About this cottage rental
PERFECT for city escapes, golf parties, art groups! QUIET!
Just two hours from Atlanta, Ga., high in the clouds of the highest city in northeast Georgia, this cottage is absolutely breath-taking in the spring - rhododendron everywhere! The cottage is just four miles from Dillard, Ga. and 10 miles from Highlands, NC.
There are two living levels (top level kitchen), two wood burning fireplaces, large veranda and wrap around porches on both levels with private entries at each level.
From each deck area you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views! The cottage has three private bedrooms, with the downstairs housing one queen bedroom and bath, twin beds in 'dormitory' style, a futon, TV, and living room area.

Less than two miles from the cottage is a lovely waterfall, unknown to most outsiders. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy Sky Valley's public 18 hole golf course.
Guests may enjoy activities including the community pool and work out room during the summer. There is pond fishing, hikes, arts and crafts festivals, boutique shopping in Highlands, NC, hiking, snow tubing, fishing, boating at both Lake Rabun and Lake Burton.
Guests will never tire of the flea markets and festivals which occur regularly each weekend during the summer and fall.
This is a perfect escape for more than one family in their own private area or for a family wishing to have a reunion, a perfect home base for plein air artists, and for small golf groups.

We just went for a quick three night stay and the location is great at Sky Valley Resort. The house however has not been refreshed in 20+ years and that may be generous. The king bed doesn’t have box springs, the TVs are small and the overall furnishings are simply very dated. The upstairs hall bathroom had dead insects in them and the shower head desperately needed cleaning so we couldn’t use that bathroom.
The deck is great. Roomy and relaxing.
Some of the outside flood lights are not worming and when I went to Change one it simply disintegrated in my hand. The dog run is a nice feature but I had to do some repair to keep dogs from simply getting out in the loose areas.
It could be a great house but needs some TLC and routine cleaning and updating.
We enjoyed getting away but 3 days was about max for us at this location.

Our stay in Sky Valley was great. Beautiful view, quiet, and relaxing.
Some of our highlights included Julip Farms and the Blue Hound BBQ.

The house has great views and is spacious. Close to the Dillard house, horse back riding, snow tubing, ice skating and the screamer. We had a great time.

There are so many things to do in the area that we didn't do staying in the house justice. It was comfortable and met all our needs though. The fireplace was awesome!

I had been planning this trip for months and was so excited to have all my family under one roof for Thanksgiving. I had even talk with you about all my plans for Dinner at the D
Illard House. We all arrived at the cabin around 4 to 4:30. We got settled and my daughter in law was preparing dinner. I want feeling well And decided to get a bath lay down .. Durring the night I got worst extreme abdominal pain. Thursday morning they ambulance carried me too Gainesville med. I had any intestinal obstructions and was moved to Emory. Just released today 12/2... We told the kids to stay at the cabin . it was paid for and the meal at Dillard House. They told me how much they loved it bit missed us so much. You have a beautiful cabin and wish I could have enjoyed it. We will have to try again one day. I have some recovery to work on.

We loved the view, the house and most everything about this place. It was modern and beautiful. The view was magnificent and it was close enough to Dillard and other places to spend time in the area daily enjoying local sites. The only issue was that the furniture was uncomfortable because even though I am 5 ft. tall. The couches were short and low and there were two small rockers. Furniture was not for people to relax after a long day.

Large Family Hideaway
We loved our stay! Our family didn’t know how much we needed to disconnect from the world until we got to the top of that mountain. Clean, full of light, and ready to make memories.

Great mountain getaway for 8 night stay.
This house was as described. It met all of our requirements. CLEAN! Great location! Quiet! The location was great…in the mountains but not so high up that it was scary driving. Kitchen was fully equipped including basic cooking spices, oil, etc. There is plenty of places to sit and relax and nice furnishings on the covered porch. With the separate room downstairs we could get some space if needed. My 9 year old grandson loved the fact that he had the whole space to himself at night. The TVs are small but we only turned them on twice..to watch a movie and no one cared. Bonus was plenty of lighting so if you are a reader there are plenty of lights to read by…something that most rentals are lacking. All in all a great stay. Donna, the owner, is very responsive to questions and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. ( she mentions the driveway is steep..we did take her advise and went a little further up and turned around..glad in our SUV and not a Camry. :) ).

