The Warren/Lake Waramaug area is a wonderful summer vacation destination. We come here every year and are so glad to have found this cottage retreat. The house has been totally redone and tastefully updated so that everyone is comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything! We especially loved the screened-in porch and spent most of our time out there for meals, reading and puzzles. Michelle is a fabulous, attentive host.

A quaint house in the woods. Beautiful surroundings. Had deer visiting us one morning

If our childcare hadnt fallen through, this would have been a wonderful couples getaway! It is tucked away on the side of a small mountain, and we even were greeted by a doe and fawn upon arrival.
The owner was so kind and helpful, offering last minute ideas for the kids and was always available when needed. We were grateful for the experience and for dealing with such a delightful owner.

We have stayed here several times but this was the first time we could use the porch due to weather. It is so lovely and peaceful - quiet enough for napping.

Well equipped and comfortably furnished. Cozy in the cool fall weather. The gas fireplace is beautiful and warm. Hikes right down the road. Great cycling.

We arrived hoping to have a lovely fall weekend of biking and visiting a local vineyard. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate but Michelle made sure we had a delicious bottle of wine waiting for us and sent us several other ideas for activities for the weekend. We managed a walk at White Conservation Center. We also bought Arethusa cheeses for appetizers and enjoyed the wine at the cottage. It was a cozy weekend get-away!

The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was great with a nice screened porch off the kitchen. Very easy to communicate any questions. Michelle was so nice, texting all info we needed and left us a nice bottle of red wine to enjoy during our visit. Would definitely come back again when in the area.

We had the chance to get away for a short weekend stay. Found this lovely home and thought it would be a great place. Well, it was! As some have commented, it is even nicer/better than the already great pictures. And, it seems larger on the inside, particularly the kitchen, than on the outside.
The interior is well designed and stunning. There's also an amazing screened in back porch. We spent a lot of time enjoying being on the porch.
The owner is awesome too. Great communication and beyond helpful with suggestions about what to see, where to go, what to do.
Overall, fantastic! We hope to come back and stay again. Thank you, thank you!!

This was our second time to enjoy this property while in the area to attend a delightful performance at Sharon Playhouse. The space is clean, well-appointed and completely comfortable for 4 or 5 people. The screened in porch is well shaded, looking out into a beautiful woods. We’ll be back!

This property was newly renovated as well as the furnishings. The owner was quite helpful and concerned that everything was as we expected and gave us great tips on the area.
My only advice is that if you are looking for a larger indoor area to hang in the layout only permits this with a lovely screened in porch.
Comfy seating for 3 adults by the indoor fireplace.
It was my husband and adult child which was perfect.

Our second time staying in this wonderful home. We had a hiccup on arrival — a problem with the water due to the deep freeze that preceded our stay — but the hosts took care of it quickly and were incredibly gracious and accommodating. Fantastic.

We spent 3 nights and enjoyed the quiet that surrounds this well appointed home. Located in a wonderful area of CT that has lots to do, this home afforded us the ability to hike, to enjoy a winery, to visit farm stands, and to get ice cream. Communication with the owner was easy. When we arrived, there was a bottle of wine waiting for us. We will definitely come again!

We had such a lovely sleep and short time at this beautiful old renovated home. Our host was very welcoming and communicative. She went above and beyond to share good restaurants in the areas. We were traveling for work so we weren’t able to spend much time at the home but wished we were able to enjoy it more. It had everything you needed if you wanted to cook a meal. The upgraded bathrooms were a nice addition. The home was super clean which we loved and appreciated. The screened in porch was such a treat for us especially with the gifted wine after a long days work! Thank you!! The beds were very comfortable and had nice linens. Large bedrooms! We all wished we were able to hang out at the home more as it was so warm and welcoming. Will visit again for sure with more time to explore the area.

We really enjoyed every aspect of our stay at Michelle's cottage !! The place is restored perfectly by keeping some the original hand hewn wooden beams and making it modern at the same time. Michelle is a wonderful host, quick to get back to you and was able to answer questions and give great advice for places to go and things to do. We all enjoyed our stay there very much. Thank you for everything Michelle.

