About this cottage rental
Location, location, location! This New England-style, 2-story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 car garage, cozy home is located on one of the sweetest, most exclusive, spots on the Kennebunkport oceanfront, offering spectacular 180 degree views of the rocky Maine coast (which includes views of Walker's Point, former President Bush's family home), on a private road. Close to everything you want to see, but private, quiet, and peaceful. The home sleeps six in 3 bedrooms. There are beautiful ocean views throughout the home, thanks to its open design and to large expanses of glass and windows opening up onto the large, sunny deck. From the deck, it is steps away to the ocean where you can sunbathe on the rocks, watch the waves crash, and gaze into the tide pools. From the deck, you can view tony yachts sailing from the Kennebunkport Marina, sail and lobster boats passing by. Best of all you can smell the ocean air and watch the sun rise and set over the Atlantic. The privacy and peacefulness afforded by the oceanfront location is enhanced by a large play space in the front yard and an open wetland across the street attracting a variety of birds and waterfowl. This gem of a vacation home is only a 30 minute drive from the airport in Portland, Me., a 90 minute drive from the airport in Boston, Mass., and a 75 minute drive from the airport in Manchester, N.H.
The Cottage is the perfect spot from which to enjoy the towns of Kennebunkport, Cape Porpoise, and Kennebunk and to explore all of southern Maine including Portland (an arts and foodie destination), Oqunquit, and Freeport (an outlet shopping destination). It is walking distance to the heart of Kennebunkport village with its many charming shops and restaurants. Walk, run, or ride a bike into the village of Kennebunkport via the famous a Ocean Avenue (with its many stately mansions facing the ocean) or by way of tree lined back roads and trails. Visit the nearby beaches in Kennebunk and Goose Rocks or the Rachel Carson Wildlife Reserve in Wells. Play golf at one of the many nearby courses. Sample the shops, restaurants, museums, and art galleries of trendy Portland, Me., Ogunquit, Me., or the outlet stores in Freeport, Me. Or simply relax at home and enjoy views of the open ocean, sunrise and sunset, crashing waves, lobster men working their traps, waterfowl of all kinds, and the many crustaceans and small sea life that fill the tide pools and rocky crevices just beyond the oceanfront deck. All while the soothing sound of the ocean waves and tides wash over the rocks behind the house.
This Cottage features 3 bedrooms (sleeping 6), 3 full baths (with 2 shower/tub combos, 1 shower only), a spacious, open living and dining space downstairs, a huge, open den with adjacent bedroom with double bed and bath upstairs), and a downstairs back deck that is equipped with outdoor furniture and charcoal grill.
The ground floor has 2 bedrooms (carpeted) and 2 bathrooms, one with queen mattress and shower/bath and one with queen bed and shower/bath. The living/dining space downstairs (carpeted) is large, with windows and sliding door facing the ocean and opens to the deck. The kitchen (laminate wood floor) is completely equipped to prepare 3 meals a day, with dishwasher, microwave, electric stove/oven, refrig/freezer, coffeemaker, and has its own view of the ocean through the kitchen sink window. The downstairs is equipped with phone, cable TV, DVD player, and wireless internet.
The 2 car garage (with automatic door opener) provides entrance to the kitchen, making the unloading of groceries easy and efficient, and to the laundry room with washer and dryer.
Once you spend your vacation in this home, you will want to return year after year.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It is in an ideal location. If you like to walk, it is a pleasant trek along the ocean to get to town. But for a small portion, the walk is on a protected path. The views are spectacular. The cottage is very private and quiet. We would definitely stay here again. Check in / Check out was easy

House was perfect for our vacation with our three adult children and the deck overlooking the ocean was pretty much where we hung out the entire time! Highly recommend.

Nancy Meyers just might steal this location tor her next film! The view keeps calling us back! There’s nothing like walking out on those magnificent rocks , breathing in the ocean air, and gazing on the endless ocean! We can’t wait to get back!
Rosemary, our host was thorough in her description and always accessible. She takes meticulous care of her property. Our family is ready to visit again!

You cannot find a prettier location on the East Coast. The views from the deck and every room are spectacular, and there is nothing better than the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks in the evening. The neighborhood is very private and within walking distance of town. We thoroughly enjoyed are stay.

