This wonderful custom designed/built contemporary Pueblo Revival adobe home has soaring 12-14' foot viga ceilings on the main floor with floor to ceiling glass walls with views of the chamisa arroyo garden and the mountains to the north and west.
Our home is decorated with new and antique furnishings, Southwestern and Native American art, antique Japanese and African furnishings with antique Navajo rugs throughout. The main floor is finished with the traditional silky hand-troweled, diamond plaster walls, 10 skylights and wide-plank, hand-scraped antique floors. The exteriors of the main house and casita were completely re~stuccoed in 2015. The entire property has been exceptionally well maintained and is dramatically landscaped with aspen, blue spruce, pine, honey locust and apple trees.
The main floor consists of the entry with powder room, the great room, a huge master suite, dining room, adjacent kitchen,, a breakfast nook, and an office/library. The great room and the master suite open to the L-shaped balcony which wraps the back of the house and overlooks a lovely high desert garden. A curved staircase leads to the three downstairs bedrooms and the laundry.
Warm yourself by one of the fireplaces in the living or dining room on chilly Santa Fe nights. Enjoy the gourmet-equipped kitchen, a dining table seating ten which was handcrafted by the original owner/designer and a matching handmade center island table in the kitchen. Counter-tops are granite and slate.
The master bedroom is quite grand by Santa Fe Historic District standards and has 12' ceilings and two walls of windows, and a glass door opening onto the balcony. There is a king bed, a walk-in closet and a second closet for additional space. The en suite bath has a dressing vanity, enclosed shower and a Jacuzzi tub with a separate, private WC.
Downstairs are three bedrooms, one kin with queen beds. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack and Jill shower. Each sharing bedroom has a water closet, lavatory and vanity and the two bedrooms share the single shower. Each has ample closets and storage in the banco seating. The larger downstairs bedroom has a private entrance which opens onto its own patio. The other has a small, private cactus/dinosaur garden outside its window.
The third downstairs bedroom has a private entrance, a shower/tub and a Pullman style kitchenette with sink, two-burner range and under-counter refrigerator. This room would be perfect for a family traveling with an Au Pair or companion/aide. It performs well as a third guest bedroom.
Each bed has new down and down alternative pillows and Comphy brand luxurious spa linens. The pillows and mattresses are encased in hypoallergenic covers.
The main floor has central air and heat with radiant heating in the floors throughout. Each bedroom on the guest floor has its own thermostat and baseboard heating, and each bedroom has a ceiling fan. They are cooled by AC.

The fully-equipped kitchen is roomy and light-filled with natural wood finishes. The kitchen leads to a ramada-shaded outdoor dining area and our extensive garden areas. There is a full-size washer/dryer in the utility area.
We use perfume-free and dye-free Seventh Generation and Mrs. Meyers cleaning products throughout the house, the mattresses and pillows are encased in hypo-allergenic zipping covers, we use only organic products in our landscaping and engage a organic pest control company for regular, preventive treatments in our house and gardens.

We had four couples and we cooked, relaxed, walked everywhere and had a wonderful time. The home is beautifully equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, grill and wonderful furnishings and art. We have sort of adopted this home as our home away from home. The multiple patios are just gorgeous. Ed is so responsive and kind.

"Historic Eastside" is superb. The descriptions and photos are spot on. Four couples had a tremendous stay...plenty of room to spread out and gather when we wanted. The weather cooperated with a great snow dump for skiing....we are already planning to return in a different season to avail ourselves of the beautiful outdoor settings.....both the local managers and the owners were quick to respond to any questions or instructions. Hope to enjoy this great home again.

