We had so much fun at this beautiful cabin in the woods. The cabin had everything we needed. Everyone loved all the water toys on the lake, campfire, hiking, games, and hanging on the porch. Perfect family getaway. So relaxing!

My family (children ages 19, 14 &11) & our two dogs, had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Blackberry Lodge. Booking, check-in & check-out were simple. The host, Andrew, was very responsive & friendly. The location of the lodge is beautiful, surrounded by trees & nature. We saw deer, various birds, & squirrels right from the deck. The lodge itself was beautiful, cozy & clean & had everything we needed plus more. The lake is a short walk through the trees, on natural trails. The water of the lake is clear & you can walk out for quite a distance before it gets deep. The whole family was able to explore the lake with the available kayaks, canoe, paddle board & paddleboat. We fished (catch & release), spotted turtles, swam. We explored the stream. The kids enjoyed the hut with foosball & darts. The dogs were able to swim, run on the trails, lounge on the beach & the dock. It was rainy off & on during our stay but we still very much enjoyed just relaxing. We didn’t turn the TV on our entire stay (4 nights)! We visited a couple different towns close by (Wautoma & Red Granite) for coffee, dinner one night & ice cream. Everyone had a great time. We did not want to leave & we will be back! *Note for those clean freaks…You will get sand on/in things. As long as we dried the dogs off & wiped our feet good before going into the lodge, we didn’t have much sand inside. Also, sand on the beach & in the lake is more of a mixture of sand & mud…it’s a lake, not the ocean.

Cabin was very clean and modern, while keeping the log cabin feel. Owners have thought of everything, with little touches all over the place (seating by creek on trails, buckets to carry wood, life jackets for the boats, etc.). Offering the wood for purchase (honor system) was also a great perk. We caught many fish at the lake, saw all kinds of interesting animals (giant turtle, woodpeckers, owl). Truly a wonderful place!

Beautiful log cabin set on 7 acres of wooded property. Pet friendly, several trails with soft landscape lighting for night walks, wood sauna steps from cabin, beautiful wrap around deck, new large grill, plenty of wood in wood shed for fire pit along with a wagon to load and carry wood, several watercraft available with easy access, peaceful and quiet, only a 6 minute drive to Mt. Mount Morris Mill coffee shop for coffee. The stream can be heard from the cabin deck, cornhole just outside of the cabin, family and card games available, plenty of outdoor lighting available, several planters throughout property filled with flowers. Fun little extra cabin next to fire pit with foosball, a mini-bar, and its own screened in porch with chairs. Comfortable seating by corn hole, fire pit, and on deck, as well as benches along side the trails and stream. Plenty of towels and extra blankets if needed. Bonus to have a clear view from the lake of the Northern Lights! Andrew was the perfect host, providing every detail prior to check in, confirming we checked in ok, and prompt follow up to all communication. Highly recommend!

My husband and I, plus my parent's, two kiddos, and two pups all spent a long weekend at Andrew's cabin. Everything about this place was exactly what we were looking for. As mentioned, it sits on seven acres with plenty of areas to explore. We spent a lot of mornings out on the paddle boats with the kids and pups. The water was obviously a little too cold for us humans, but that didn't stop the pups from taking a dip. The cabin itself is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need including free popcorn! The host also left us blackberry jam, blackberry chocolates, and blackberry flavored water. DELICIOUS! We loved enjoying the fire pit and the game room. Although the cabin feels very remote, the town of Wautoma and nearby smaller towns have plenty to do. Lots of wineries, breweries and eating establishments. We'd love to return to this place when the weather is nice and we can do more swimming. Crystal clear water and shallow enough for our kids to enjoy. Obviously, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a weekend getaway- especially if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle.

My family really enjoyed the peace and tranquility. They also enjoyed watching the wild life.
The lake if very low and did not see any fish. If staying the in area and plan to fish, you may want to fish on one of the larger lakes in the area. There is an abundance of lakes in the area.

Had a lovely time in the knotty pine cabin with lovely windows overlooking airy pines. Great porch and porch furniture for napping in the sun. Enjoyed the game cabin too. What a bonus!!!

