About this house rental
This is a newer custom home with granite and natural stone throughout, like no other. The homeowner is a tile mason. A very warm, comfortable home, with fireplaces in living room and Master bedroom. The house was designed for most of the rooms to have an ocean and/or lighthouse view. Home is across the street from oceanfront homes and has an easy beach access.
All beds have high thread count sheets, lots of comfy pillows, and some beds are high end pillow top mattresses. Way better than the finer hotels!! Both master bedrooms upstairs allow you to lie in bed looking out over the ocean, and listen to the soft ocean roar, while watching TV with the fireplace going in the larger master. We have a large great room perfect for entertaining large groups.

The property was beautiful and cozy. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen of any house I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures don’t do it justice.
The neighbors were all nice and friendly any time we saw them. We had some parking issues, as we brought a boat with us. The neighbor told us we could park the boat on the street since the driveway was full. I won’t repeat exactly what he said regarding the city, but he was a super nice guy.
The only cons I can think of: a week of staying there with 8 people makes a lot of trash and the trash cans are not very big. And the walk to the beach is great on the way to the beach. But the walk up hill back could pose a problem for some people. It was a good little workout.
We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

The place was the perfect size for our family vacation with six adults and three teens. Having the kitchen, living room and pool table all in one open floor plan was excellent. Water pressure was great. We cooked every meal in the kitchen, and had everything we needed. Jerry was a very responsive host when travel caused delays.

The house and area are amazing.Very clean and modern. The view is amazing. The only issue with this property was the neighbor. There is a rule of only 4 cars at the rental at a time. We renteed the house because we had a nephew pass a year ago and we were spreading his ashes. After speading his ashes we had People coming over for dinner. We talked with the neighbor and he told us we could park 1 car in front of his house and 2 in front of the vacant lot on the other side of his house as he owned this lot as well. We did this and after the dinner had been going for about 30 minutes we get a message from the property manager the he was getting complaints from the neighbor we had to many cars there. If you rent this place follow the parking rule no matter what the neighbor says. The house is very comfortable.

It was a lovely property for a nice Christmas stay. The cleanliness was top notch. The only downside was the basement was very cold, but everything else was great and would love to stay here again.

Not enough towels, not enough paper towels, definitely not enough TP for 10 adults for 5 nights.
Kitchen had one very small fry pan and the cord for the electric fry pan didnt fit.
The house is very nice, just needs some consideration for the necessities.

Plenty room for 7 adults, oversized hot water heater was great for 3 shower rooms. Close enough to beach-with a little walk. Neighborhood was friendly and it has ok views from the house. Plenty of furnishing for what we needed, if you bring kids there are toys and games for them too.

This house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed the layout, beds were comfy, and the small pool table was a hit. The walk to the beach is short and it seems not many people are aware of this beach access. A great time was had by all.

I recently stayed at this property with some friends and it exceeded my expectations. The house was clean, in a great location, and offered everything we needed for a few days of relaxation at the coast. You could see and hear the ocean from the house, it was a quick walk down to the beach, and an easy drive into Newport. The WiFi worked well, we enjoyed the pool table, and the kitchen was well stocked. We all loved the house and would definitely stay there again!

We were a group of 10 friends and found the house comfortable but the kitchen had many tired and worn pots/pans and dishes. Only 7 coffee cups for 10 people, 4 coffee filters and 4 wine glasses. Also we could not access the wifi with the password given us the entire stay and the contact person was not local or very helpful and basically blamed us for doing something to the wifi as it worked fine last week. Short walk to the beach was convenient.

Overall the home was nice. The King size room downstairs bed was dirty. Garbage in bins in garage was full when we showed up. We ran out of toilet paper in all bathrooms. The view of the ocean can only be seen from one bedroom on the third floor. There is a pool table and an open floor plan on second floor which was nice.

the lighthouse rental was great
house was beautiful and very clean. with 5 bedrooms & 3 1/2 baths was plenty of room or our family of 9. the availability of the portable crib and booster seat was sooo convenient. and there was a game closet that had a ton of fun games and puzzles. the only thing that was less than desireable was the upper windows in the living room had no blinds of any kind. in the late afternoon/early evening there was almost nowhere you could sit without the sun being right in your eyes. Even so, I would rent this place again

The pictures don't really do this home justice. The tile work is beautiful. The spacious kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The large living room was very comfortable. The beds were very comfy.

