My high school friends and I did our first vacation together after our freshman year of college to reconnect and catch up. We had an AMAZING experience! Mitch and Mary were beyond welcoming. They were excited to show us around the rental and opened their beautiful property up to us. The history of the property is so fascinating and we highly recommend asking Mitch for a tour of his art gallery! The location was perfect! We were 15-20 minutes from all the best spots in Door County. HIGHLY recommend booking this rental! I know I will be again:)

We really enjoyed our stay and the hosts were super helpful and lovely the whole time. It was a great space for us to use and having a kitchen was really good. Overall a great place!

This property and our suite are lovely with fully equipped kitchen. This was so much nicer than staying at a hotel while we did local sight seeing and activities. Dog friendly property and walking areas. Limited cable and wireless was not a problem for us because we were so active in the area hiking, music, food, fishing and art classes. Great stay.

Both Mitch and Mary are incredible hosts. The house was kept extremely clean and kitchen had plenty of things for my fiance and I to cook on the day we got rained in. Overall a wonderful experience, couldn't have asked for more.

The apartment that we rented is on the second floor of an art studio. The grounds are beautiful and the host gave us a tour of the uniquely designed studio/home. The apartment was clean and quiet and centrally located being only 2 miles from downtown Fish Creek. I highly recommend this rental!

This was our first time in Door County and staying at the Quarry House. It was a great beginning to our trip, and Mary was there to greet us upon arrival. Riley greeted our Golden Retriever Cubby so playfully! The property was perfect for our party of four. Mary answered our questions about the area and the best places to eat, shop and stroll. Everything on the property exceeded our expectations, including the tour and stories behind the history of the home and property! We missed meeting Mitch as he was out of town that weekend, but we had such a great stay we will be back! Highly recommended vacation rental! Thank you for your hospitality, Mary!

Thank you Mitch and Mary for a wonderful stay in Fish Creek!
We arrived shortly after our check in time and were greeted by Mitch, Mary and their wonderful dog, Riley. Riley, who is a German Shepard mix, may look intimidating, but when he met our little boy, Kirby, a 14 lb mini poodle, he rolled onto his back ready to play!
The whole family was welcoming and engaging, throughout our entire visit. Some people don't like onsite hosts, but we found Mitch to be a wealth of information about the area and places to see. And the story of their building this masterpiece was amazing, which they enhanced with a tour of their personal quarters and his amazing art.
The space we rented was huge. 1100 square feet met all our needs, from a luxurious and spacious custom bathroom to the restful main room, we felt at home and were able to make our own breakfast when we felt like it.
We found it very easy to come and go, being centrally located on the island (YES, it IS an island), we ventured out every day in a different direction for a new and exciting adventure.
A MUST SEE breakfast/brunch place is "THE BIG EASY." Most of the newbies will go to Al Johnson's for Swedish pancakes, but this place brings a taste of New Orleans to WI and they knock it out of the park.
Thanks again to Mitch and Mary (& Riley) for a wonderful stay and we would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants to get off the beaten path and enjoy a quiet visit to this beautiful island.

This was our first, and certainly not our last, stay at the Quarry House. It's located on a secluded road and yet we were very close to everything we wanted to see in Fish Creek and all of Door County. The hosts were very gracious, even inviting us to a wine and cheese "happy hour" upon check in. They were so accommodating. The rental was spacious, very clean, and nice and quiet.

This amazing property is just a 10 min bike ride or 2-3 minute drive to Fish Creek. The interior is modern and well taken care of with a good kitchen. The owners/hosts are very kind, friendly and helpful people and helped us with our plans and reservations. Dogs are welcome, but best kept on a leash most of the time outside. This is definitely going to be our go-to place when we return to Fish Creek! It’s not right downtown, but that’s actually better in our opinion. You get all the benefits of Fish Creek, but without all the bustling tourism on your doorstep.

Mitch and Mary must be visionaries. They bought a 4 acre stone quarry and turned it into a a beautiful and very interesting property. They are also great hosts. Wonderful people! We picked a great place to celebrate our 45th anniversary.

