We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was wonderful. The pictures on the website don’t do it justice for how beautiful it really is. It was very comfortable and clean too. My only (very minor) complaint was there were no kitchen dishcloths available..not that we could find anyways ..which wasn’t a huge deal. We made due…I’m sure if I would have asked the owners about it they would have provided some or told me where some may be, but I didn’t bother, because like I said, we made due. Beds were comfy, well stocked kitchen (minus the dishcloths), firewood/firepit. Plenty of seating for everyone-both indoors and out. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our family vacation! Will definitely consider renting again!

The cabin was very spacious and clean. Our group had a great time!

My family along with our neighbors hauled our atvs/utv up for a week of riding. We are kick your shoes off at the door people, and there was sand all over the floors. We purchased an inexpensive broom and sweep up the 1st day. Other than that hiccup, we had a great time. The house was big enough for everyone to have space and stocked with kitchen and bath essentials. They have a trail that connected us to the main trails and plenty of room for trailers. Bring your mosquito spray and enjoy your adventure.

Large cabin with plenty of room for large groups.

Secluded, clean cabin with abundant space. After a night it felt like a home away from home. Many areas to hang out. Reliable and fast WiFi. Owners were incredibly responsive to messages, replying within minutes. 10/10 would stay again.

We have been coming for years on a fall hunting trip. It was located close to many hunting spots. It has an incredible amount of space to hang out and put all our gear. It would be a great place for a family reunion.
Thanks!

Wonderfully appointed cabin that is terrific for children and families. Beds are very comfortable and the space is easy to cook in. Plenty of space for multiple families to separate

Beautiful fall color, a nice family get away.

Very good location, beautiful property and huge amount of cabin space. :)

This place is huge! Plenty of space to hangout with a group of people or a big family. The outside of the building is definitely aging but the inside is beautiful! The trail for UTVing is close to the property but not on the property. Just have to jump on the road a short distance. Road is open for UTV use to get to the trail. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

There were rodent droppings in the cupboards and on the counters. We cleaned the counters but when we got back to the cabin at night there were fresh droppings. There were cobwebs everywhere and could tell it hadn’t been cleaned for awhile.
4.7
There is ample room for a family get together to explore the great outdoors. We could all be together and still have our space when needed. There is a creek that runs next to the lodge and it’s so relaxing to just listen to the water. There was a big kitchen and plenty of space to have meals and to prepare them.

Stayed here for a bachelor party and was perfect for our needs. Tons of space, each guy had their own bed, close to Tally Ho super club, and about 15-20 minutes from Hayward attractions.
Located right on the river which was gorgeous. Would stay here again!

It was spacious and plenty of bed space! My only complaints were it was very buggy outside and we found two mice over the course of the weekend.
4.7
It was a very enjoyable stay, and the house was very homely.

What a perfect spot to get away. Lots of space, clean, and fully equipped with everything you’ll need. Thanks for sharing your beautiful space with us.

Spacious quiet retreat with good access to snowmobile trails. Excellent Communication with hosts.

This was our 3rd year coming up to this beautiful cabin! Owners are very helpful and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Great location and place

Large family outing, plenty of room for 13 of us to stretch-out. Driveway was tight for large atv trailers but the circle turnaround was awesome. ATV trail quarter mile from the property.
4.7
Large group atv trip, close trails. Plenty of room.

The house was great! Nice, big and open so everyone could be together without being on top of each other. Plenty of beds for everyone. We really enjoyed our time.

Great ambiance inside, very roomy, very well stocked. Cleanliness inside wasn't great, nor was condition of outside...front steps not very solid. Still, we all really enjoyed our stay.
4.7
Beautiful property. We had family there with several age differences and everyone had a great time. If you have younger kids there is a ton for them to do inside. Kitchen was fully loaded with anything we needed to prepare meals with. There was enough room to sprawl out and relax. Loved the front porch. Easy communication with the owners. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Overall, we really liked the property. The house was perfect for the guy's weekend we planned. It had more space than we knew what to do with for 8 guys and it was nice to get away. However, the listing and property owners made it seem like canoeing right from the property would work well and when I asked ahead of time about canoeing right from the property, the property owners seemed to avoid the question. At one point saying, “We’ll talk when your reservation is closer”. The property had okay access to a creek, but the creek had no access to the beautiful lake to the north due to a culvert and dam. Access to the river to the south required wading 75+ yards in the creek. We tried to wade and pull our canoes along the creek, but it was rough going and we quickly came along a blockage in the stream not 50 feet downstream that prevented us from going further. We ended up having to find an alternate place to canoe which ended up being beautiful and well worth it, but it was not on the property. If you're booking this property to take advantage of direct access to canoe/kayak in the beautiful Hayward area, I would look elsewhere. Otherwise, the house was exactly what you could expect from a big house in the woods. In the end, it was a fun house, but disappointing for the main event, canoeing in the wilderness.

Owners were very responsive and helpful. Home had plenty of room for our group of 8. Had lots of fun on the atv trails!

Second time at Ghost Creek and it's a great venue!
Large property with plenty of space. Very secluded with large deck. Property is older, but very unique and well maintained. Very nice host, responsive and easy to work with.

Great Location. Great Amenities. Beautiful House!
We rented this house for my brother's bachelor party. We were all amazed when we walked first walked in. And loved the property. There is everything you need to have a great experience, and exactly what we needed!

Peace & Quiet in the North Woods
My boys (plus one girlfriend) and I really enjoyed our stay at the Ghost Lake lodge. We’re all well over 6’ and the cabin always felt comfortable and roomy, like it was designed for large folks like us. We mostly cooked large meals for ourselves and found everything we needed to do so (one of the burners on the outdoor gas grill isn’t working, but that’s likely an easy fix and didn’t slow us down). The creek running through the property wasn’t high enough to put canoes or kayaks into directly, and we weren’t prepared to load anything on top of our rental car, but the options for hiking (which we did) and paddling (which we didn’t) are endless and all nearby. Enjoyed the Angry Minnow brewery in Hayward, too. Overall, we ate, slept, and relaxed thoroughly. We’re grateful for the days we had and hope we can visit again. Thank you, Dave/John/Tommy/ & Jack

We enjoyed a relaxing long weekend. Everyone had a great time. We were able to cook all of our meals in the kitchen or on the gas grill and enjoyed great bonfires in the evenings. The railing going downstairs was a little loose and the house could have used a good dusting. Other than that, all was well.

Excellent VRBO choice
This is the second time that we have stayed at Barb and Don's VRBO. Excellent choice as a get away for families. The home is well cared for and nicely stocked with all you might need.

Great place
Great place to stay. Plenty of room, bathrooms and game room to accommodate 10 adults. Convenient access to snowmobile trail. Would have been better if driveway had been plowed and steps shovel. Hard to get trucks and trailers in and out and stairs were snow covered and slippery.

Nice lodging for Birkebeiner 2022
Comfortable, rustic feel, and hosts Don and Barb very friendly and accommodating. Will look to stay there again.

Snowmobile trip 22
Second year going up to this beautiful property. We love this place so much! Bath and Don make it super easy. Very responsive and gave us snow updates periodically! Right on the snowmobile trail. Plenty of room to park trucks and trailers. Our friends got engaged in front of the beautiful ghost creek that runs below the house. Would love to make this a annual trip!
