About this house rental
Secluded, private retreat for guests desiring a place to relax with friends or family, yet only a 5 miles from any kind of store you could need. Private lake on 9 acres - hiking and fishing right out your door. We have wild turkeys, wild and domestic ducks, Canadian Geese, 20+ species of birds, Wild Blue Herons, turtles, bull frogs and the occasional Green Heron, fox, coyote or black bear (these wild animals have never bothered a person on the property). We have trails throughout the nine acres, which guests are welcome to enjoy.
The open floor plan is ideally suited for groups - the Great Room, Kitchen and Dining areas are all open - no walls in between. Bedrooms are all private, separate spaces with doors which lock from the inside.
In Fall of 2016, the two en suite bathrooms were completely gutted and renovated. The King Master Suite bathroom has two shower heads - one traditional, and one "hand held", which is on the side of the shower, next to a built in tile bench. The floor in this bathroom is seamless between the bathroom floor and shower floor, so anyone with mobility challenges will have a very easy time. The toilets in both en suites are comfort height toilets. Both en suite bathrooms have solid wood, double sink vanities, with lots of counter space and large mirrors. There is a blowdryer for guest use in the vanity in the King Master Suite.

My family and I loved this house and the location. We all had a wonderful time fishing in the pond, and making family dinners in the evenings. This house is perfectly located among all of the fun activities the area has to offer. We especially loved playing games in the living room while enjoying all of the unique taxidermy!

Decked-out, cozy lodge
Wynn's Way is an amazing and cozy home on a beautiful property tucked away from it all. Fully equipped from the kitchen down to the wood for the fire pit and fireplace--even the graham crackers, marshmallow and chocolate for the s'mores were provided! The collection of trophy taxidermy is incredible and gives it a lodge-like feel. We had a wonderful time and plan on returning.

Asheville Perfect
We had a lovely stay at the property in early-mid October. Everything was provided for and just as described. Expectations met. Mike (the caretaker) went out of his way to make specific recommendations for local items of interest and we found his suggestions to be spot on. Thanks, Mike!

Great home and property, perfect location.
Our choice to stay at Winn’s Way made our family gathering in Asheville a huge success.
The home has large rooms and everything you could use while on vacation.
The grounds and pond give you the feel of being way out in the countryside, yet, you are 10 minutes from Publix, Whole Foods and a laundry list of restaurants.
Mike, the property manager is like a private concierge. He gave us great lists of entertainment, dining and day trips.

Quiet, calm and private.
My husband and I stayed with our 6 & 7 year old boys. They loved exploring the property, fishing in the pond, and the smores! It was perfect for us since we tend to prefer nature and privacy.

Great house and location.
We had a great stay in Asheville. The house was great and just as described. It sits on a beautiful piece of property with its own small lake ( we caught 1 fish, and enjoyed trying). The location is ideal, because we were in a peaceful wooded setting, but were only 15 minutes from many things in Asheville. The house is quite spacious, and we enjoyed playing croquet and bocci in the front yard (house was stocked with outdoor and indoor games). We would definitely stay there again.

Family Vacation 2021
First of all, the owners of this property have put so much thought into ensuring their guests have everything they will need. A professional waffle maker was a huge hit for us! First VRBO property we have been to where everything worked and was thought of! The property is amazing, we actually saw a black bear and a little family of wild turkeys while there! I personally loved that the property is so close to a grocery store which made it super easy for me to run and grab different things we needed for the week that I may have forgotten! 😄 The house itself was big and allowed for all of my family to be very comfortable and enjoy our time together. The sound of birds and nature while drinking our morning coffee on the huge deck with the view of the pond, was so peaceful! Can’t saw enough about the property owners and how gracious and accommodating they are. Every little detail was thought out! I was sent a ton of information about certain places to go ahead of time. Also Mike the caretaker adds a special personalized aspect with the check in and check out process and was able to provide “must do” things for us. Fishing was spot on, my husband and grandson enjoyed catching bass and catfish almost daily! Not to mention the fire pit is overlooking the pond which made for the ultimate feeling of vacation! The owners even supplied a s’mores starter kit! The Warren family will definitely be back to visit agian and stay at this property! Make sure you check this place out it is a MUST!!!!

Great Getaway
Our stay was excellent. The home is huge and the great room/kitchen area is sooo large. We had 4 adults and 3 children and had more than enough open space, bedrooms and bathrooms. The kids loved fishing in the lake and wondering around the property. The house has many interesting games that also kept us entertained when inside. Although if feels as if you are in the woods way away from town, you can in fact get to Chick Fil A, Whole Foods, Biscuit Head, and everywhere else in a 5 minute short drive. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend this home.