My wife and I have been visiting the Santa Fe area for more than 30 years and, without question, of all the lovely properties we've stayed in, this is by far the most stunning. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a beautiful bouquet just inside the doorway and two chilled bottles of Gruet bubbly in the fridge! But, stepping further inside, we were in awe at the art work, furnishings, and absolutely gorgeous outdoor property and amenities. We've previously stayed in Ed and Marilyn's smaller casita just down the street and have admired their wonderfully displayed art pieces there, but here in Casa Grande the presentation and quality of pieces are equal to any of the galleries in Santa Fe. Needless to say, we immediately fell in love with this property. It is absolute perfection and serenity and these sentiments were shared by the three other members of our party who arrived a few days later. There is nothing a guest could want or need that is not provided. We're just back at our home for a couple of days, but are already checking our calendars for a return visit to what we now consider our other "home" in Santa Fe. Many thanks, Ed and Marilyn. Best to you both, Charlie and Ann H.

This was a perfect getaway for four sisters celebrating a special birthday! It is both spacious and private with numerous sitting areas, 4 separate bedrooms and bathrooms, and hidden treasures everywhere you looked. The gourmet kitchen was well-stocked beyond the necessities needed. Ed and Marilyn also left us a bottle of champagne to aid in our celebration and were always available along with their Property Manager, Pam, to answer any questions and offer trip and restaurant advice. The multi-level outdoor gardens and sitting areas are perfect for meals, unwinding, and private time. It is within walking distance to the Santa Fe Plaza as well as a local grocery store and shops. We spent our days exploring and hiking, but returned every evening to this beautiful home to laugh and relax together. Thank you all for a memorable stay. Lori Elway and Sisters

Magical spot for gathering of old friends
Our group thoroughly enjoyed both indoor and outdoor spaces that this wonderful house provides. As ex museum curators, we felt very lucky to be able to live in a place with such special and thoughtful art and furnishings. Location was super, too!

Great location--close to everything!
Loved our visit. My only criticism is that the downstairs does not have AC as listed in the description. Santa Fe does get warm, and the house was stuffy downstairs when we arrived. But overall, a great place and location to stay.

Perfect Santa Fe get away
Eight of us, one large family spent Christmas week at this lovely home. First off, the house is far better than the pictures and has everything you might need for an extended stay. It's large enough that we all had privacy and the internet is good enough that the kids were able to work while there. Although we didn't have a chance to use the back patio it is also set up for spending evenings outside. We have lived in Santa Fe in the past, and we were familiar with the location, and the ease of walking to Downtown Subscription for coffee or Canyon Road just to hang out. We walked from the house on Christmas eve to see the farolitos, which proved very convenient, we walked downtown on several occasions and just walked the nearby streets. The kitchen is completely stocked, and our foodie crew managed to use just about every pot and pan. The owners were kind enough to forward us a list of recommended Santa Fe restaurants and we managed to try most. The only piece of advice is bring slippers or indoor shoes. We took our shoes off at the doorway so we wouldn't track mud in and discovered the composite floor, although very pretty, shreds socks and leaves splinters. I still have several in my feet. Having said that I would return in a heart beat. Great place!!

Santa Fe stay
We had a fantastic stay at Casa Grande. We really appreciated that there was plenty of room for having dinner for large groups, as several family members congregated in Santa Fe for a birthday. Wonderful place for finally getting together during this pandemic! Thanks for such a wonderful place.

We had a lovely time staying on the property. There were 4 of us and we each had our own bedroom and bath. Two of us shared a jack and jill shower arrangement, but the nice thing was that we both had our own dressing area with toilet. The property has 3 patio areas and wonderful art both in the house and outside on the property grounds. Wifi is available; however, the downstairs signal is weak, so we did our "surfing" upstairs. The owners were very responsive and provided lots of tips for restaurants and activities prior to our arrival which were valuable in planning our itinerary. We look forward to our trip next year and hopeful that the COVID restrictions will be in the rearview mirror.

Case Grande was very comfortable and spacious for our group of 8 adults with several common areas on both levels, a wraparound deck, and outdoor patios. The house is very nicely furnished and the kitchen was very well provisioned. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Santa Fe with family or friends who wants an upscale place to stay close to downtown.
