We stayed here to take our kids (5 & 2.5) to the santa train and the location was perfect - a 5 minute drive. The house was great and clean, bigger beds were comfortable, twin trundle wasn’t (but our kids didn’t care)!
Our only feedback for hosts would be:
More kid friendly items (baby gate for stairs, kids dishes & utensils, stool for sinks) and a heat source for the TV room (it was cold!)

Good location (~10 blocks from downtown) and hot tub a big bonus. But the house feels tired. And most important, was not clean.

We rented this house for new years and had a great time. Easy to walk home from the saloon, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the entertainment room and hot tub! Perfect little getaway!

Lovely home in a great location. Tons of room for our family of four but the layout (many smallish rooms that give everyone their own space, very typical of a 1900s vintage home) would easily accommodate a larger group. Nicely updated and decorated, with plenty of amenities (soap/shampoo, towels, paper products, etc). Cookware is old (typical rental) but fine; appliances are high end, various ages, all work well. We were there over Thanksgiving so had brought along the special items we knew we would need. Plenty of tableware. Great communication well in advance of arrival so easy to find, park, and check in/enter home. Walking distance to downtown and many restaurants and a short drive to Safeway. Our first visit to Hood River and we had such a great time.

Hood River is a beautiful town. The location of this house is amazing! The downtown area is awesome and this is house is within walking distance.
The house was perfect for us. The three bedrooms are all upstairs, for those that wanted to go to bed early.
The dining room was large enough for all 6 of us to eat or play games. The living rooms were comfy and spacious for when we wanted to spread out and chill.
It rained the whole weekend so we didn't spend anytime outside, but the deck area is pretty spacious.
This house is older, so the inside stairs creak. Getting into the house there is 3 or 4 uneven stairs without a rail. That wasn't a concern for us, just FYI
This house was great and I would definitely stay here again.

5 mom friends had a much-needed getaway in this lovingly restored home. We had to do some reconfiguring to all be able to sit comfortably in one room. A few more soft chairs or ottomans would be nice for groups.

Perfect little cottage
This was the perfect little cottage. Walkable, charming, and catered to all of our needs.

Easy walk to downtown
Property was comfortable, and had a good portion of the amenities we were looking for. Price was high for mid week days where most of the town was shut down.

Convenient
Convenient location. Appreciated the hot tub & grill

Family Vacay/ Wedding
This home worked out perfectly for our family vacay/ wedding. Plenty of space to spread out & lots of privacy in the backyard. Our adult kids especially enjoyed the hot tub while the littles enjoyed the parks. We walked to town more than once for coffees & ice cream. Breweries were everywhere and watching the wind surfers was a special treat! Beautiful area. Highly recommend!

Great location, cute house, could benefit from updating.
Our extended family of eight enjoyed Thanksgiving weekend at this house- loved the location, loved the hot tub, appreciated the space. We did find that overall the kitchen area could use a bit of TLC. We bring our own equipment for cooking and I would not expect a rental to have the things we need for a big dinner, but the appliances in the kitchen with the exception of a new refrigerator/freezer showed their age and could use replacement. The bathrooms were well appointed and beds comfortable- lots of openable windows so light and fresh air were plentiful. Loved the variety of games and puzzles; we had a great time playing board games and we watched "The Shining" Thanksgiving night in the cozy backroom- kids and all cuddled up with the abundance of quilts, comforters, and pillows the house provided, watching a scary movie. We took advantage of the proximity to downtown to do some family walks, admiring the houses and yards in this pretty area. We drove over to the Washington side and enjoyed the 'fruit loop' area, stopping here and there for cider and other local products. We would have done some hikes but the day after Thanksgiving was pouring so we limited our time to scenic views then stopping at Backwoods Brewery in Carson for libation and lunch. Overall we had a great family time in a great location. We all commented how nice this house would be in summer with the porch, the view and the back deck and tub and nearness to various activities Hood River has to offer.

Beautiful house, walking distance to everything!
The house is very well kept, charming and perfect for a family or moderately sized group. The back patio is absolutely beautiful and feels like a small secrete garden. We were able to walk down town (with our 3 small children) easily. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Hood River.

perfect family get away
Stayed in this beautiful, well maintained house for several days in August 2018. The home is spotless and has so much charm. Sleeps 11 comfortably. Great location walking distance from the downtown area and great bars/restaurants.
Karen was so thorough with instructions and there to help when we had any questions.
I highly recommend this property and owner to anyone.

The house was lovely and had everything we needed.
We had a great time during our stay. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable for a larger group. Would definitely stay here again. The location is great as well -- just a short walk to town and great views of the river.
Thanks for having us!