We spent five nights at Wynn’s Way to celebrate my birthday. My husband and I enjoyed hiking around the property. Grocery stores and sweet local restaurants were close and convenient; we ordered take out a couple of times. Once our adult ‘kids’ joined us, we enjoyed a day-long adventure to nearby Biltmore Estate, and sitting by the fire pit each evening to enjoy one another’s company. It was a relaxing, cozy way to celebrate my big birthday!House manager, Mike, was delightful with lots of wonderful suggestions for things to do and see!

Great Asheville Getaway in the times of Covid!
This property was lovely, spacious, and convenient to everything that makes Asheville so great to visit. We brought our parents (in their 80s) to this home so we could have some away time with them during Covid. This property was PERFECT! Great views of the lake, lovely grounds, nice big comfy furniture in the great room, spacious and well-stocked kitchen, nice master suites (2 of them!), and pretty much anything you would need. We enjoyed the fireplace, the firepit, all of it. Mike, the caretaker, was so nice and helpful. The house is located in a great spot too. It is close to the Biltmore, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Arboretum, great dining, breweries, etc. Due to Covid, we were looking for places we could go that were outdoors and this place is it! You are short drives away from great overlooks, outdoor dining, amazing hikes and local gardens. And at the end of the day, you get to go back to this great property to enjoy a roaring fire, comfy big furniture, 2 big tables to build puzzles, play games, read books, watch football on their big TV, or make S'mores down at the firepit. A+! The owner and the caretaker really go the extra mile to take care of you and offer you ideas about places to visit and dine. Rent this place with confidence.

Great getaway in the mountains with family
Our stay at Wynn's Way was one of the best vacation rentals we've had! Everything was set up for anyone's needs- the kitchen was well stocked, indoor and outdoor games available, the family room was large and overlooked the pond. My husband and son spent plenty of time fishing (and catching a lot of fish) and making fires and smores in the evening. We saw wild turkeys and a cute little muskrat swimming in the pond. The location was convenient to many places in Asheville (about 15 - 30 minutes to tubing, waterfalls, breweries). Mike made us feel welcome and had personalized recommendations for places to go. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing house and centrally to everything. You will not run out of activities, so much for everyone!
Ty to Mike, the caretaker, & to the gracious owners for opening up their lovely home to us! Mike took great pride in making sure our vacation was special, always staying in contact with us, and offering great suggestions on places to go & sites to see. The home was perfect for us & so conveniently located to all of Ashevilles attractions. It was the most amazing vacation!

Ideal Setting for Family Vacation
The home is well-appointed with a great open living area. The setting is very beautiful, and allows access to both the cultural opportunities in Asheville and numerous hiking opportunities in the mountains. We received very attentive service from both the home owner and property caretaker. Our family is very appreciative.

Thanksgiving at Wynn's Way
Upon arriving Wynn's Way felt like home. It was a beautiful home furnished with all a family could ever want. We celebrated our son's 50th birthday along with Thanksgiving with all our family 9 of us all together. We had some really nice weather while we were there. Did some hiking. Enjoyed the fireplace at night while playing games or watching football on the TV (nice big screen). Great kitchen , perfect for several cooks in the kitchen at same time. Plenty of table space for meals and card games for all nine of us. Beds were very comfortable . Linens were well stocked. The two new bathrooms were excellent. Very roomy with nice walk in showers. Plenty of hot water for all. The 3rd bath was very well keep up. Have no bad experiences to relate all were very satisfied. This is a wonderful place to stay , very peaceful and yet close to Asheville and all it had to offer. Thank you so much! Mary R and family

Perfect house for a family getaway
We enjoyed very much our stay at this property. The house is close to downtown Asheville and Biltmore. The host kindly provided indoor and outdoor games, and supplies to make s’mores, which were much appreciated by all especially the kids. A special thanks to Mike who met us at the house when we arrived, gave us a tour, and was very quick responding when we needed something. We cannot wait to come back.

Amazing House!
The house and property were amazing! I planned a girls weekend here and we all enjoyed the house so much. The house was very cozy at night, we enjoyed a night by the fire pit and also was close enough to Downtown Asheville where we spent most nights. Only a short drive to the Biltmore! Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Couldn’t ask for a better experience.
This property has the best of all worlds. In the mountains. Nearby restaurants. Close to Asheville and all there is to do. The most accommodating owners ever. Mike was a pleasure to work with and so very attentive to our wants and needs. Lake on the property was just right for teaching grandkids to fish. The house itself has everything you need. Highly recommend.

Amazing stay
This property is one of the best of not the best we have ever rented in Asheville. The house is very well kept, very warm and extremely well furnished. You simply cannot go wrong renting this property. The family room is nothing short of amazing. Great place for the family to hang out, play games, or simply relax around the fire place. The icing on the cake is Mike the caretaker. He is such an awesome guy and makes you feel so welcomed. His stories about the house and the furnishing are very charming. A very genuine person! The pond and all the wildlife you see is awesome. Very convenient to a lot of great eating places (within 5 miles) and also convenient to get to all the water falls etc. Downtown Asheville is about 18 minutes.
We will definitely go back whenever we decide to Asheville again. We have found the house! No more home hunting in Asheville for us!

