About this house rental
Situated on a serene, tree-lined avenue on the edge of downtown, this brand-new four-bedroom house is the best of both worlds: It’s in a quiet, secluded neighborhood right next to the Horse Gulch trail system, which leads up into the mountains, but it’s also only a 10- to 15-minute stroll to Main Street’s restaurants, shops and galleries. We added solar in 2023 along with a level 2 electric car charger that is free to use.
Designed and built from the ground up as the ultimate vacation home base, the Durango Hideout is equipped with air conditioning as well as indoor-outdoor living spaces. The house features a front deck with a dining table and views overlooking the mountains for long, lazy nights of socializing as well as a back deck with a grill and a shady porch with rocking chairs. Another house that we own downtown is the Carriage House that sleeps 7 (vrbo# 409501)
The Durango Hideout’s great room features vaulted ceilings, a gas fireplace, reclaimed wood floors, big comfy couches for movie-watching and game-playing, and a hand-built dining table that seats 10. The open kitchen has stainless steel appliances, every tool a cook could want, and an island bar that seats five and is great for casual entertaining.
There are also plenty of entertainment options: The house has three TVs, including a 55-inch LED Smart TV in the great room as well as a 42-inch Internet TV with a DVD player in the den and a 42-inch Internet TV in the master bedroom. We have an arsenal of board games and two bins full of toys for kiddos. (There’s also a Pack N Play, a high chair, a small collection of children’s books, and fun built-in bunk beds in the den/4th bedroom.) The garage securely stores bikes and other equipment.
This house has two floors with the main living area on the second floor. The master bedroom, located on the same level as the great room, has a king bed, a walk-in closet and a beautiful private bathroom. The main level also has an additional half bathroom.
Downstairs, there are three bedrooms that share a bathroom. The second bedroom has a king-size bed and the third bedroom has a queen-size bed. The fourth bedroom, also known as the den, has two hand-built barn doors and features one set of built-in bunk beds and a sturdy, comfy American Leather queen pull-out sofa.

We had a wonderful time! The home is exactly as advertised and had everything we needed. The house it tucked away off the main road allowing for privacy and the feel you are out of the city. The bunk room downstairs was super cute and all the beds are very comfortable!

Great property! We had plenty of space for everything and felt right at home! We were both working some and we each had our space to do it. Very quiet. Would 100% stay again. We enjoyed walking to downtown.

This property worked out great for our family vacation in Durango. 3 BRs downstairs for my son’s family, and 1 BR upstairs for grandma and grandpa. Convenient location for Durango activities. Short walk to the Horse Gulch Trails and only a 15 to 20 minute walk to the downtown area. This is our second stay and will stay here again in the future.

Had an amazing time at Andrew's place. This is the first time we've been in this location and found it absolutely perfect. Big fluffy towels, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, quiet, and while this is located in town, it feels secluded and private. I can't say enough good about this home and Andrew. Thank you!

We had a very nice stay at the Hideout. There were four adults and an infant on this trip. The location was walking distance from downtown yet quiet with mature trees and a small, grassy back yard. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our group. We loved sitting on the 2nd floor deck in the morning and evening. My only negative comment is that the two downstairs bedrooms do not have closets or dressers so there's no place to put clothing. We used the extra "kids" room as the repository for suitcases and extra gear. It was nice to have a garage to keep our bicycles and baby stroller.

We had a great time in Durango. The house was spacious, clean, and met all our needs. We enjoyed reading on the balcony and playing games inside at the table. It was within walking distance to the Main Street shops too. I highly recommend this rental.

We had the best time at this very comfortable VRBO home. It was well-stocked and just as pictured. There was great communication with the host. The location is perfect for everything Durango has to offer. It’s just a few minutes walk to hiking trails and a natural foods co-op, and just over a 20 minute walk to downtown. Our teens loved ziplining at Durango Adventures and whitewater rafting with Durango Rivertrippers. We also enjoyed hiking, visiting Mesa Verde National Park, and soaking at the Durango Hot Springs Resort. The house is perfect for relaxing after busy days. Would love to visit Durango again and stay in this fantastic home.

Perfectly stocked, clean, comfortable with perfect yard and porches. The walk to downtown is not too far, but not a trip you would want to do multiple times a day. The location is great for bike riders because a large park is directly behind this home. The street is quiet and secluded. Our 24' motorhome fit perfectly in the driveway.

Loved this house. Would move-in and live the Durango life if it was an option. Stayed for a long weekend with a couple of mountain biking gals. Great trails accessible just down the street and longer trails a short ride away. We will return.

We started our vacation week with a stay at the Durango Hideout. It's an ideal rental. The home was very clean, mattress comfortable, and neighborhood quiet. The location had very easy access to Durango and also to head out of town in any direction. As others said, it's very well stocked with any supplies needed.

An amazing house! The best stocked and cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at! Andrew was a great host, gave us detailed instructions in advance and even reached out the morning of our check in to let us know the house was ready early and we were welcome to come check in early. We will be back!

We stayed at the Hideout during the last weekend of snowdown and had a blast! The property has amazing views, is so close to everything and was perfect for our stay. Andrew was very accommodating when we asked for early check-in/late check-out, and it was easy to get a hold of him.

The house, the location… Simply wonderful. Though there was a little misunderstanding on my end with using the television streaming services, Andrew, the property owner was very understanding. We will definitely look at renting this property in the future as we frequent to Durango at least once or twice a year, traveling from central New Mexico.

The house was beautiful and spacious. Great location, short walk to downtown Durango and Horse gulch trails. Easy to make day trips to Mesa Verde, Pagosa Springs and Silverton. We lucked out on timing, the Aspens were a spectacular yellow. We hope to return in the future!