Beautifully renovated, historic home that has a great screened in porch. Kitchen well equipped. Nice fire pit. Michele, our host, provided lots of information on local events, shopping, hiking, and things to do that made our stay more enjoyable. Michele was very easy to reach and responded quickly.

First the property is lovely. It’s much larger than I expected. Michele communicated clearly and was extremely responsive to any questions we had. She provided a comprehensive list of all the must see’s and do’s. We loved the home and the area and would love to come back.

This 18th century renovated cottage provided the perfect escape from New York City. It's beautifully designed with its exposed beams and lovely screened in patio to enjoy the freshness of the outdoor green canopy. The host, Michelle, made sure we had access to all the amenities--the fire pit, grill, fireplace for the cool evenings. The location is ideal for hiking in nearby nature preserves--Hidden Valley and Macricostas Preserve are phenomenal. The house felt so welcoming after long days exploring the area. We only regret that we didn't stay longer.

This is great location to explore Litchfield County. The house is a charming update on an old country farm cottage. We spent a lot of time on the screen porch. Great to have access to Lake Waramaug. Property manager was very helpful and attentive during ou stay.

What a great little house to in which to spend vacation! And it really isn’t so little. It is surprisingly big, comfortable, and exquisitely outfitted. Great kitchen. Fantastic screened porch. Great TV and cable. Great linens. Great beds. The house is simply charming! The owners - Michelle and Paul and their daughter - could not be lovelier or more helpful. We will be back. It was simply the best.

Awesome Getaway!
Michelle was an outstanding host, communicating with me before my arrival and answering my questions, and staying in touch throughout our stay. When we got to the rental, it proved to be beyond our expectations. Upon entering the spacious, tastefully remodeled 18th century cottage with a plethora of amenities, we knew we would be in for a good stay. Surrounded by a quiet, private country setting and conveniently located, this place did not disappoint. I hope to return someday. Highly recommend!

Another wonderful visit to our favorite CT escape!
We cannot say enough good things about this house and the hosts, Michelle and Paul. It is located in a beautiful, quiet location that screams RELAX, but yet is located close to wonderful food, shopping and culture. The screened in porch is my happy place! A welcoming and calm getaway nestled in the woods.
A nice and cozy cottage nestled in the woods. Locations was beautiful, very green and lush and very conveniently located with easy access to Kent, Litchfield & of course Warren. Provides you with plenty of opportunities to go explore, dive into nature all while giving you a great place to relax at the end of the day. My family very much enjoyed our stay!
The check-in process was very convenient and the host was very easy to connect with, responding to messages often within moments and was very open and communitive with providing suggestions and local area tips. We look forward to coming by the cottage again when the opportunity presents itself.

Great Country Escape!
The setting around the house was lovely. And the interior was beautifully decorated and very homey and comfortable. There were three of us and we all had plenty of space to spend together yet, enough space that could be enjoyed privately. Bantam and Litchfield were very close to the house making for fun day trips. Plenty of nice restaurants in the area too. Our host Michelle was so helpful and accommodating. We couldn’t sing her praises enough. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quaint and quiet country getaway!

Perfect home for Winter getaway
Michelle's home is in the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The property is located on a quiet road on a wooded lot. The house has been masterfully renovated with high quality materials, yet still keeps its colonial charm with exposed hand hewn wooded beams throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The towns of Litchfield, Kent and Cornwall are a short drive away. A visit to Kent Falls is a must see.

A Charming Country Getaway
We immensely enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this darling cottage in Warren. It is very spacious inside, more than it appears in the photos. The house sits at the end of quiet country lane. We were lucky to have a light dusting of snow which made everything very pretty. As all of the other visitors have stated, the owners renovated beautifully and each surface is impeccably clean. The kitchen is stocked with anything you might need for a gourmet meal. The beds are so comfy and hotel-like in the quality of their linens. The upstairs is spacious with a lovely sitting area to cozy up with a good book. Michelle gave lots of tips about the area , and even stopped by for a hello with a bottle of wine ! How many hosts do that ? So nice! We'll definitely be back!