Lots of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. Interesting taxidermy. Well furnished and equipped. Fished in the pond but didn’t catch anything. Mike Hewitt was very welcoming and helpful. Very appreciative of the provided s’mores ingredients—the kids’ favorite part!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay over the New Year holiday. The house was perfect for our stay. Clean and with a fully stocked kitchen. Quiet location, yet close to town. Our caretaker was super helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend this place to friends!

Myself and 5 guys stayed here all in our late 20's to early thirties. The cabin was everything you would expect and more. Remarkably clean, and everything we needed was there. This was my first trip to Asheville and I will definitely be back!

When I planned this trip I wanted an interesting place in the woods to relax with my friends, enjoy the great out-doors and be close enough to the city to enjoy all the delights that downtown Asheville has to offer. This place exceeded all expectations! Walking in was like the scene in Ace Ventura 2 when Jim Carrey visits the mansion in Africa and freaks out. All my guests were in disbelief. In one corner there is an entire Black Bear! The pictures don't do this place justice. We played whiffle ball by the lake, had an archery contest, cooked epic meals, played board games (The place is full of board games!), relaxed by the fire pit, went hiking, took the Lazoom tour around Asheville, hit up Sierra Nevada brewery.... the list goes on. Not only did the place and location rule but the owners were some of the sweetest people I've ever known. Leading up to our stay Elisabeth constantly e-mailed me with ideas on things to do and was always eager to accommodate our every need. They even had supplies to make s'mores waiting for us on the kitchen table along with all kinds of touristy information. I venture to say that I was spoon fed one of the best vacations I have ever had. Amazing cabin, amazing location and amazing hosts! Five stars all the way! *****

I have stayed at this cabin a few times and each time is a dream! The cabin is a beautiful home set perfectly on the lot overlooking the pond. There are plenty of trails on the property and you are close to every outdoor activity you can imagine. We had fabulous weather this particular weekend, so we took full advantage of the porch and lounge chairs and exploring some of the property. We had a large group that stayed in the cabin and we had plenty of space for everyone without feeling as if we were on top of one another. We particularly loved the large and open living room. The living room has plenty of seating for everyone and the couches are so comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed and provided all of the needed supplies to prepare breakfasts and dinner in one night. The table in the dining area is huge and allows everyone to sit around the table. All of the bedrooms are comfortable and we each loved the soft sheets. The bathrooms have been updated and have the most wonderful shower heads! Every little detail has been thought of all you need to do is to bring you and/or your group and come ready to relax. You instantly feel relaxed once you arrive at Wynn's Way and that you are away from it all, but you are just a short drive from town and all the attractions of Asheville! The cabin has all you could want in an Asheville getaway!

This trip was exactly what our medium sized group of 9 needed: a quiet central gathering place with room for everyone. It was a quick drive to all the fun of Asheville, but was still distanced enough to bring an intentional feeling of focus to our time together, without distraction. We absolutely loved Staying here! The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were super comfy and the linens so soft. Also loved the way it is setup with the master on one side and the rest of the bedrooms on the other. The kitchen was great and had everything that we needed. We also loved the vaulted ceiling in the great room. Very spacious. It was so nice that the owner had everything all set up for a fire in the fireplace so all we had to do was light a match. The fragrant bunch of rosemary was a nice touch.
It was also very convenient to downtown which was great for us.
We would definitely return to Wynn's Way for future Asheville getaways and highly recommend it to others.

Stayed at this house for a Bachelorette weekeend, and would recommend to anyone interested in visited Asheville with a large group. We had a group of nine women, and everyone slept comfortably. The house is conveniently located within driving distance of downtown. It's the perfect escape for any weekend getaway.

Owner was most helpful. Home is beautiful and above expectations. We could not have been treated any better than family. Caretaker was most accommodating. Owner surprised us with a Christmas Tree and ingredients for making Smores. Also her son came over with a pan of chestnuts for us to roast. Great location. Rural yet close to stores and Biltmore. A lovely Christmas memory. Will certainly recommend this place highly.

We absolutely loved our stay in this wonderful home! After a very long ride, it was an absolute joy to arrive and find that this home was everything we were hoping for and more! It was warm and welcoming...beautifully decorated, clean and fresh, and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need. The hosts went above and beyond, not only with providing all the comforts of home, but also plenty of personal attention with answering my many questions before and after booking, to recommendations for restaurants, shopping and the sights around town. A big thank you as well to their caretaker, who immediately met us at the house, showed us around and filled us in on some great spots for dinner! The property is quiet and peaceful, with such beautiful and natural surroundings. All in all it was perfect!