This was a beautiful property, peaceful, clean and spacious. Our hosts, Mary and Mitch, were kind and gracious.
If you stay, plan to supply yourself with whatever beverages and snacks you want. This isn’t a property that provides much beyond a couple Keurig pods of coffee.
My only disappointment was that the booking site I looked at showed the location to be downtown Fish Creek, which was a big selling point. It’s a beautiful location but about 1-2 miles from downtown.

We enjoyed our stay at the Quarry House with Mitch and Marilyn. They greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour so we knew how everything worked. They checked in to make sure we had everything we needed or any unanswered questions. This house/space is so unique and their property is lovely! They have many beautiful outdoor spaces and that were available for us to use. This home is about a 6 minute drive to downtown Fish Creek, and is nestled in a quarry, so it was super quiet and a great nature hideout. The shower was amazing, as was the bathtub. Kitchen fully stocked with everything but an oven. The beds are firm and we were glad we brought our own pillows. The A/C doesn't reach the master bedroom really well, so we kept the doors open to the room/bathroom to keep the airflow going during an unseasonably warm weekend. Our friend stayed on a murphy bed in the living room, which was a pleasant surprise and a new addition to the home. We were so comfortable there, including our dog. Mitch and Marilyn's main house is really special. You will want to take the tour if they offer one! We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay! Our fur baby was welcomed and even became fast play buddies with the puppy on property 💛 Mitch and Mary are kind, accommodating, welcoming hosts, making you feel like family. We definitely hope to return again!

We arrived at Quarry House and were immediately in love with the site. From the outside it looked like a French country villa. We were immediately welcomed by Mary who led us to our suite and got a tour of the rest of the property by Mitch. We were impressed by all we saw and delighted by our hosts. We will be back again to spend more time at Quarry House! Thank you so much for your conviviality, Mary and Mitch.

We enjoyed our stay at The Quarry. It is a beautiful property, artistically designed, furnished, and landscaped by the owners, Mitch and Mary. Mitch and Mary are a wealth of knowledge about the area and know things not found online. On our way to the property, we got a flat tire 10 miles from Fish Creek. Our own on-line searching turned up one, highly recommended, local shop and we were ready to go there the next morning to have it fixed. Mitch knew the owner and called ahead to find that they would be unable to finish the repair before we had to return. He was able to get a recommendation for another place in Sturgeon Bay that did the job quickly and at a lower cost than expected, saving our vacation. We were able to combine the repair with our trip to Whitefish Bay Dunes. Mitch and Mary went above and beyond what was expected to help make this a great vacation. The property description and pictures do not do justice to is the hospitality of the owners.

We were in Door County for a family wedding and ended up booking both the carriage house and this property with some other family members. What a perfect and lovely set-up for us! Mitch and Mary were so welcoming and treated us like family. The day we arrived they gave us a tour of their gorgeous and unique living quarters after showing us to our rented unit. The grounds are beautiful, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to explore it entirely. The location is fairly close to Fish Creek, but far enough out of town to have that country feel. Would definitely stay there again!

Great Stay
We had a very good stay at the Quarry House. Mitch and Mary were fantastic hosts! There were a lot of positives with this stay:
-Wonderful setting
-Spacious and comfortable accommodations
-East to get to
-Great location as it is close to Fish Creek but also a quick and easy drive to Egg Harbor
-The hosts are very communicative and easy to work with
From our perspective, the only negatives would be the lack of a TV in the bedroom, which likely stems from the second and larger negative -- spotty wifi service. My iPhone 13 was never able to connect and my year old laptop was sporadic at best. That makes it really difficult for doing work or streaming anything (since there was not TV in the bedroom). The cell service bounced between 1 and 2 bars so we worked around it. But it was not ideal.
All in all it was a great stay. And the only real negatives could be easily fixed with a LAN cable, an updated router, and a TV with native Roku.

Bed w/o breakfast
Great hosts and interesting property. Missed the part about it being an owner occupied property, it is specified but hidden in the extended details. There was also a sauna listed, was that the jet tub thing? We rented an entire home for about the same price in the Smokies. While we enjoyed our stay, do feel it was over priced for what it was. No regrets, thanks for the stay!