Beautiful, comfortable and great location!
My family and I rented this house for my mom’s 84th Birthday. It was the perfect venue for a group to gather. The views from the deck were spectacular. We spent most hours drinking coffee, wine and beer ( depending on the hour :)) on the deck and enjoyed seal watching, egrets, and moon rises. Listening to the waves as we fell asleep was also a highlight. The location was perfect for members of the group to split off into smaller pods to go for walks along ocean avenue ( many Bush sightings during walks of that intrigues you) and though a longer walk, could walk to dock square too. Some folks have commented on the furnishings needing updating but the couches have been and the beds too ( all guests commented on how comfortable their beds were). The kitchen; Yes, is dated but the pros of the house certainly outweighs the Formica countertops. My minor suggestions to the owner included ice trays and perhaps another shade umbrella for the deck (there is already one). Other than these minor suggestions, we will certainly book again and look forward to future family gatherings there.

Loved It!
We loved it from the minute we walked in the front door and saw the fabulous view. The house is charming and immaculate, a short drive to town or quiet Cape Porpoise. Highly recommend.

Perfect spot on the Maine coast!
We had two couples and two kids (18 months and 7 months) at this very charming house for a week and it was the perfect Maine coastal retreat for the covid era. We had complete privacy and incredible waterfront views, but were also only a few minutes’ drive to town or Cape Porpoise village for takeout lobster rolls or Bradbury Brothers market.
The house is not ultra modern, as you can see in the photos, but it is has classic beach cottage charm and is totally functional (full kitchen, multiple bathrooms, good WiFi for working remotely, etc).
Rosemary was very helpful in rescheduling our original trip from mid June to late August and we can’t wait to get back for next summer.

Great Location but House and Guest Experience Needs Improvement
Let me begin by saying that this home is in an exceptional Kennebunkport location with amazing ocean views. However, the property was a disappointment. It is in dire need of updating. The furniture and furnishings are decades old, broken, musty, and uncomfortable (especially the beds.) The house was poorly supplied with extremely limited paper products, no soap in the showers, no dish towels in the kitchen. We were treated as house-sitters — expected to make and strip the beds, add salt to the water softener, move deck furniture into the garage when a storm was approaching, etc. The extensive “departure instructions” made us question why a housekeeping fee was charged. That said, this property would be great if the owner would consider investing some money to improve the home, furnishings and the guest experience.

Cannot beat the location and view
We stayed at this Kennebunk house for 5 nights in July and cannot say enough about the view and location! I could sit out on the deck staring at the ocean forever and it was so convenient to the local beaches and restaurants. I kept the bedroom windows open all night and loved falling asleep listening to the waves. We really enjoyed Mabel's just down the street and picked up steamed lobsters one night and enjoyed them out on the deck. Rosemary was so so nice and accessible and took care of everything we needed. You will never regret a trip to Maine in the summer!

Great location, House desperately needs upgrading.
Great town, great neighborhood, great location! This house is so funky, basic, outdated. Zero money has been invested into this property in decades! with the exception of a new refrigerator, washer and some painting. There is absolutely no excuse for this. You have to make your own beds, do all your own cleaning. There is an old moldy stench in the house that is deeply imbedded in the wall to wall to wall carpeting. There are all sorts of added fees by the owner that are really unfair considering the condition. I own my own rental property and we do everything for you, this is not that. While the owner is very sweet, she asked me to do tasks that I would never ask renters to do! We will not be staying here in the future.

My favorite vacation place!
This house and location never disappoint! Everything is comfortable and well stocked. The location is just minutes from everything you need or want.
I could sit on the deck all day. We open the windows and take in the majesty of the water hitting the rocks!

Awesome cottage
We loved it. Perfect location, the views were spectacular and 3 bedrooms worked very well for us. Lots to do, but we enjoyed just sitting on the back patio watching the waves hitting the rocks. We also spent many hours walking on the rocks discovering tide pools.

Don't risk losing this little bit of heaven while you look at other properties.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My family spends a week on Maine's southern coast every July. We were fortunate enough to enjoy every minute of this year's stay at 15 Seaview Avenue in Kennebunkport. Rather than repeating the superlatives in all of the earlier reviews, with which I wholeheartedly agree, I'll try to describe a few features that other guests did not mention.
So, of course, my first remark is the one made by every other reviewer - relaxing on the deck or enjoying meals next to the huge dining room windows guests in this house are overwhelmed by the ocean views unlike any others I have ever seen. The 8 or 9 of us on this trip spent a week marveling at the beauty of the locale and the comfort of the house. We never once felt stir crazy, even on the one rainy day.
Now for a few items not focused on by other reviewers. (1) We had more space than we knew what to do with. The 1st floor was "open floor concept" from front door through living room, dining area and all looking on to the enormous wrap-around deck. Then the rocks, waves and ocean. Oh my, I miss it. Upstairs, in addition to a spacious bed room and bath is a huge, open carpeted room with many windows facing the ocean. It became a perfect playroom.
(2) On many previous trips we had to eat in stages or at separate tables. Not here. The very comfortable dining room table ran parallel to the windows and deck and had space -and chairs - for everyone, including kids.
(3) In addition to the always available and helpful concierge, Helen, we were provided with easy-to-read instructions for everything we needed: wifi, which functioned flawlessly, laundry, dishwasher, etc. and a list of the locations of fans for every room, the remote control for the garage door and instructions for trash and recycling.
I do have one or two suggestions which, had they been in place would have increased my enjoyment of this extraordinary vacation home. For something less than $25.00 a month HBO or one of the other movie services would be appreciated. Also, when paying in the neighborhood of $500/night, after a day of traveling one arrives at Seaview Avenue ready to put your feet up and open a beer. The need to locate the sheets and towels and to make our beds was an unwelcome surprise. Rather, raise the rate $1.00/night and hire a local teen-anger to prepare the beds.
Stop looking at other properties and select this one before you lose the chance.

