South Wind on the Ocean is a lavish oceanfront full resort located along a pristine stretch of beachfront along the “Golden Mile” of Myrtle Beach, named for its multi-million dollar homes. This fabulous 1700 square foot property is located on the 11th floor and sleeps 10 with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The large master suite is complete with walk-in closets, a whirlpool garden tub with separate shower and double sinks, and a king-sized bed. You also have a large private oceanfront balcony accessible from the master suite. The second bedroom has two queen beds with an adjoining bathroom, and bedroom number three has one queen with a bathroom just outside the door. All bedrooms are equipped with ceiling fans, large TVs and DVD players for your enjoyment. The large comfortable living area offers additional sleeping with a queen sleeper sofa. The living area has a splendid panoramic view of the ocean and a large private balcony to enjoy the glorious Myrtle Beach sunrise, or the evening ocean breezes. When you arrive at South Wind, you'll immediately start to unwind when you walk in through an exquisite, lush courtyard featuring reflecting pools with fountains and walkways. The amenities are almost too many to mention. But, let's start with the oceanfront water recreation area, featuring large indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor whirlpools, an oceanfront kiddie pool, a lazy river ride, an exercise and fitness room and very convenient access to the wide sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Just grab your beach bag, throw that towel over your shoulder, take along your favorite book and some sunscreen and you're set for a relaxing day in the warm Southern sunshine. You may also want to take advantage of an oceanfront playground with walking trails. The only thing that matches the spectacular outdoor and water amenities is the beautifully appointed interior design of this exquisite condominium home. You'll love eating in with a large fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite countertops. Throughout this unit, you'll find upgrades you would expect in a luxurious beachfront condo – ceramic tile and plush carpeting underfoot, for example. Full size washer and dryer are in the condo. Complimentary Wi-Fi available. There's probably not a reason you'll want to leave this fabulous slice of heaven, but if you do want to get out, you're centrally located to almost everything you can think of to do – shopping, dining, golf, music theaters, Broadway at the Beach with the IMAX 3D Theater…if you can think of it, you're not more than a few minutes away! We can't say enough about this fine property! If you want to feel pampered, this is the one for you! Per the HOA rules and regulations, parking is limited to 2 vehicles and motorcycles are not allowed. LINENS (bed sheets, bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, bath mats and kitchen towels) ARE NOT INCLUDED. LINEN PACKAGES ARE OFFERED AND CAN BE ORDERED WHEN YOU SIGN YOUR RENTAL AGREEMENT. This unit looked so good online we were worried if it would be that nice in person. It exceeding our expectations. Such a great full view, plenty of space, stocked kitchen and even the closet had beach chairs and boogie boards. First time at this property and first time at Myrtle beach and we will be coming back! The only thing we didn’t like was having to order towels and linens with our reservation. Never heard of that before. And then when we arrived our towels were not there and nobody got back to us until Monday because the answering service said no towels is not considered an emergency and they weren’t allowed to contact anyone. Other than that wonderful stay and wonderful unit! Our new favorite place!

Fantastic property, had everything we needed and more. Plenty of space for our family of five, comfortable furnishings, well appointed kitchen, and beautiful ocean views. Closet even had beach chairs and toys for use but we had already purchased our own. Property is in need of some minor repairs. Management was aware of them when reported and has plans to complete repairs. Thank you for sharing this beautiful space!

Other than the weather being a tad bit chilly, our spring break was a pleasant time. The condo was perfect for our group- beautiful views from the balcony, and more than enough room to accommodate our family. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories! Thanks again!

This listing was as pictured and as described. The condo was clean and surpisingly spacious. All of the appliances worked great and we had everything we needed during our stay. The icemaker is a big perk as it produces a ton of ice everyday. The wrap around balcony is probably rhe best feature of this property, and while the outdoor furniture is a bit worn out, many people can enjoy this area comfortably. There is also easy access to the beach and the beach is very clean and well maintained.
Communication by the property management company was top notch, and much better than I have experienced elsewhere. They were very friendly and extremely communicative before and during our stay. They reached out several times via phone, email, and text to ensure we had all of the information we needed to easily access the unit and enjoy our stay. We did not have any major issues during our stay, but if we did, I would be confident the management company would have taken care of the situation quickly.
The property overall was nice, but didn't seem to be well maintained. The pools were fairly dirty with bugs and dirt rings around the inside (never saw them cleaned during our stay). They also had a good amount of sand in them (need vacuumed) and the areas around the pools and hot tub could use a good power washing (usually something I see done daily at other properties), as there were several areas coated in a heavy black grime. There were also broken tiles in the pools that need repaired.
One con of the stay is that there seems to be a smoker in one of the adjoining units and the smell permeated through to this unit. The smell was noticeable throughout our entire stay. This was something we noticed as soon as we walked into the unit (which seemed to be heavily deodorized before we got there). However, it wasn't so bad that it ruined the stay, and didn't seem to be something within the property management company's control. The front door of the property is also in need of attention as it sticks very badly and is obnoxiously loud to open and close. We actually had a lot of trouble getting it open initially and thought our keys didn't work. Also, the unit should be upgraded to an electronic lock system. When arriving and departing, you have to pickup/drop-off your keys at the management companies office about 10 minutes away. This is very inconvenient before and after traveling.
Overall, this is a decent property and we would possibly consider staying again.