What a delightful stay! Our group vacationed at this wonderful property to celebrate a 50th birthday. We had the BEST time. From taking walks on the incredible property, to relaxing in the sauna after a long, beautiful day, you cannot go wrong! It was a sweet relief from hectic busy days. Also, on a more practical note, the beds are comfortable and the owner is very responsive. Zero complaints!!!

I'll echo what others have said. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin is very nice and very well stocked. The surroundings are great and dogs as well as humans had fun exploring. And we definitely took advantage of having access to the lake, canoe, kayaks. Andrew was a fine host--on the ball with instructions and checking that we got in OK, etc. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful property and log cabin. Great location for a weekend away from home for our family of 5 with 3 elementary school aged kids and the dog as well. Cabin felt very tucked away and secluded in nature with no signs of any neighbors from the cabin, yet only a 10 minute drive to town with easy access to groceries or restaurants if desired. The wooded property had a beautiful autumnal appearance and we took advantage of the kayaks and paddleboats, but we'd love to come back in the summer to actually go for a swim in the shallow, clear lake. The place was definitely as described and as pictured. We had no issues throughout our stay, however, I can say that the host Andrew was great with communication quickly responding to texts as we prepared for the stay and welcoming us/checking in once we arrived. Overall the trip was just what we needed and we would definitely return!

We were looking for a secludeded cabin by a lake that allowed dogs. This was it. A sweet cozy log cabin, a stream, a lake and lots of trails. Foosball and darts on rainy days, and a large covered porch with a comfy couch was perfect. Solidly built cabin, nicely decorated with quality furnishings. It was nice to have access to the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat too.

We hated to leave! It is paradise, Lake, stream, lighted trails, bar, no reason to leave. We made memories that will last forever!!! We will be back in the summer!

Hello - it was wonderful. Everything was so organized and stocked in the cabin. Lake is perfect for small children and/or pets. It has a sandy bottom that is very shallow for quite a while before you get into deeper water. Perfect!

We had the most amazing time during our stay at this oasis in the woods. The owner of the property has truly thought of every detail. The house was stunning and we spent much time sitting out on the wrap around porch drinking our coffee in the mornings and down at the lake fishing, utilizing the kayaks, paddle boards, and other water craft and watching the kids play in the sand. We loved how the water was relatively shallow for quite a ways out before getting deeper. This was perfect for our young children and for the dogs. We would highly recommend this beautiful cabin for your family vacations. We will definitely be back again!

The property is beautiful, it’s nestled in the woods, as you drive in you go over a stream. We enjoyed having our morning coffee or an evening drink on the covered deck listening to the birds and wildlife. The walk to the lake was a little difficult for a few of the people but they are seniors and have problems walking anyways but they made it and enjoyed the lake. The cabin has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Andrew the host is very nice and accommodating. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We really enjoyed the seclusion of the property, the swimming and the cleanliness of the lake, and the huge deck. Perfect for pet owners and families as both our dog and kids loved the time.

We had such a wonderful stay at Blackberry Lodge, despite the weather being less than ideal during our stay (let’s just say, the fireplace was used and appreciated)! The property was gorgeous with an endless amount of things to do and explore- we didn’t even get to it all. My husband and I came here with our almost 3 year old and could absolutely see us returning as a family again, with another family, or even with a group of friends. We really enjoyed exploring the creek, swimming at the beach (water depth was perfect for our little guy), and appreciated the free use of the kayaks, paddle boat, and other equipment. The owners truly have thought of EVERYTHING and provide many things they don’t have to, which is incredibly generous. Our only recommendation would be to add shades or curtains in the main living space (all bedrooms are equipped with shades/curtains). Though we knew we were safe, we felt a little creeped at night without the ability to fully shut ourselves in, but maybe that’s just us. ABSOLUTELY would return again, highly recommend!

The lodge is beautiful, really better than expected. Andrew is a great host. He checked in at the beginning of our stay to make sure we were comfortable. He even gave us directions to the best fishing spot on the lake! I can’t wait to come back next year. The property is expansive, lots to see and do! We loved it.

