Spanish casita is lovely, clean and well located in La Jolla.
The owners/managers are wonderful and respond immediately to texts. Please be aware that this unit does not have air conditioning and in hot and humid August that would be nice. Although plenty of fans are available, keeping the windows open made the unit quite noisy due to the heavy traffic on nearby Torrey Pines Rd.

The Casita was perfect for our needs. We were in town for a family wedding and the location was perfect. Walkable to a lot of restaurants and bars as well as the cove. Especially enjoyed the outdoor patio for morning coffee, evening cocktails and card games.

We absolutely loved your cottage. The location was perfect, everything was clean and organized. The PATIO. Wow! We were there for my son’s wedding and the patio was fantastic when we had multiple people stopping by to say hello. My friend and I assembled the rehearsal dinner flowers out there and loved being outside. All agreed that our place was the “score” of the weekend compared to what they rented. We will be back!

Terrific property- cozy and comfortable. It is decorated nicely and had many delightful touches- including nice linens. We didn’t use the outdoor patio as much as I thought we would- but it’s very inviting.
It was great to have dedicated parking. There’s a bit of street noise which was more noticeable in the family room, but to be fair, we also kept the door open to enjoy the cross-breeze. The bedroom had a nice sound machine which did a great job of obscuring the traffic noise.
The only slight downside for us, was that in the VRBO listing, the map made it look like the property was closer to the wedding and other events we were traveling to attend. The distance was more like 15 minute walk vs. what we assumed would be crossing a couple streets (had to rethink the heels!). Our friends were in another VRBO and their property had a similar disparity in where the property actually was vs. the map in listing. I think it’s VRBO’s way of protecting the owners privacy. So for my next rental, I’ll definitely know to communicate with the host about the specifics, ahead of booking. Other than the events in heels, the walking distance to restaurants & shops etc. was VERY convenient.
I was traveling with my husband, but it did strike me as a place I’d feel especially safe had I been a woman traveling alone. The price is pretty amazing given all it offers- especially for La Jolla! The hosts were VERY responsive with all communications. We’d definitely recommend!

Everything was exactly as advertised. Communication from host was great (before/during/after) our stay of one week! Great location for getting to all the things we wanted to do. Can walk to everything in La Jolla. We rented a car which allowed us to go to San Diego, Torrey Pines, and Mission Beach. We had a great time and would stay again at this property!

Stayed here with my daughter as a "home base" while my extended family had a reunion at another property in La Jolla. It was a nice, central spot to come home to after spending the days out and about. I didn't meet the owners but they were kind to my family as they hung on the deck one day, and check-in/check-out was a breeze. No extensive or out of the ordinary requests at check-out. Location was an easy walk down to the cove to see the seals and to shops/restaurants, however if you have elderly folks or those with trouble walking a lot, would suggest driving or hitching a short uber back up to the house as it is quite a big hill. This is probably not the place to stay for an easy walk to a family beach, but was very lovely for us. A lot is made in the description about the traffic noise, but owner has done a lot to mitigate this with fans and noise machines, and it wasn't a problem for me. No screens on the windows, perhaps this is a coastal thing, but it did surprise me. In all, this place was very true to its description and I'd gladly stay there again.

Great location, nice neighborhood, the Casita is full of characters! The kichenlet is only good for cook a breakfast. If anyone has a problem to fall into sleep, it should be considered that the traffic noise around the bedroom. The authentic carpet really shows the aging.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was cozy and comfortable and the terrace was perfect for reading and relaxing which looks out of over their beautiful yard. The proximity to everything was great and Eric was very helpful and quick at replying. Wonderful stay!

The casita was a nice cozy place to stay. Our favorite part of the casita was the private outdoor patio area. The inside of the casita is a bit more dated looking than what the pictures showed. Some new flooring would make the place feel more open and cleaner. Overall it was a great stay.

It was our 30th wedding anniversary and the hosts had a bottle of bubbly on ice for us on our arrival which we loved. The apartment is cute but could use some updating, especially the carpeting. Many of the dishes had chips which is an easy fix. The location is great as it is in walking distance to many restaurants and the cove. Would recommend

we had a great time as it was a few minute walk to coffee shops and the ocean in the morning and restaurants and shopping in the afternoon and evening. The hosts recommendations on where to go to eat etc were all great!!
LaJolla was our favourite spot on our trip. :)

This was a cute place and a comfortable base from which to explore. It felt like a safe, easy-to-walk neighborhood. We never interacted with the owners, but they were often on-site (at their own home), so we knew they were available if anything was needed.
It is important to note that the place is situated at the corner of a busy intersection; also, the carpet throughout the place did not seem new, as stated, or particularly clean (lots of rugs positioned on top of the carpet and dusty by the baseboards). But the bathroom and kitchen were clean, and if we were staying in La Jolla again, we would consider the casita again.

Super landlords. Communication prior to our stay was exceptional and the lodging was comfortable and excellently located to make the most of visiting the coast and the shops.
We hope to return.

We loved the outdoor patio. We didn’t have a car so the location was ideal to walk everywhere. We didn’t want to eat out so we really enjoyed the large grill on the patio. Beds were very comfortable.

Cozy but very comfy cosita with short walks to the village for restaurants, shopping and ocean spots. Loved it and can’t wait to return.

The photos are pretty accurate, I’d say, but the carpet is frayed and looked/felt a bit dirty. That’s likely what happens at the beach. The bed is quite squeaky and saggy, especially on one side. Some consumable items were quite low (facial tissue, dish soap) and there was no conditioner.
Yes, the street noise is something here and yes, they’ve included a white noise machine. The street noise, which the owners can’t help of course, made the patio feel unusable for relaxation.