Loved this place!!
This place was perfect for our family as well as another mom and her two daughters. Beds for everyone and great layout for common areas. We loved walking into town for dinners. The girls loved the board games and hot tub! Parents loved sitting on the deck enjoying the peacefulness of it all!

Great stay in Hood River
Our group of 8 adults had a great stay at this property. There was plenty of sleeping space (we had 2 couples and 4 singles), we even had room to spare. The location is great - only about a 10-15 minute walk to town. Enough parking space for 3 cars. The house was clean and really cute! Would recommend!

Great Stay!
Was in town for a quick getaway with some girlfriends & we enjoyed staying here! It’s close to town, was clean and we enjoyed the hot tub! The owner was very pleasant to deal with and I’d highly recommend this house!

Fantastic.
A wonderful house in a wonderful location. I would definitely stay here again.

Great house, great location, great town, great owner
The house was well stocked, warm when we arrived on a very cold night, jacuzzi was hot and easy to operate. Owner Karen was very accommodating and easy to reach. Perfect for us!
4.7
Great Spot for Some Good Family Time
This was a well-located and cozy home for some pre-Thanksgiving family time. The kitchen was more than adequate and the 3 small, separate living rooms downstairs gave everyone some space. Our only negative was the absence of any closet space. We could walk to everything in town and enjoyed some chilly hikes and warming lattes. The antique air and auto museum was also well worth visiting....kids loved it!

Lovely home near downtown Hood River, OR
We stayed two nights at this property. There were eight of us--6 adults and 2 children. The home has lots of room for people to spread out and have multiple activities going on simultaneously. The walk to downtown takes about 10-15 minutes. Parking is good. One car can park in front of the garage and one or two more by the picket fence. The home has pretty much everything you need: plenty of towels including dish towels, plenty of dishes, silverware, cookware, a great new refrigerator, a washer and dryer, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again should we come back to Hood River.
4.7
Great owners!
The owners were great to work with when there was a little issue with the house when we first got there. The house was nice and cozy and we had a great time.
4.7
Great location...a little extra would be nice
Karen, the contact person was amazing. Very responsive and very helpful in all aspects.
Finding the house and accessing the home was a breeze.
The location was fantastic as we walked to town daily and it was simple even with 4 kids in tow.
The front porch was amazing as well as the fenced in yard for the kids to play in!
Unlike some of the other reviews I found adequate amounts of toilet paper and tons of seasonings and things to use in the kitchen was great to have.
Things that could have been better include...
The home itself was seemed a little dirty overall.
The 2 soap dispensers in the bathrooms, were both super old. The one upstairs didn't even work and the soap downstairs was just water with a bit of soap added. It seemed like there was soap available but it wasn't refilled properly? It sounds silly to complain about but it is also like a 3 dollar fix too to make it seem nice.
Some of the towels were very dated and worn.
The blankets for lounging on the couch were dated too. I only found 1 good one to use, which was hard with 4 kids.
All of the games were in scattered pieces and it was a miracle if you could find them all....the game area was a disaster before we even arrived.
Chairs on the back deck would have been nice too, for those who didn't want to hot tub but wanted to hang out.
Overall we really enjoyed the stay and the house. It just seemed like a few small things would take it over the top and really seem worth the money spent.

Good central base for weekend in HR
Cute house with plenty of room for everyone. Easy access. Enough room out front to park 2 cars on street. Bring your own soap/shampoo! Hot tub is sweet!

Great location
Cute home walking distance to town. Everything worked well. Bring your own shampoo/soap & extra TP.!

Karen's home is charming, and can accommodate a large party of guests. It's very close to downtown Hood River. The kitchen is particularly well kept and full of everything one needs to make a meal. Would definitely return. The only issue is parking is limited.
4.7
We loved the house and it fit our needs perfectly.
4.7
Good location with plenty of space and a family friendly atmosphere. The hot tub is a welcome retreat at the end of a long day. We appreciated the suggestions provided for food and hikes. The Tamanawas Falls hike was one of the highlights of our trip.
4.7
House is great - has lots of beds, two full bathrooms and a full kitchen. Central air (heat and cool) and hot tub are great as well. One of the rooms has a beautiful view on the gorge and river.
4.7
It was a pleasure to rent this house. Karen was responsive and provided all the information a large group could want. The check-in, check-out and logistics were a breeze.
Our group took advantage of the elevated front porch and found the front lawn and the hot tub/back deck great hang out zones. Even with 8 folks, the house felt spacious.
The house location was an easy walk into town and an even shorter walk to Kickstand, our favorite coffee spot for the weekend. The grocery store was also a quick jaunt down the road. Ideal rental for folks wanting to ditch the car for the weekend and keep it pedestrian.