Just as described
The house and amenities are just as described. Plenty of room for hosting (extended) family dinner. The balcony with ample seating and beautiful view was our favorite place first thing in the morning and every evening as the sun set!

Two night winter getaway
We had a lovely two night getaway at this home in the mountains. It was more than large enough for our family of 4 and we were impressed at how well stocked it was with little extras (aluminum foil, spices, etc.). There was even a washer dryer and detergent to use to wash ski pants after a day of snow tubing. The view and sound of the waterfall from the beautiful new covered deck was spectacular. We would love to come back and enjoy it in warmer weather!

secluded mountain getaway
The property was exactly as advertised. Plenty of room for adults and children. GPS doesn't work to the property, but the driving directions in the check-in instructions work well.

The waterfall was undersold
Rented this home to hangout with a military friend and his family. Due to Corona, a lot of our planned activities were canceled but we did find the waterfall at Sky Valley and for three rest of the trip my buddy complained that the waterfall was undersold. He didn't expect it to be so nice. The cabin was excellent and the pics didn't do it justice. We appreciated the very affordable price and hope to make this trip again.

Good base camp for trip
It's off the beaten path a little, but within 20 mins or so, you're able tok be in the little town. 45 mins or more to other attractions like state park hiking, boating, etc. You'll need to park your boat somewhere else, but we did have a waverunner with us and towed it up and down from cottage to Moccasin Creek state park for riding.

Great Family Vacation Spot.
The House was everything we were looking for clean, spacious, great view, and location. Downstairs was great for our young family members to play around. Will be booking again as soon as we can.

Nice
We had a very easy check in upon arrival. We went around checking everything out and made our way to the basement. There was quite a musty smell (especially downstairs) and I killed three yellow jackets at the sliding glass door downstairs. Our kids were using the space so there was a little concern. We were happy with the space and rooms were ample size. Communication with the property manager was very easy and she responded quickly. There was someone that we were told would drop off some spray for us to use and it was. I was disappointed that the “king” bed was not a true king. It was 2 twins put together and was not comfortable. None of the beds were comfortable. Our friends that went with us were somewhat unhappy with the tv’s because they were so small, but they did work and had good channels. I was happy that it was well stocked with plenty of pots, pans, bowls, and utensils. We were ok with it overall, but probably would not rent there again.

As Advertised
House was very clean and kitchen well-stocked. Easy to access via driveway with good parking. We encountered one problem upon arrival: cable TV not functioning, but quick response by the helpful property manager (Luke) solved the issue within the hour. On the subject of TV, we recommend that the owners upgrade to larger and newer flat-screen smart devices!! In particular the downstairs TV is a relic that reminded us of ones that we grew up watching decades ago! But we never used the downstairs of this spacious home so that really wasn't a detraction from uu enjoying our visit. We will certainly consider returning to this house in the future.

Honest review!
The property was not clean upon our arrival. There were cobwebs and spiders all over the cottage. We had to vacuum and clean before we could bring our things in. Cobwebs were on and under the furniture. The bathrooms had spiders and bugs in the showers. We chose not to clean the downstairs bath and did not use because of the bugs. The home did not appear to have been cleaned or opened up for many months. It also had a very musty smell as well.
The porch was nice and there was plenty of seating. You can hear the falls and the view of stars each night was beautiful. The cottage was conveniently located.
I notified the owner and she said she would let the managing company know of the condition we found it.

Trip to the polar express with our grandchildren
Very spacious for our large family. The bunk room was a great space for our grandchildren. They loved it! The house is very well equipped with everything you need! The view is beautiful!! The owner was very helpful and so accommodating! There isn't anything you need to bring with you just pack your bags and go. We've been coning to the mountains 3 years now for the polar express. This is my family's favorite
place to stay so far. Thank you so much Donna

Perfect in Every Way!
Pictures do not do this home justice! Very impressed upon arrival. Loved the wrap around porches. We had a great time. Plenty of space for everyone. Stocked with basic needs....even some coffee. Beautiful area and views. The driveway was no problem for any of our vehicles. Loading and unloading was on flat surface. Loved the large family room downstairs. If I had to find a negative, it would only be that we didn't stay longer. Thank you Donna for making it so easy and especially for sharing your Sky Valley house with us.
