About this house rental
Experience instant relaxation when setting foot into this beautiful vintage beachfront house with 180 degree views of the Oregon coastline. The mid century design is an open-plan with the living room, dining room, and kitchen all comprising one great room with a wall of windows looking out over sand dunes and partial views of the crashing surf. Great deck facing the beach and front sand "yard" with fire pit and play area for kids and adults.
Our house is a vintage 1960s house (read: not a new build). It is remodeled, but definitely still has "vintage charm". If this appeals to you, great! If not, there are lots of new modern rentals available in Manzanita.
The kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking, and the dining area seats 12 (8 at a table, 4 more at a bar height counter). The house sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms (1 King, 1 Queen, pair of Twins, Bunk Room with 2 sets of bunk beds with twin mattresses).
Other amenities include: wood burning fireplace, wifi, a TV cart (with Netflix, and Apple TV – no cable), a game room with ping pong table, a washer/dryer, high chair, portable crib ('Pack n' Play'), BOB single stroller (front wheel locks for jogging), 2 adult beach cruiser bikes. Parking for 2 cars max.
In front of the house, a 100 yard path leads through sand dunes to 7 miles of sandy beach. From the house it is a 10 minute walk (3/4 mile) up the beach to the small, friendly town of Manzanita. The area is a natural paradise that includes hiking trails through old growth forests with incredible ocean vistas, miles of bike paths in Nehalem Bay State Park (1/2 mile), surfing at Oswald State Park/Short Sands (10 min drive), fishing in Nehalem River, and crabbing in Nehalem Bay. Golfers will enjoy Manzanita's beautiful and challenging nine hole course (1/3 mile).

We had a lovely time, the house was perfect and accomodated our group of Moms and kids wonderfully. You can't beat the location on the beach and the kids loved playing in the sand and yard right out front!

This house felt like we had friends say, “Hey, we’re not going to be at our house this week, do you want to use it?” It felt like a big welcome.
Beautiful home, nice beach access (although my disabled parents were not able to get to the beach), a great location, cute town, and thoughtfully stocked. A great place to stay!

This lovely, clean, wonderfully located property was an excellent spot for our family. We appreciated how well stocked the house is (from the ping pong table to record player) and found it to be a great place to unwind and enjoy the beach. Thank you!

This home exceeded all our expectations. We loved the location and the view, of course. But also the owners thought of everything to make it a comfortable stay- well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, amazing beach toys & chairs, s'more sticks - everything! We LOVED the record player and amazing vinyl collection and spent every evening, cocktail in hand, listening to an album and watching the dune grass blow. The art is beautiful and we all spent our meals discussing our favorites. All in all a perfect home for us! Thank you!

Hands down the best place we’ve stayed at in manzanita. The most perfect set up right on the beach with everything you need. We will be back!

We love staying here! Spent a few peaceful days of beach wandering, puzzling, stargazing, and cooking together. Remarkable house (decor, light, ping pong, vinyl, everything you need in a kitchen) great views, we can’t wait to go back!

We were very impressed with how well supplied the house was, and once we discovered the wood supply, we made the house much more comfortable The biggest draw-back was the Pelican Lane. I felt like we were entering a third world country when forging the muddy pot holes. An other down side was the time it took to get hot water at the sinks and showers. A hot water recirculating pump would solve that problem and can be controlled remotely. Save water and money while taking the strain off your sewer system and hot water tank. Also the gfci outlet in the master bathroom is not working. We wanted to put a night light in there, but it didn't work. It was the light from the kitchen island. All in all it was a pleasant stay in spite of the rain.

We had a wonderful stay! We have a family of 5, kids ages 10, 14, and 16. There was plenty to do at the house and we stayed in and enjoyed the view most of the time. It was beautiful. Beds and bedding were high quality and comfortable. We were grateful to have such a wonderful vacation rental.

This was the most delightful home. Idyllic, perfectly decorated, clean, so comfortable, genuine coastal charm, and immediate beach access. Could not say enough good things about this stay! (And everyone agrees they had the best sleep ever in those beds!)

Had a lovely stay enjoying the beautiful location. Had our children join us with the grandchildren. The flow of the house makes it feel larger than it is. Everyone enjoyed the record player. Roasted hot dogs and smores on the firepit.

The owners do a great job of describing their property, we had a fantastic stay and it was as advertised. We loved many things about this house—the beach access and views, it was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed, ping pong and bikes were a bonus, and the kids loved all the toys and books. We definitely hope to return!

