About this apartment rental

This is a weekend getaway apartment located just one block from the Lehigh River and fifteen minute walk into historic downtown Jim Thorpe. The apartment is equipped with a queen size bed, a sleeper sofa, gas fireplace (cold months only), basic cable TV, a DVD player, WIFI, new kitchen, rustic living room and new bathroom. There is a shaded brick courtyard in the back to relax outside. The apartment also has original artwork hanging on the walls painted by the owner. Painting reproductions are for sale downtown at the Bear Appetite Cafe and the owners original tee shirts designs for sale at the Mauch Chunk 5 &10 located on Broadway and Horizon Gifts located where Race street and Broadway meet.

We traveled up to PA for a wedding in Tamaqua and decided to stay in Jim Thorpe because the couple had a shuttle going out of downtown. I chose this place at the last second and it was a great decision! The VRBO was clean and very easy to check in and out of. It was within walking distance from town and was nice because we could park the rental car right out front. Steve was amazing and I would highly recommend this place!

Super clean, comfy, grt pkg out front, awesome host, all amenities of apt. Good a/c..all one needed plus..highly recommend. Quiet as it is across river 5 min. Fm busy downtown.

Overall, the unit was comfortable, Steve was attentive, efficient and the location was convenient. It was relatively clean, however, there was a lot of dust & cobwebs under furniture, cabinets and in the corners of the rooms. There were also crumbs under the cushions of the sofas. The kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, dishes and a coffee pot. The bed was comfortable. Overall though, we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend this unit.

Property was as expected as we have stayed at Steve's other property on Broadway. Parking was easy but walk to Broadway was not possible for my 85 year old husband. Preferred the Broadway location as it suited our needs more.

We stayed a week in the Weekender and it was great! Place was just as described and very comfortable for the two of us and our 12 month old. The air kept us plenty cool even though it was really hot that week! The kitchen was well equipped, the location was great- just a 15 min walk to the historic area and super close to the market, etc. There’s a great little pub basically across the street too! Steve is a great host and super attentive. Wonderful place and would stay again.

The weekender was very charming, clean and perfect for our stay. Great proximity to the town and to Penn's Peak to enjoy a concert. Jim Thorpe has so much charm and we loved just walking around and exploring. Our hosts were very gracious and it was lovely to meet them! I highly recommend this as a place to stay when visiting Jim Thorpe, PA.

This was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We were near the sights but on a quiet street away from the traffic. The home was clean and spacious. Easy to walk to the store down the hill. Loved waking up to the birds outside. The host was kind and responsive! Highly recommend the Asa Packer Mansion and the Old Jail tours. It was pretty neat to finally see the boulder field at the nearby Hickory Run State Park. Looking forward to returning to bike and hike through the Lehigh Valley Gorge.

From start to finish, this was an exceptional Vrbo experience. The host was very informative and friendly. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Bed was comfortable, towels and linens were good quality and water Pressure was great. Jim Thorpe was an amazing little town with so much to do! From bike riding along the river, touring the Packer mansion, visiting the shops and taking the trolley ride to learn all about the area, we had a great time. The restaurants are fabulous, everything we ate was amazing! I’ve booked many properties through Vrbo, this one rates number one. I picked this place as part of my son and his brides’ honeymoon. They said it was comfortable and the owner was very nice and helpful. It was, however, a bit dusty and they found a lot of trash and left behind items under beds and such, so it sounds like housekeeping needs to step up their game a bit. Their only other concern was that the bedroom door didn’t lock properly and the only exit in the event of an emergency was the front door because the bed and bath had no easily accessible windows.

Steven is an unbelievable wonderful host! We have been staying at his place now for three winters for skiing! It is perfectly located and even cooler than the pictures show! However, just as our trip approached our whole crew caught the bug and we’re unable to go! Steve was so accommodating, kind and supper accessible for communication! I would recommend him and his place over and over to anyone!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Weekender. So nice to park our car in front of the rental and walk about 15 min. over to the Olde Time Christmas in Jim Thorpe. Some of the best things about this rental are the location, comfortable bed, gas fireplace and cozy welcoming feel. I also loved all the hooks. (you can never have too many hooks) Steve sent us great instruction/suggestions to make our stay even better and sent a message after our check in to make sure everything was okay. On his suggestions, we took the trolley ride and really enjoyed it. We took a quick ride over to Leighton to have dinner at Bonnie & Clyde Pub. Great service and food. We would stay here again if we were to visit the area again.

Our stay at The Weekender was awesome! The apartment was exactly as described. It was clean and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed the paintings that were completed by our host. We had a 15 minute walk to beautiful Jim Thorpe. Check in with keyless entry was so easy. We would definitely rent from Steve again! Thanks for a lovely memory. PR

Great place in more quaint side of town with easy access to any activities in the area. Stephen was a great host , very friendly and helpful in recommendations to all that the region has to offer. Will definitely re book in the furture and most definitely recommend to friend's and other acquaintance's .

This was a great place to stay when visiting Jim Thorpe. We stayed the second weekend in October and it was very busy for fall fliage season. Its just outside of the downtown, which is a better place to be when its busy, but you can walk. We brought bikes but i would not recommend trying to bike into town.the apartment was exactly as in the listing. Very cozy. We would stay again.

This was one our best rental finds. What a gem. Perfect location. It is about 1/2 mile from the train station and everything else Jim Thorpe has to offer. The property is set in a very quiet location. Everything as far as kitchen utensils, bathroom supplies and linens are provided. Steve,the owner,was very kind and helpful on our arrival. We will be back asap!!!

Excellent location to visit JimThorpe, just a ten minute walk into downtown so no need to find/pay for parking and a quite residential street for a good night sleep. With a great bed, super bathroom (high pressure shower ) and great full size kitchen ,its the perfect place to relax. Our main topic was the Leigh trail bike train but also found sone good golfing 20 min away, Host was excellent and had some original artwork hanging in the rooms.

Spent a few nights with my two boys to explore Jim Thorpe. This place was so perfect. It was close to everything. The house was cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed and parking was super easy right in front of the rental. The host was fantastic at communicating with us. Thank you. Don’t hesitate to book.

Our family spent the weekend biking, hiking, shopping, and eating in Jim Thorpe. This apartment was in a perfect location for walking into town, which was great so we could avoid the traffic and parking hassles! The apartment is small but it was fine for the 4 of us since we were mostly out doing activities. The beds were comfortable. There was an occasional strange smell from the bathroom, like sulfur, but it didn't last too long. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions. I would definitely stay there again!

This is a place that has the basics. It met our needs. We wanted to go to Jim Thorpe but we didn't want to pay the high prices to stay in the historical part. This is located just across the river and takes about 2 minutes to get to the historical area of Jim Thorpe.

This is an awesome place and my second time staying here. It's close enough to walk into town if you don't want to try and find parking in town. Great little pub and breakfast place just a few blocks up from from the house too. Recommended highly and will come back again!

This property is perfect while visiting Jim Thorpe. Just minutes away from town, quiet street, clean and homey. Host is helpful and gave us information about our stay. Would recommend this apartment...price is great and is all that one needs for a relaxing get away!
