are some 8 legged friends who keept us company, you are in a rainforest, to be expected..In addition, the property owner was super helpful. He had plenty of advice and always got back to me in a timely fashion. For a rustic property it was pretty clean, and the garage with the pool table was a big hit! Thank you for making our wedding weekend dreams come true with this venue! I was hoping to add some pictures so you can see the beauty but I don't seem to be able.

Relax and Revive at the Lake
The property was lovely, plenty of comfortable beds and baths, very well stocked with everything we needed, beautiful views of the lake. We loved our stay there, cooking in the nice kitchens, sitting around the big table visiting, watching the changing fall weather go by the big windows. A very nice accommodating host and we highly recommend it!
1.5
The location of the property is absolutely gorgeous. However, we needed to clean before our family arrived. There were tons of dead bugs on the counter tops and beds, cob webs at every door, and we even needed to wash the master bed's sheets upon arrival. It was very clear that they had not been washed, and had tons of human hair and dirt underneath the sheets. This sadly prompted us to go to each and every bed to check if it was clean, which is not a great way to start off our stay.If the cleaning was improved, we would certainly stay again