Very walkable location. No need to rent a car; we just used Lyft and walked to restaurants, soaked up 60+ degree sun, & took walks in the village and along La Jolla Cove. Eric was a very gracious host, helped us up & down the stairs with our (heavy) suitcases. Had to leave a day early, alas, due to a predicted blizzard in Portland (very unusual).

We are grateful to have spent time at the Casita while I had a conference in SD to attend in November. We enjoyed the ease of getting there, and my wife could walk La Jolla from the Casita and enjoy a day out at the oceanside parks or the downtown. Our host were very gracious to us and made our stay very comfortable. Our regret was not meeting them in person as I am sure they are kind people. The room is situated above above and adjoining the owner's home, but we never ran into the owners. The Casita was heated by electric heaters, which was enough for the late fall. We did not park in the spot in the driveway, but street parking was tricky sometimes, again, even in the fall. I really felt we had a great location and it was fun to come back to relaxing place after a day out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Spanish Steps casita near La Jolla Cove. The place was clean and well equipped and, as we were there in December, the two space heaters and super soft extra blankets came in handy. Erik and Yvonne were very helpful and responsive, and they provided a thorough and accurate list of neighborhood bistros, most within walking distance. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

Check in and out was extremely easy and convenient. Perfect stay, thank you so much!!

Host spent a lot of time decorating this small one bedroom unit into a very beautiful, beachy feel. I appreciated the very comfortable sofas and chair in the living room. They were a soft leather, and very easy to stretch out and nap on! The bath had nice large, new fluffy towels. The bed was a B+.
It is located just two blocks from downtown, and the beach. They provided beach chairs and other equipment for a nice day at the beach. The only drawback is the noise level from Torrey Pines Drive is too high for my liking. It is constant even through the late hours of the night.

We were able to walk around la Jolla everyday and try different restaurants in the area. We walked to the beach easily. The patio was a very nice place to relax. The entire Casita felt very private. We had a great vacation!

My 2 best friends from high school and I had a girls getaway. The casita was perfect for us and the patio was a great place for us to catch up! The weather was perfect and the location was great and within walking distance of shops and restaurants!! We will definitely be staying here again!

The most charming casita—perfect for me, my husband, and thirteen year old daughter and the most excellent location. We walked to shops, restaurants, the ocean sunset each night, and Ubered to airport and zoo and sea cave kayaking (it was very easy to not have a car which was heaven). Fabulous decor, fabulous patio area that we cooked out on after easy walk to grocery store and liquor store (nicest cast grill my husband has ever used). Multiple oscillating fans which as someone who always packs a fan, was greatly appreciated. Eric and Yvonne’s front yard that you see to your right when climbing the steps to the casita is stunning, gorgeous hydrangeas and greenery. Reading my book and looking out at that was a highlight. There is a full length mirror behind the bedroom door…it was just wonderful, we were all depressed to leave lol.

My recent stay in La Jolla through VRBO was absolutely fantastic! I cannot express enough how thrilled I am with this experience. From start to finish, everything was top-notch, earning this accommodation a well-deserved five-star rating.
First and foremost, the location was incredible. Situated in the heart of La Jolla, I was within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, and local attractions. The convenience factor alone was worth every penny.
The property itself was impeccable. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated space. The attention to detail was evident, with modern furnishings and all the amenities I could ask for. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring.
One of the highlights of my stay was the stunning ocean view from the balcony. Waking up to the sight of the waves crashing against the shoreline was simply breathtaking. It was the perfect spot to enjoy my morning coffee or unwind in the evening while watching the sunset.
The VRBO host was exceptional. Communication was prompt and friendly, ensuring a smooth check-in process. They were also readily available to answer any questions I had during my stay, which made me feel well taken care of.
Overall, I can confidently say that this VRBO stay in La Jolla exceeded my expectations. The combination of the prime location, impeccable property, and outstanding host made it a truly memorable experience. I would highly re

This little casita was perfect for our stay in La Jolla! It contained all we needed for stay-in breakfast, and was within walking distance to the best of La Jolla. Yes, it is located on a very busy street/intersection, but inside the privacy of the casita, there was little traffic noise and no interruption to sleep. We would stay again!!

This place was super charming and perfect for the 3 of us. The casita is in walking distance of so many amazing restaurants and the beach. The street noise does get loud but there is a sound machine in the bedroom to help cover up the noise. I would definitely recommend this place.

Had a great stay; the place was exactly as it appeared online. Very clean. The pull out bed in the living room was made and opened up for us. Great location--especially if you enjoy walking. So many restaurants are just a few blocks away and you can avoid parking--which is always a bit of a hassle in La Jolla. Owners were great, sending restaurant recommendations and checking in with us via email, yet totally invisible to us--even though they are on the same property. I was traveling with my sister, and this was perfect for us. It might not be perfect for you if you need total privacy between the bedroom and the living room--both open onto the kitchenette without a communicating door--and the bathroom off the bedroom, so the living room guest has to pass through the bedroom to the bathroom. Not a problem for us, but, might be for some. The kitchenette was exactly as pictured and perfect for us to have a simple breakfast, a cheese platter, or sandwiches for a picnic--which is exactly what we needed. If you plan on cooking a gourmet meal--this is not enough kitchen for you. Oh! They had a free-standing freezer, which is great for ice for stocking your cooler for the beach.
Again, highly recommend the place!