We stayed here for 3 nights over new years. Property was very clean and communication with owner was excellent. Very close proximity to Wautoma and Nordic mountain for skiing. Property had everything we needed. Beautifully set into the woods and a short hike to the lake. The game room / bar area is a very cool little area. Would definitely recommend staying here!!!

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful stream, peaceful lake! Lots of outdoor space to spread out if with a larger group. We had a very pleasant experience and really valued being able to bring our dogs.

This was, quite simply, the perfect retreat for us and our dogs! Seven wooded acreas that felt incredibly private, an Amish log cabin with all of the amenities, and a short walk on the property to the gorgeous, quiet lake where we swam and watched the sun set. Just a few minutes into town for restaurants or groceries (or supplies for S'Mores!). Andrew was a great host - everything was in good condition and ready for our arrival and he checked in with us to make sure any questions we had were answered. We can't wait to make this an annual (maybe semi-annual!) getaway!

The house is clean and well furnished. There were many boats- canoe, paddle boarding, paddle boats, kayaks that we enjoyed using. The pond is not very big, and shallow in most parts- which was perfect for the kids to explore safely. Only a few other houses on tbe lake/pond. Had the place to ourselves all weekend.
Andrew is great. Checked in with us throughout the weekend. The grounds were “like a movie” as my middle schooler put it. We walked without shoes all weekend because the paths were brushed clean.
Close to town and great restaurants- KRB is great with live music on Saturdays.
Wonderful home, property and owners. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

So much care was taken into the design of the house and the property, and the owner has taken so much care to make one's stay just perfect. You've got everything you might need-from dry wood to zip lock bags for your food! The private beach with 3 kinds of boats and a dock and raft to swim to is pure summer heaven. Sunsets, stargazing, campfires - all spectacular.

Family had a great stay. Kids loved the lake. Lots of things to do in the area as well.

Our family of four loved our stay at the Blackberry Lodge! The property is very private and peaceful. The lodge itself is very beautiful, clean and stocked with many of the things you might need for cooking etc. There are a lot of things to do and places to explore. The kids loved walking the trails and going to the crystal clear stream to look for frogs. The lake is clear and beautiful as well. We spent a lot of time swimming, kayaking and fishing from the swimming raft. It was great fishing with our younger kids because there were a lot of pan fish biting. We even saw a giant snapping turtle while fishing. Another highlight for the kids was the hut. They loved playing foosball and darts and we had a couple campfires as well. The owner is very good with communication and checked in with us after arrival to make sure all was good. We had no issues during out stay but I'm confident that if we had he would be very helpful and responsive. We highly recommend Blackberry Lodge and hope to make our way back for another great family vacation!

Wautoma Get-Away
Always enjoy getting to know a community new to us. This is such a beautiful part of the state with the rolling terrain and clear lakes. The Blackberry Lodge is nicely isolated with a long, meandering driveway that takes you over a creek that's fun to wade in followed by the Blackberry Hut. This little building was a nice surprise. Its location provided some extra sleeping quarters and also was home-base for an evening of campfire stories with the adjacent firepit. The hike to the lake seemed like a lot to take on at first, but it really grew on us. The twists and turns became familiar and soon became part of the whole experience. That small, quiet lake was just what we needed. You're going to like this place.

Blackberry Lodge had everything we needed for an enjoyable relaxing week. Our three grandson's enjoyed swimming and turtle hunting in the pedal boat and kayaks. The fire pit was great for relaxing evenings.
We loved all the wildlife in the woods. So many birds, squirrels, deer and even a wild turkey came to visit.
Andrew was a great host and very responsive to any of our questions.

We had an amazing week! We spent most of it at and on the lake with all there was to do (paddleboats, kayaks, paddleboard, dock) where we swam, fished, and boated! We also slept a lot (on the porch and in hammocks), ate alot (cooked most of our meals there), and played many cornhole games. We made plenty of fires and had s’mores, played in the hut, walked the trails both night and day, and gazed at the stars at the lake! We also ventured into town for ice cream and pizza at Christiania’s-fantastic! We loved it so much we are booking this amazing home again! Thanks Andrew for checking on us and working with us