Great ocean view!
Great place to gather with family! We really enjoyed the ocean view and the close proximity to town. The house was a little outdated, (furnishings, kitchen, etc) but we had plenty of room for six people and you can't beat the view from this place - gorgeous!

Incredible location!
I could have stayed forever on the back deck of this house watching the waves against the rocks. The house had plenty of room, was very comfortable, and met all our needs. We were able to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views and breezes off the big water! The location was also very convenient both to Cape Porpoise and Kennebunkport for shopping trips and dinners out. We enjoyed kayaking on the Cape Porpoise causeway and boating/fishing from the Kennebunkport Marina. I highly recommend this house!

Perfect rental for the Kennebunkport area
My husband and I stayed at this property for two weeks in September. The house is a great location - you can walk into town easily. The view from the house to the ocean is perfect. Everything we needed was provided. We settled in easily, the house was very comfortable and we'll set up and we just enjoyed every moment. If we return to Kennebunkport we definitely will rent here again.

Great Honeymoon Destination!
We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was the perfect romantic getaway. It was our first trip to Maine and we highly recommend staying at this house to experience Kennebunkport and coastal Maine. The gorgeous view from the patio is worth the stay. It was just the two of us, so there was plenty of room. The house is clean, spacious and has everything you need to create a home away from home. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to town. There is a kitchen so you can cook your own meals from the incredible selection of local produce and seafood. If you do not feel like cooking, you are close to an array of great places to meat.

Go to sleep listening to the ocean!
This is a charming but spacious New England style cottage. Its not far from town, yet privately situated on a quiet cul de sac. The ocean views from almost every room are incredible. The pictures are a very real representation of the home and the gorgeous views. I loved walking down along the road in front of the Bush compound and by the beautiful church that has "outdoor seating"! I took more pictures than i can count. If you love the ocean, comfort, nature, incredible locally grown (and fished!) food--this is the place for your next relaxing vacation/visit.

Perfect location!
My husband and I stayed at the cottage last August and loved the location. It is on a secluded and quiet road but only a short distance from the bustling town of Kennebunkport. A beautiful rocky shoreline is just beyond the home's large deck, with a view of the Bush's compound just down the coast. A perfect location!
The home is very comfortable and family friendly. The large living area has ample windows to enjoy the view. We took advantage of the well equipped kitchen to cook lobster and fish that we bought from the local market and vegetables and fruit purchased from a local farmer's market--the blueberries were scrumptious! We also found excellent restaurants nearby, and we had fun exploring Kennebunkport and shopping in its eclectic mix of stores.
We enjoyed our stay very much, and recommend this home for anyone who wants to experience living like a local.

Million dollar view!
We stayed here in August and had an amazing visit. This house has an incredible view of the water and the coastline. Every morning was picture perfect as we sat out back on the deck and watched the birds and lobster boats while sipping coffee. We also enjoyed walking down to the water and checking out the tide pools. The house was very neat, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed, not to mention that almost every room has that gorgeous view. There's a living area on the main floor, but there's also a very large den upstairs which is a great place for kids or teens to hang out. We rented bikes and rode into town or to the nearby beaches every day. It's a good workout for a "flatlander" like myself, but it's not a difficult ride. You'll want to stop every few feet anyway because it's like riding through a postcard. Between the picturesque coastline, the charming homes, magnificent estates, and the gorgeous flowers, it's hard to know where to look! We found some great vegetable stands and fish markets and really enjoyed being able to go back to the house in the evening and cook fresh fish or lobster, and, of course, spend some more time sitting on that amazing deck. I can't wait to go back!