Amazing vacation!
The location of this property is ideal. Close to Newport and Depot Bay, we loved the comfort this property provided. Plenty of bedrooms and all the necessities you need!

Wonderful chill out space and location
Beautifully decorated space. We had room for 3 small families to scatter about the main living area and not be on top of each other. The couch is super comfy, the kitchen is pretty well stocked and enough prep area for making large family meals. The view is pretty good, you can see the ocean, though not the sunset. The very quiet beach was a short walk away for the athletic and an easy drive access for the less physically capable. The neighborhood was quiet (a little north and away from the busy town) and neighbors were easy to talk to as they walked their dogs by. Short drive to sights and and activities in Newport.
Slight "cons" - yes the trash in the garage can be a smell issue, however there's room on the concrete pad on the SE side of the house outside the garage to keep them both outside and well away from the neighbors view, and the light over the kitchen table is too large and low and easy to hit one's head on (even by shorter adults).

Agate Beach House
Location was excellent easy to get to Newport or other points of interest from the house. Some basic supplies usually found in VRBO rentals were lacking (dishwasher soap, bath soap/shampoo, paper products , foil, storage bags, etc). Most of the sinks leaked and the master bath tub drained so slowly that when showering it was slippery getting out of tub. If weather would have been better we would have liked to use back deck but furniture was so worn we would not have been able to use it. BBQ was very dirty and we had to clean it up. Toaster did not work.
With some basic upgrades this would be an excellent house to stay in but would not go back until that has happened.

Fabulous place to stay
We enjoyed our family vacation in this home so much. The beach access was easy and close. Access to restaurants and fun activities was excellent. The home was large enough for 10 adults and 3 small children. The home had everything we needed to cook and live for a week. Even provided us with beach towels. I would stay here again. Well worth it.

Welcoming home with great beach access.
We loved having space for everyone and a large gathering area. The walk to the beach is beautiful and well maintained. And the beach is perfect for all ages with a little stream and flat long beaches. We LOVED the tide pools at low tide. The huge basket of beach towels was so convenient and thoughtful. There were even two port a cribs for our grand babies. We felt so welcomed bringing younger children along with us. The dining and couch are big enough for all. Jerry was very responsive and helpful all along the way. He was ready to bring his own kitchen appliances and leave them for us to use. We loved our time here and would come again in a heart beat.

Perfect for bigger groups!
This house was so perfect for the amount of people in our group. Anywhere else I think we would have felt so cramped, but it had so much space. It made our vacation very relaxing! The short walk to the beach is a pleasant one, and the neighborhood is very nice. Would definitely book again!

Beach house
We had my grown kids there 2 little kids and my husband and I...total 6 adults 2 kids..the house was perfect..lots of room for everyone..gas grill outside ,pool table , huge windows to look out of ...short drive to restaurants ,grocery stores , fresh fish markets..very clean... there is a pathway to walk to the beach with stairs but my 6 year old grandson did fine on them...can't wait to stay again

Ocean views! Short walk to the beach!
This home was beautiful and fit our family great! We are a virtual family due to the Covid pandemic and this house gave us room to spread out for everyone to have their own bedroom/office. And there were so many fun things for us to do nearby when we weren't working.

Didn’t disappoint
I’ve stayed in the house before and just like the last stay this house didn’t disappoint. The only issue I had was the garbage cans were almost full and it smelled in the garage by the time we checked in on Friday night. Also if you plan to walk to the beach it’s a pretty hefty walk going down and especially hefty coming back. I would definitely rent this place again.