We have been coming to Manzanita for Thanksgiving for 21 years, with various iterations of family. We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is lovely and well-equipped for cooking and entertaining. My granddaughter loved the bunkroom/playroom, which is full of toys and books. The owners have generously provided beach equipment, and the beautiful weather allowed us to enjoy the beach which is just steps away from the house. This may have been our favorite Manzanita rental ever and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful house with a great vibe in a dreamy location! Our family of 9 had a wonderful stay. The house was so well equipped with everything we needed, and more! Sand pit, kid toys, and ping pong table were a hit, proximity to the water is awesome, and the view of the ocean through the dunes and sea grasses was even better than expected. Record player, bluetooth speaker, roasting sticks for the fire pit, games, puzzles, a well-equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, little book lights for each bed in the bunk room… all the amenities they provide really made it feel like home. The garage and the mud room were super handy as they served as ‘drop off areas’ for shoes and jackets and helped to contain the sand before entering the rest of the house. Highly recommend this place; it was sad to leave! One of the kids of our group hugged the outside of the house when it was time for us to go, and a few tears were shed- that says it all! Thanks for an amazing stay.

This is the 2nd time that I have stayed at this property. The location is great... the beach is right at the front door and it's an easy walk into town. (And the kitchen has everything you might need.)

Our family of four had a great time here. There was excellent instructions and everything was well equipped. Especially appreciated the kids toys, going for bike rides, the sandy yard for kid play and proximity of the beach. The record player was really fun. We didn't use the bunk room for sleeping, just play, but if that room is needed, be aware that it's located through a somewhat finished part of the garage and doesn't seem to have heat at the moment but maybe that is in the process of being updated. Our almost 5 year old wouldn't have slept there due to location of the bedroom, but we fit fine within the main part of the house. Overall, wonderful experience for our family!

Mediocre property. We found the house to have poor ventilation - see review about mold from the previous guests. Taking a shower in either bathroom leaves the house feeling damp and musky. None of the beach-facing windows open. Bathroom has broken windows and we noticed some leaking from the toilet.
Bed mattresses are like quicksand, worst of all was the King. Trash was overflowing when we arrived.
The house is right next to a public access trail so expect to see people walking close to the house windows throughout the day. We also agree with the previous reviewers that the the property owners do not prioritize the guest experience.
We've stayed in several properties in Manzanita; this is not one we could recommend.

This place is a gem. It's such an inviting space - very clean and comfortable with simple, appealing decor. The location is ideal - perfect for little adventures and staying put. The owner Sarah was so easy to communicate with, particularly because we had a lot of questions about wheelchair accessibility for one of our family members.

If you have allergies/sensitivity to mold, do NOT stay here. Two (master bedroom and kids bunk room) of the four bedrooms are unusable due to the stench. This situation was untenable since my toddler and 4 month infant were having asthmatic reactions. We have stayed in Manzanita many times on the beach and never encountered this before. When we contacted the owner, they sent over a handyman over to inspect. He pulled up the carpet in the kids bunk room which exposed what appeared to be a significant mold infestation. He stated the room should be sealed off while they investigated. In spite of this, the owner refused to cancel our booking and refund the remaining nights so we could seek alternate accommodations for the remainder of the week. We had no choice but to leave the property early and pay for a second VRBO. Terrible experience.

This was our third stay and as always, it was perfect for our family. Close to the beach, bright and open, and kid-friendly!

We have stayed in many beach homes along the Oregon coast over the years and this is by far one of the best. It was incredibly clean and exceptionally well stocked. The location cannot be beat, tucked away in the dunes, and so accessible to one of Oregon’s best beaches. We had family members ranging in age from six months to 50 years and this cabin has something for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need to make fantastic meals. The short walk into town every morning for coffee and treats was fun. The beach seems endless. The owners were incredibly responsive to questions. The cabin itself is adorable, and the beds were so comfy. We cannot wait to come back to this cabin that has it all!

They literally thought of everything! This house is amazing for two families. Loved the little sand area outside of the house with the fire pit!

The house was very clean. Great location and space for vacation with 4 kids under 5. They loved playing in the sand in the backyard and on the beach a short walk away. The house also had a lot of great options for the kids inside as well with toys, kid friendly dishes, and books. .

This house was so lovely - great light, comfortable, and fully equipped for a perfect vacation. The view is outstanding and you can walk out the door and onto the beach. And just a short walk to town. Love the mid-century vibe and cozy furniture. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating. We had a memorable weekend celebrating a friend's 60th bday and I'd love to come back again and stay longer. The only downside is a lingering smokey smell if you use the fireplace. Otherwise, this place rocks!!!!
