This is a Capitol Hill Stay property. Capitol Hill Stay is a veteran-owned small business with 24 properties on Capitol Hill. We have been providing furnished lodging on Capitol Hill since 1996. We use excellent cleaners and pay them a living wage (they are best in DC if you ask me). And we have a professional full time property manager. If this property doesn't work for you or isn't available for the dates you need please reach out to us and let us know and we can see if we can find a property that does work for you. You can also swap from one of our properties to another as available if needed. Additionally you can see all of our Airbnb listings at our Airbnb host profile page.

Guests have total access. I'm more than happy to provide information on local attractions. We also provide a detailed Welcome Letter with relevant neighborhood information, plus an interactive map with neighborhood recommendations.
Capitol Hill is an outstanding neighborhood. It's historic, charming, and ideally located at the absolute geographic center of DC. Terrific safety, with the US Capitol police patrolling the area. Home to many politicians, media figures, etc.
Corner groceries, pharmacy, great diner and dry cleaners a two minute walk away.
Eastern Market (farmers market and baker/butcher etc) is a few blocks away. Amazing restaurants and lively bars within blocks! 400 block of East Capitol with two corner groceries, Capital Bikeshare, great diner, and pharmacy is 1/2 block away.
Whole Foods and several other supermarkets in the neighborhood.
Five blocks to metro orange/blue and red lines. Union Station train station is five blocks. Union Station is home to the major sightseeing tours. Capital Bikeshare kiosk is a couple minutes walk.
Uber and Lyft and cheap and very easy to get here.
DC Circulator metro rapid bus transit also very close by.
Charming place with tons of character. Great outdoor space. Perfect spot to explore DC from. Ideal neighborhood for longer term stays too.
Inquire about parking PRIOR to booking please. There is very little need to bring a vehicle, as there is great metro and bikeshare access, and rideshares are inexpensive and readily available. Most places you want to go to in DC won't have parking when you get there. 24/7 street parking near this property is possible with a street parking pass, which can be obtained from the DC DMV with a copy of a lease and vehicle information. It costs around $250 for a six month pass. Free street parking with no pass needed is free and open to all every night, all weekend, and two hours each weekday. We have about five offstreet parking spaces in the immediate area. We rent them from neighbors. IF a paid space is available they usually go for $300 a month. Union Station parking garage is five blocks away and can do monthly rentals including oversize vehicles for around $300 a month.
A word about rates:
Since every booking is different the rates listed are an approximation. Rates are based on length of stay, specific dates needed, amenities requested, etc. Bookings less than 91 days are subject to the DC lodging tax of 15.95%. SINCE EVERY INQUIRY IS DIFFERENT AND THE BIGGEST FACTOR IN PRICE IS THE SPECIFIC DATES CHOSEN AND LENGTH OF STAY RATES MAY BE HIGHER OR LOWER THAN WHAT IS POSTED. PLEASE INQUIRE SO WE CAN DISCUSS PRIOR TO SENDING A BOOKING REQUEST.
Fall and winter months are very high demand, moreso this year than ever before as this is the first year that many federal agencies and private employers are bringing people back to DC, and they are making up for lost productivity during Covid.
And of course it's a presidential election year.
Most furnished housing providers in DC will only take bookings for three months or longer during these months. We will do less, but the rates do go up. And generally we try to match an incoming booking with an apartment that is available within a week or so of the requested date. For instance if you are seeking a month rental beginning July 1 we would want to match your request with a property available in very late June or July 1. If the property you inquired about seems to have an availability date that may not match up then you can always check HERE see all properties and their available dates.
Our average booking is around four to six months. We are primarily a longer term lodging provider. We can do shorter, but in the furnished housing business rates go up for shorter stays.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

First time in this neighborhood and feel like we found a hidden gem! Loved the location and the place was perfect for our three days. Lots to do and see in DC and this place was close to the action but in a family friendly neighborhood so no loud parties and wild bar scene. Great walking and access to the mall and metro system. Apartment was spotless and met all our needs. Will definitely look to rent this again!