We loved the house and especially the close location to the relative remote stretch of beach. The communication with the owner was very easy and timely.

good stay
Overall the property was great! There were a few things that could have been better. The carpets were very dirty. More propane in the grill would have been nice. I was half way through grilling and ran out of propane and had to go get more. The garbage in the garage was very smelly. We got there on Friday and garbage was not picked up until Monday. Other than that it was a good stay and a nice home.

Outstanding “Near” Beach Location for Our Family of 8
We had a marvelous stay! Loved the house and location. Short walk to incredible 5.5 miles of beach. There were a few problems with the house when we arrived, but Jerry the owner was quick to respond and remedy. Pool table was a hit. WiFi and satellite TV worked great 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were awesome. Close to Newport, but extremely peaceful location. Loved the little pathway down to the beach. Whale watching 10 minutes up the road. BBQ grill was great on back porch. We would definitely stay in this home again. Felt like a very safe neighborhood.

Plenty of room for our big family perfect for gathering for Thanksgiving. Hard to get ahold of owner but didn’t distract from our stay. Beautiful kitchen lots of pots n pans but bring baking dishes. Nice big living/group area. This is a great place to stay

Lovely Weekend
Overall the property was very nice. The house was beautiful, the kitchen was spacious and lovely to work in. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were gorgeous. The tilework is custom and absolutely beautiful!
The neighborhood is close-knit, and you really get the feeling that everyone looks out for each other. Everyone was pleasant to speak to.
The kitchen was mostly stocked with the dishes and cookware we needed. If you like to cook, you may want to bring a frying pan and baking dish. Otherwise, there should be plenty to work with.
As an additional note, one of our beds did have a problem with the frame and needs a replacement. We contacted Jerry immediately, and while he was unable to replace it during our stay, we're certain he'll have it ready for the next guest.
Overall the property was lovely, and we certainly recommend this to future guests!

Labor Day 2019
Poor communication with owner. Sent two messages through VRBO after renting. No response. Finally called and talked to him.
Coffee maker died on Saturday morning. Called owner. Left a voicemail about purchasing a new coffee maker. No response whatsoever. We purchased a new coffee maker at Walmart which we used for the rest of the visit and left it at the home for future renters. Left old coffee maker in the garage. No reimbursement so far.
When we arrived a load of wet mildewed rags had been left in the washing machine. We rewashed and dried. Dryer was also full of towels. We folded them.
Half the kitchen lights were out. We replaced. The track lights flickered and many were out altogether.
The wall to wall carpet is poorly secured and lumpy; needs cleaning badly. Nearly half the window screens are missing or torn.
An unusable barbecue takes up precious garage space particularly when you can’t park any cars on the street.
Even so, a great location. The pool table was a nice surprise. Need some serious TLC.

Great location
We loved the proximity to Newport without being in the traffic and crowds and the access to the beach was delightful. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well designed and had all the implements needed. Nice and roomy house, with nice bathrooms. One needs to be able to do stairs frequently. Owner was easy to reach before our stay but is not responding to my inquiries about our damage deposit return. We did not do any damage to his house and followed the instructions for the use of the house.

Wonderful stay!!
We had a wonderful ocean vacation at this home. The new couch was so comfortable. Path to the beach was well cared for and our family of 10 had a marvelous time. Looking forward to coming back soon!!!

Family Thanksgiving at the coast.
This house is perfect for large groups, family and or multiple couples and children. Bedrooms and bathrooms on ground floor and third floor allowing privacy and retreat area. The second floor is a gathering area with a large well stocked kitchen opened to the great room. There are different views of the ocean and lighthouse, depending on which window you looked out and gaps between houses in front of this house. There is now a pool table in the great room along with a large tv with Dish TV, Netflix and more. 3 of the bedrooms also had tv and Dish connection.
There were only 8 in my family staying at the house but we were able to host my sister's family for a sit down Thanksgiving dinner making 21 in all. We did bring our own folding table and chairs to accommodate all.
The walk to the beach require a moderate climb back home, no problem for my 3 and 5 year old granddaughters. The path is maintained well.
