About this cabin rental
Built as a winter or summer escape for a couple or small family, this beautiful four season cabin is a great way to experience the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Hayward area. The home is very private and has great access to the lake, and nearby trails.
The cabin sits on 3.5 acres with 350 feet of frontage on Upper Twin Lake, making for a very private experience. The surroundings and views are very natural. The house itself is of the classic Northwoods archetype: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, wood fireplace, and ample kitchen, living, porch, and deck space. The kitchen has all the essentials, the bedrooms are cozy, and the fireplace (high-efficiency) will keep you warm at night.
We've made the outside space as enjoyable as possible with a fire pit (firewood provided), picnic area, and dock for your boat. There is a large swim raft 70 yards from dock (take the canoe) in 10-13 feet of spring fed water.
The home is located on the northeastern tip of Upper Twin Lake. The lake is noted for it's great musky and bass fishing, and clear, spring-fed waters. It is also big and deep enough for water skiing and tubing. Upper Twin connects to Lower Twin and the Tiger Cat Flowage, so there is a lot of water to explore. Bird watching is exceptional. Expect to see ducks, geese, swans, and sandhill cranes in the marshy bay in front of the cabin throughout the year. A family of otters doing cute otter things makes an appearance from time to time!
If you are looking to relax in private with your loved ones, this place exudes family time. Whether it is canoeing on the lake, boating to the Blackiron Bar for a burger, catching some fresh fish for dinner, biking the forest roads, or reading on the porch, you will be able to relax undisturbed in this unique Northwoods retreat.
Winter is a very special time here. Whether it is a snowshoe down the shore of the lake, ice fishing, an XC ski session on the famous Birkie trail (5 minutes away), or a weekend of snowmobiling...winter is a great! Try visiting in winter...you will be glad you did!
With the famous resort town of Hayward just 12 miles away you can choose from a variety of world class attractions, restaurants, and shops. There are also several bars, restaurants, and supper clubs within a 3 mile radius.
Please note that in peak summer I may only allow Sunday and Thursday turnovers, so stays will have to be 3 or 4 days or any combination thereof. Additional check-in/check-out restrictions may be in place for holidays or events. Saturday check-ins and check-outs are never allowed so as not to break up weekends. If you are unable to book the dates you want, please feel free to message me. Special allowances can be made in certain scenarios.

Perfect location for canoeing, hiking, solitude and the beauty of loon calls. Great availability of dining establishments. It's a little slice of heaven!

Clean, quiet, private cabin with comfy beds and a nice view of the lake. Would stay again.

We had a wonderful time. We mainly fished and relaxed. The evening fires were great and the variety of dvd's kept us entertained.

This cabin was perfect for a quiet get away for my husband and me. The cabin was overall maintained nicely and clean. Having the canoe and paddle boards was a great perk.

Beautiful and quiet location on the lake. Cabin was wonderful and had more than we needed. Grounds were perfect down to the lake and very tranquil. A canoe and paddleboards were available for use, we just didn't have a chance to use them but would in the future. Property manager was always very responsive. Highly recommend.

We greatly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed many hours in the sun room and sitting by the lake enjoying the vast array of wildlife. We saw several duck families, blue herons, loons, geese, and even an eagle, that somehow ended up in the lake, swimming around. We also saw a beaver every morning, and there were plenty of squirrels chipmunks, and birds in the yard. Make sure to listen to the eerie, but beautiful loon calls while sitting around an evening campfire.
Fishing was excellent. I caught a musky on my second cast from the dock. I also enjoyed paddling around in the canoe one beautiful evening. I caught small mouth, large mouth bass and another musky. The lake was glass that evening and the loons even swam around with me for awhile.
The cabin was well equipped and comfortable. The view from the deck and sunroom was spectacular. We enjoyed our coffee sitting out there each morning.
Would highly recommend this VRBO for anyone looking for a relaxing/romantic getaway.

This cabin is gorgeous, comfortable and welcoming. The birds provide all of the entertainment we needed. Cranes and loons and ducks and geese. blackbirds and peepers!
We didn't meet the host but appreciated the love and care obvious in the cabin.
Thank you!

This place was perfect for what we were looking for with our weekend getaway!

What a wonderful cottage with an outstanding lake view! All kinds of wildlife - geese, loons, mallards, herons, turtles, and beaver. A young bald eagle visited the property several times. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. WiFi test indicated 20MB download - no problems streaming on our Roku.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this cabin for our anniversary trip. The cabin was in a beautiful location right on the lake with only 1 visible neighbor. Neighborhood was quiet. Cabin very clean and had everything you need in a cabin. Beds very comfy! Only about 10 mins outside of town for easy access. Cozy, relaxing, romantic. So romantic that my boyfriend decided to propose to me on this trip 😀 This spot will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Highly recommend!

Beautiful view of the lake, bring your binoculars for bird watching. Lovely cabin. Nearby restaurant Tavern at White Stag Farm did a great job too. Thank you, would stay again!

No snow, and too early and cold for outdoor activities, but we still had a great time! The ice was just starting to melt and both geese and swans graced us with their presence. The fireplace was wonderful. We actually didn't eat out at all and found cooking there to be fine. One thing I didn't see in the description or reviews is that the porch is independently heated, so you can use it year round. (forgive me if I'm wrong about that). The porch is beautiful! It's about 10-15" out of Hayward, so just a short trip to town. Thank you!

We enjoy looking over the lake and a short drive to trail off 00.

We have stayed at this location before and were excited to stay again. Unfortunately, after the first night I tested positive for covid. I sent an email we were leaving early and the response was kind and accommodating. It is a beautiful location and hope to stay there again sometime.

Great location, love the front porch/room and fireplace. Just perfect for the holiday getaway!! Quiet road so could go on walks! Didnt go near the water due to weather but the views from the house were great!!

I wish we would have stayed longer. Maybe next time.

We had a fantastic time in this cozy cabin for an relaxing anniversary getaway. Close enough to town to easily stock up on supplies, but far enough from the highway that you can feel totally disconnected from the outside world. The view of the lake out the back wall of windows is fabulous. And the place was well stocked with firewood and board games and puzzles for cozy nights in. It was exactly the kind of relaxing getaway we were hoping for.

Combination of cleanliness, comfort, beauty inside and the surroundings, access to the lake with the canoe and privacy. The silence other than the birds and the wind in the trees, and the darkness at night were quite the gifts to city dwellers.

We had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend!

We liked that this cabin was very private. We kept the windows open and listened to the loons, hawks, and other birds. The included canoe was nice to have to explore the lake and find good swimming spots. The vibe of the cabin is well-updated-rustic... Very comfortable.

As advertised which is a good thing

The cabin was very clean ..looked exactly as the pictures online..The host always Replied back to my email questions…. The only Negative thingI can say about the stay is that the depth of the water by the dock and how weedy the water was to get out into the bigger part of the lake.. But overall I would definitely stay at this Cabin again…

Everything was amazing! We caught some bass off the dock and really enjoyed the views! The cabin was very clean and so cozy. It was so relaxing and we definitely plan to be back!

Absolutely loved our stay at this comfortable cabin. The porch is fantastic and in early May was a great place to listen to the deafening sounds of the spring peepers and eerie loon calls at night. There is a canoe for paddling around (which we did) and the fire pit was a great way to cap off the days. Nearby Birkie trails were convenient for hiking. Would love to stay here again if/when I find myself back in the Hayward area. Thanks Cassidy for sharing your property!