Excellent property. Perfect for a getaway
Excellent property. Lovely stay. Would book this again in a heartbeat. My wife and I enjoyed it immensely.

Everything we needed and more.
This property was absolutely perfect for this couple of visitors and a big dog. When we arrived, everything was spotless and inviting. We slept like logs, given both the bed and the pull-out sofa were super plush an comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed, so we made every meal in the apartment. A great cost-saving feature.
The location puts tourists less than a couple blocks from the Capitol and the National Mall beyond, and with a BikeShare rack situated so close, you can ride instead of walking. The BikeShare rack is next to a small market that, while pricey, has everything you need. Eastern Market is a walkable distance away and Whole Foods is a bike ride away, depnding upon how many groceries you need to buy. We parked and never moved our car for our entire stay.
This property felt like a real home away from home, is ideally situated and you’ll feel you’ve found a haven. It’s peaceful and the locks on the outside courtyard, the apartment, and just the location, itself, provide a measure of security that’s really wonderful in a large city locale.
I’m hoping to return and would recommend this property to anyone. Having stayed in other AirBnB and VRBO offerings, I can say without reservation that this is a really great place. Enjoy!!

This is a beautiful one-bedroom apartment on a very quiet street. It has all the conveniences of home--and with a better bed! But what sets this rental apart from so many others is its incredible location. It is literally a few blocks from the Capitol, Union Station, Eastern Market and several Metro lines. Multiple restaurants are also within a few minutes' walk. All the Smithsonian museums are accessible without any difficulty, whether walking or using the Connector bus.

This has been a difficult stay for me to review. While the location is outstanding and the unit is well appointed and maintained, it felt more hotel than VRBO. Very businesslike and not very homey and comfortable. Being awakened early in the morning by a gas powered leaf blower outside my bedroom window (it should not be that hard to coordinate yard work with guest stays) or, when in the bedroom hearing every footstep from the occupants above (which does confirm this is a 100 year old building) did not make the stay very restful. And the message is clear; stay here but don't get too comfortable. The kitchen at every VRBO I have ever stayed at (and there have been plenty) always has a cupboard of rotating spices and flavorings to encourage cooking. You use what is there, you add what is missing, and you leave the rest for the next guest. This kitchen did not even have any salt or pepper. There was one pouch of Costco coffee. And one soap pouch for the dishwasher. They do tell you this, but not until you receive your "Welcome" letter a few days before you arrive. Not when you book. So be prepared to go out and buy all of your essentials the minute you get there. For a week long stay, this either means an added expense or doing without. At least a hotel provides toiletries on a daily basis. And if you do leave anything for the next guest, the owners obviously remove it before you get there. The result is that you use the kitchen to keep cold beverages and snacks. You don't eat and you certainly don't do laundry. I have used basics left behind and contributed to this cycle for the next guest many times and was disappointed that this option is taken away here and most likely at all of the units run by this group. I respect they are running a business, but this was supposed to be Vacation Rental by Owner. That implies some comforts.

Great place, location & service
What a gem of a place! My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights: nice accommodations (simple, nothing over the top), incredible service and great location. 8 min walk to the Capitol. 10-15 min walk to Eastern Market. Really quiet courtyard in the middle of the apartments. We would definitely stay here again (and I'm super picky).

nice little unit
nice unit, very close to the heart of DC.works great for a couple, wouldn't want to have any more in the unit. Overall nice place, small bathroom, and a little hard to find initially, but if you are looking for a small place to get away, in the heart of DC, walking distance to the Capital and most other sights along the mall, this would be a great location. we will probably be back.