Walking into condo it looked nice but after entry it smelled like old musty socks the carpet was sticky it was dirty. So I went out and bought cleaning supplies and the spray carpet cleaner used a hard brush with long handel to scrub them mopped the carpets with mop in every room because I couldn't allow my grandkids on nasty carpet that has not been cleaned in a long time they do not wash the comforters after each guest. I literally had to wash everything had to wash out cabinets wash all dishes counter tops just a lot of work for a vacation and it is not in walking distance of the boardwalk 42 min walk 2 min drive so not only did VRBO lie but the people that list it for the owner lied. It's ok you live and learn my grandkids had a blast and that all that count. But will not book thirough this again direct book a house booking only.

This place was perfect for us!! Spacious, clean and it’s central location allowed us to explore Myrtle Beach area without traveling too far. Loved that we had beach access and beach items (chairs, sand toys and boogie boards) were in our condo to use!! Highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful View!
This is our 2nd time staying in this unit. We love the spaciousness it provides for larger families and the view on the corner unit is spectacular! There were, however, minor cleaning issues this time around but Carmen got right on top of it when we reported. When paying over $5,500 a week, the little things matter. We did enjoy our time and thanks for having us.

Perfect beach and golf get away
The condo was very clean and spacious, it was everything that it was advertised to be. The check in was friendly and seamless. The only annoyances were the kitchen faucet needs to be replaced as it was difficult to get the water temperature desired and the air temperature was always cool despite increasing the temperature on the thermostat. .

Nice property, wouldn’t stay again
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with it.. The property management was completely non-communicative when asked questions ahead of our stay- no response to emails or voicemails. You have to drive four miles away from the property to pick up keys and drop them off after your stay. The condo was supposed to be ready at 4:00, but was still not cleaned after 5:00. Once we got into the condo it was pretty and worked well for our family of eight. The bedrooms had no air circulation so you need to use fans and leave the doors open. Nice view of ocean and large accommodations. Overall, a nice property but not as great as advertised. We were disappointed.

Very nice layout with an awesome view of the ocean. Everything was as it was advertised. Although, it would be nice if the check in was actually at the same facility. We initially went further north to a location with the same address, a little confusing. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Great oceanfront condo!
Everything at this property was wonderful. Easy check-in/check-out with the management company, condo was as advertised (great layout, fantastic view, nicely furnished, nice pools, lazy river and hot tubs, etc.). Also, this condo is in a calm/nice area far enough from the craziness of boardwalk/southern Myrtle Beach area but still close enough to restaurants and attractions. We would definitely recommend!

Myrtle Beach Family Vacation
Oceanfront Vacation Rentals, Inc are great to work with as I have stayed in 2 different condos at South Wind. However I would not rent 1107 again unless some renovations have been completed. The bedrooms received no air circulation and there are no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Living room sofas need to be replaced. The clothes dryer needs to be replaced or the vent needs cleaning - it took hours to dry clothes. The kitchen facet was very loose and came off, the ceiling light was detached at one corner and was very dirty inside the shade. There were no sharp knives I had to go out and buy some and scissors. The toaster was broken in the center and only toasted the outside - it was probably dangerous for us to use but we did anyway. The doorbell didn’t work so we always had to carry a key because my elderly parents could not hear us knocking at the door. A couple of bedroom lamps were missing the knob to turn them on. A couple of bedroom drawers had no stopper so the drawers flew out making them unusable. The hallway bathroom tub drain was extremely slow - used it once because I was standing in water to my ankles (yuck!). Not sure how this pasted the cleaning crew. There are more but I’ll stop here. Luckily we are a family that makes the best of situations and we still had a good vacation.

Beautiful View with a few maintenance issues
The view from this unit is beautiful! The unit is very spacious and the furnishings were very nice. None of the TVs worked the night we arrived. We called the agency we rented from but did not receive a return call (it was after hours on a Friday). We called again the next morning and the person we talked to sent the "maintenance" person up. He stood about 20 feet away from the TV and looked at the screen and said he couldn't do anything about it because he just deals with outside maintenance. They finally contacted the owner of the unit because they had to contact the cable provider. The owner supposedly tried for 6 hours before giving up and calling the property manager who came to the unit and spent almost 2 hours on the phone with the provider before he found out only the person who cancelled the service in February could call and get it reconnected. The TV problem would not have been a big deal but we had 2 people unable to walk much and they were spending time in the condo with nothing to do while we went to the beach. The issue was finally fixed for 3 of the 4 TVs after we spent some of our time on the phone with the provider as well, which was not how we wanted to spend part of our vacation. We also found 2 days before the end of our stay one of the bathroom sink drains (the one that goes to the bedroom with the nonworking TV) leaked quite a bit. (originally thought there was an issue with shower curtain being outside the tub when showering). We called to report the issue. When we returned from our outing that day we found a note taped to the sink that the water was leaking to the condo below us so they shut the water off to the sink and they would be back the next day to fix it. The master bathroom and third bathroom sinks also had leaks once we got to checking them, which we reported. The plumber never ended up coming back to fix the leaks so the one bathroom sink was not usable the rest of our stay. Some type of compensation was mentioned to my husband with the TV issues but was never officially offered. I would probably rent this unit again but I would tell them to check it before our arrival to make sure there were no maintenance issues that need corrected.

Relaxing beach vacation
South Wind unit 1107 is absolutely beautiful! We had a wonderful family vacation. Plenty to do in Myrtle Beach but the most fun we had was just hanging out at the beach and pool. The only complaint we had was the cleanliness of the unit. We had to spend the first hour of our vacation cleaning before we could really start enjoying our trip. Big disappointment! Overall a great time at South Wind and Myrtle Beach!

The condo was wonderful. We had a great view from the eleventh floor. The only issue was the front door was a bit sticky I had to jiggle the lock on occasion to get it to work correctly. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
