The rooms were very interestingly decorated and the food was excellent.
It was noisy with it being on the high street with a shop (open all hours) right opposite. Combination of shouting, seagulls and the church bells ringing the time on the hour every hour right next door.

The hotel is full of charm, and we loved the little touches, to refreshments outside the room, to the big fluffy white towels in the bathroom. Alot of thought has gone into creating a warm and welcoming space.
I contacted the restaurant ahead of time to let them know that we were vegan, however we had extremely limited choices on the breakfast menu which was disappointing. I think this is also reflected in their dinner menu, so we opted to eat elsewhere in the evening.

Location was great and room spacious, with a very comfy bed.
Breakfast was too fancy - just serve an English brekkie!

A great boutique hotel, lovely rooms and garden terrace. The staff were amazing, we had dinner in the restaurant and some of our friends had some food intolerance requests. The staff could not be more helpful and the food was delicious all round. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay for dinner. Thank you for looking after us
The only thing which could have improved our stay would be a quicker turnaround at breakfast.

charming place. but the room is small and sound insulation is poor

Loved the aesthetic, had wanted to stay at The Rose for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food and cocktails were exceptional.
There was nothing we didn’t like about the property, we were a little disappointed with the breakfast as dinner was good. I had the egg Benedict and my poached eggs were very over cooked and potato rosti was tiny.

Breakfast was superb - delicious and beautifully presented.
I know Deal well already and like it as my mother and sister live here.
Would have liked more choice for the tea and cake as I had invited guests to join me and there was only one choice of cake which 2 of us did not want.
Heating in my room (6) did not come on until 8.20am and as I wake early ( 6am ish) I was cold so would prefer it came on earlier.

Style, great bed, lovely staff.

The location is very convenient for the railway station and (excellent) local winebars and restaurants. The rooms are tastefully decorated and well equipped. We liked the espresso coffee bar on the first floor landing, supplemented by a carafe of cognac. And the food is exceptionally good. If you take the breakfast option you have the run of the menu, including the best eggs benedict, all freshly made to order. So no scambling to make the best of a breakfast buffet depleted by early risers. Lunch and dinner offer truly excellent dishes. Staff are both friendly and helpful and genuinely go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. We loved it.
At first we were given a rather cramped room with no TV and little clothes hanging space. We also failed to recognise that the modern heating system actually needed to be turned on via valves of a kind I can't remember needing to use since the 60s. But once activated the heating was very effective. Staff remedied all problems with little prompting and relocated us for no extra charge, to our entire satisfaction. That's the way to do it!

we’ve been flowing The Rose on social media and always wanted to go. fell in love with the place straight away. The hotel is gorgeous. the staff were super friendly with great service.
we had dinner at the hotel and found the food and drink to be good value
loved the room and the small touches like the record player and brandy perfect for the night cap. will be going again and again.
only thing was the coffee machine in the morning but that’s probably because I’m useless at these things.

Wonderful high street location, glorious interiors, we stayed in room 4 which was just amazing and had a huge bath and shower too, the food was great when it got it right.
No nappy bin in the baby changing toilet was poor. Some of the food was disappointing- a huge deal given that this is a massive selling point of the hotel. We asked for an extra towel which they said they’d bring up immediately but it never came. Some staff members were a bit cold rather than the full on warmth that I really appreciate when staying somewhere so special. No papers available in the morning which I would have expected. No dimmer switch for the bathroom so couldn’t have a super restful/atmospheric bath which was a shame.

Loved our stay. Excellent breakfast and atmosphere.
Cleanliness could be improved especially for the price. There were some strange stains on the curtains between the bathroom and room.

Gorgeous property in the heart of Deal. Rooms are gorgeous and bed was very comfy. Breakfast was amazing!!
The only downside is if you are staying on the floor above the restaurant (we were room 1) you can hear the music and people downstairs easily so if you like to be in bed early, ask for a room higher up!

breakfast was good
not very clean. bedding was clean but the soft furnishings felt sticky. curtains dusty expensive for what it was

particularly the garden and roof terrace

Low season stay in a assumingly popular vacation area. This is a big camping area and we booked it only because of a reasonable distance from Edinburgh airport. I would not mind to book again, but during the peak summer season. interesting location and good restaurant facilities. Hotel room and facilities, perhaps max 3 stars. the staff was very friendly and did help to make things work smoothly.

Warm. welcoming staff. Great decor.fFood was delicious. Central to Deal. Homemade shortbread at the tea stations super.
Toilet seat needed tightening. Plastic on one of the window panes which may have been about it breaking but an odd solution in a smart hotel. record player meant no bedside table space.
Not having any tea facilities in the room a bit tricky in the morning.

The decoration, food and the lovely front of house team!
Couldn’t adjust the temperature of the room but I didn’t ask so maybe there was a way.
4.4
Loved the food and comfortable ground floor space. The design overall was lovely and the staff were very nice and accommodating. We had a baby in our party and while not strictly a family hotel everyone was super helpful. Would stay again if visiting Deal in the future.
Nothing- all good :)

The little touches like the records in the room and the brandy bar in the hallway. Gorgeous decor and great location.
We stayed in room four and the road was a little noisy outside in the morning. Other than that, can’t fault it.

Bed was comfortable, shower was decent, coffee was good and breakfast was ok although no vegan options.
The price was just too high for the room and location. We expected more for the price. The vibe in the room was more of a pub room than a hotel. I expected it to be more like the George in Rye but it just didn’t meet our expectations. Also the room was very overlooked and had no sheer blind or curtain so I had to shut the velvet curtains to get dressed which was a bit depressing on a sunny day. I expected more privacy.

Fabulous stay at The Rose. The entire place is decorated beautifully and is very clean. The food is excellent. We loved everything we tried. Our room was small, but incredibly comfortable (the bathroom was fabulous!). Location can't be beat. Walking distance to the beach, train station, restaurants and shops. We are looking forward to staying at The Rose again soon.

Comfortable place, friendly, relaxed, no hassle, genuine, food good, room good and correct level of equipment. Just nice people too.
Leave it as it is, it’s fine.

Lovely hotel. Love the interior style. Food and drinks were delicious in the restaurant/bar.
Maybe a TV In room. And its not that sound proof.