Wonderful Capital Hill stay in D.C.
What a wonderful property close enough to walk to the National Mall. Lovely residential historic neighborhood with nice brick sidewalks. We felt very safe walking in the area. This Home was beautifully furnished and we were very comfortable. We didn't have any complaints. It was such a great location! We would highly recommend this home for your next stay in DC!
4.8
The property was clean and super convenient to everything we wanted to do on the National Mall. The kitchen was very usable. Ideal for two and comfortable for four with the exception of not enough bedding for the sleeper sofa - there was no blanket.

Location couldn’t have been better for touring DC especially for the price. Well appointed house!

Great location and great space.
Stayed as a family of four. Enough space to stretch out and still cozy enough to share meals together. No complaints and that is a rare thing for me, lol.
Highly recommend if you are looking a great homebase to see all the sites DC has to offer.

Great Property Tucked Away Behind the Mall
This apartment was a wonderful place to stay on a work trip to D.C.The location right behind the Supreme Court provides easy access to the Mall for monuments/sightseeing as well as the H-street corridor/area north of the Mall for restaurants/bars. The apartment itself was well-kept, clean, and beautifully decorated/furnished. The owners were very friendly, professional, and communicative. Overall, I would recommend this location in a heartbeat to anyone staying in D.C.

Seamless and safe
Our check-in, stay and exit went smoothly and without any hitches. Brian was quick to respond and helpful with some of our logistics. It’s location on the Hill is close to the Capitol and we walked everywhere from there. The facility was quiet, always felt secure and the neighborhood safe. There are a couple other connected apartments but we neither saw nor heard any other tenants. We were there for a full week and all in all it was a good place to stay in DC that worked out well for us.

Great location, great little house
Just a short walk from the Capitol and close to public transportation, this was a perfect home base to explore DC. 3rd and A #3 is a sweet accommodation that's very comfortable and welcoming. Quiet and homey. Close to neighbourhood stores, too.
4.8
felt right at home!
communication before and during was great!
I was in town for a symposium and I'm usually looking to stay somewhere besides the hotel. This place was perfect for making me feel like I wasn't from out-of-town while I was there. It was a quick visit, only three nights, but I would definitely look at staying here again!!

Comfortable, well equipped on a quiet residential street
Apartment off the street with particularly good appliances: air conditioning, washing machine, etc. and outdoor patio settings. The Capital buildings, Library of Congress, Union Station, etc. are walking distance as well as some small markets.

Amazing location
We loved it! Beautiful and quiet area. Enjoyed walking to lots of different places. Renter was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Convenient, private, clean and perfect.
The apartment was a good size. The eat-in kitchen makes it plenty roomy when you have people in the bedroom and the living room pull out sofa. The location is wonderfully convenient to the National Mall and Metro stops to get anywhere in the city.

Our apartment was comfortable and located in a beautiful neighborhood.
We had a great time in DC on vacation. We were close enough to do a lot of sightseeing on foot; but Uber was never more than two minutes away when we wanted to go farther (or it was just too hot to walk).
The apartment had all the comforts of home, and an intimate gated courtyard that we shared with two other apartments. Not only was it pretty, but we enjoyed that little bit of interaction with other travelers.
We never encountered any problems that required reporting, but the property owner was very responsive to questions prior and during our stay. We would definitely rent from him again and recommend his properties to others!

Clean and convenient
Our family of four enjoyed our stay. Quiet location and we enjoyed breakfast on the patio each morning. The bathroom is cozy but worked out fine. The property managers were very responsive and quick when one of the appliances in our unit was acting up.

Fantastic apartment in the heart of D.C
This apartment was absolutely beautiful and within a close proximity to the Supreme Court, the Capitol, and the Smithsonian museums, not to mention dozens of restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the well kept appliances and furnishings adding a sleek and modern feel to the space. The additional amenities- a large T.V, cookware, and fresh linens- made the stay even more relaxing. The landlord was accessible and friendly, which made arranging the stay easy and pleasant. This is a great place to rent if you want a comfortable place to stay in the heart of D.C within walking distance of all of the exciting opportunities the city has to offer.
