We had a wonderful time in Deal and would consider coming back.

We loved this nice little house with a surprisingly large amount of space. Very well kept and charming, antique interior. The house had more to offer than we would have hoped for, also having a bathroom and a separate toilet. The location was perfect - walking distance to the town centre, 2 min. to a calm and clean pebble beach and many restaurants and pubs around.

There was not much to complain about. Some sharp kitchen knives might be a good addition. That's really all the negatives I can think of.

Character historic seaman's cottage in central location.

Location, quite central. Character filled house. Owner very communicative. Floorboards spoke to us.

Stairs could be an issue for the quite elderly or infants. Require a bassinet. Stored our six cases in the entry lounge area as wouldn't try to get them upstairs. Worked ok.

Overall a really good property for a fair price. We enjoyed our stay enormously.

Nice sized accommodation. We liked the conservatory-style breakfast room. The lower floor TV and seating were excellent. The house was warm and cosy. Really nice feel to the whole house.

No parking - not that you can do anything about that. We parked about 400yds away on every day - seemed perfectly safe - and we could unload the car right outside the property. The stairs were steep which did not bother us but it might cause problems to the less mobile. A better screen for the shower would have been useful.

Lovely property in a lovely location

The property is in a great location, easily walkable to the shops, seafront, restaurants and pubs. The house had everything we needed for our short stay. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast in the conservatory each morning. Cath provided all the information necessary - the parking map was particularly helpful - and we managed to visit a couple of the recommended pubs too! We had never been to Deal before and can't wait to go back again now!

I cannot think of anything we did not like! The spiral staircases were a bit of a surprise, especially for our 70+ and 80+ parents, but they got used to them.

Could take advantage of the town's restaurants and shops from a very comfortable base.

Location to visit Deal and environs was very good. Parking easy and free although not on the premises as the cottage is in a conservation area and therefore an old property and street. The cottage is very well equipped for a larger group than us.

There was nothing to dislike. The information sent from the host was very comprehensive and she replied to any questions raised prior to the visit promptly.

Excellent holiday in a cosy cottage!

Samphire House was full of charm and character, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you might need. We particularly loved the snug, conservatory, blue bathroom and the views across the rooftops from the little window on the top floor and the beds were very comfortable so we all slept very well every night. We enjoyed exploring Deal, Walmer Castle, beautiful Broadstairs and Wingham Wildlife Park on the way home.

fabulous house only stayed two nights would like to have stayed longer but it was a cheeky weekend away for my sons 18th

This is a great house and has everything we could wish for. Recent improvements to the sun lounge have made a big difference, would defiantly use it again.

I would definitely stay at Samphire again when in Deal.

Samphire is comfortable and well-equipped, with a lovely, light conservatory, comfortable bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The period features and circular staircase make this a unique place to stay and the location is very central, while within easy walking distance of free street parking.

A week in Samphire, Deal

If you want to experience the old world charm of Deal, Samphire house is ideal. It’s very warm and comfortable, kitchen is super equipped has everything you need, plus lovely dining area. Beds are comfortable, I’m just jealous I didn’t get the super king size bed! I’m told it was lovely! A few yards walk to the Ship pub, what more can you ask for. Didn’t really want to leave, but would happily return.

No complaints.

I enjoyed my stay. Deal is the perfect place to unwind. I recommend this property to you.

Good location. Well furnished. Good amenities. Good communication by owner. Very clean. The house has a lot of original features such as very steep narrow staircases, wooden panelling, gently sloping floors, fireplaces, sash windows. Great for lovers of old properties with character.

At first the lack of parking but I found a good place on the seafront and enjoyed the walk 5 mins to house. A lot of empty holiday lets all around so the area felt a little lacking in atmosphere but this would not be the case in summer obviously.

Great location and beautiful cottage

Great location and a beautifully decorated and cosy cottage. Lovely sunroom and courtyard to sit in and enjoy breakfast. Beds were super comfy and the shower was very good. Very helpful host suggested places to eat and visit.
