About this house rental
Serene respite in all seasons after a day on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, visiting one of numerous nearby attractions or unique dining experiences like Barn8 to spend time together with family and friends, or attending Louisville events. Enjoy the deck overlooking the Ohio River in warm weather or sit around a toasty fire in the common area, also overlooking the Ohio River, in cold winter weather.
Spacious 3200 square foot sparkling clean Ohio riverfront home in upscale area just off major Louisville highway, gorgeous natural view across the river of the wooded hills of Charlestown State Park. Has large open concept area and generous fully-shaded deck overlooking the Ohio River, plenty of space for your whole group to mingle, yet ample space to spread out for solitary time. Enjoy housewide WiFi and large screen tv in living area with comfy sectional and 4 recliners, and TVs in every bedroom.
Common area has a wall of glass with 3 doors opening onto deck, sunken living room, large fully-equipped kitchen, riverfront dining room with seating for 8 plus seating for 4 at the kitchen island, and cozy, crackling wood-burning fireplace. Four beautifully decorated bedrooms all have queen beds. There is also a daybed with trundle, futon, double-high queen aerobed (upon request), sofa with 3 recliners that lie nearly flat, and plenty of floor space for air mattresses. All bathrooms have showers, one has a tub, liquid soap, shampoo, hairdryers, and fresh towels.
The yard has ample space for setting up games. Cornhole, giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, indoor Shuffleboard, Foosball and multiple board games/cards are included in rental. There is garage parking for 2 cars and driveway parking for 2 additional cars. No street parking is allowed. This is a peaceful get-away-from-it-all place to grill out on the deck as you watch the sun set, or relax with a drink and a good book down on the dock (closed in winter) where you may spot a blue heron or hear the evening call of the loon.
You are welcome to bring your kayaks, small boats, etc. and use the dock in season. In the winter, the water view is still beautiful as from the warmth of a crackling fire as you watch an assortment of birds fly up to window from feeders.
Advance arrangements for any small day gatherings are considered on an individual basis and must be made in advance.
This rental is owner-operated, not one of many run by a distant management company. Owner is 15 minutes away and is on call 24/7.

What a beautiful house with an amazing view! My family and I loved our stay. It was relaxing, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. It is so close to Louisville-we didn’t have to drive far to anything we wanted to do. We highly recommend staying here!

This is the second time we have used this property. It suited our family needs 2 years ago, and we agreed that it would be a great location for a sister visit this summer! It was a "coming home" visit for us--there were 5 of us from 5 different states although we grew up in Oldham County.
We spent most of our time enjoying the back deck watching the birds come readily to the feeders, gazing at the barges moving up and down river as the speedboats, houseboats, and wave runners steered clear, and simply contemplating the mesmerizing Ohio River.
Our hostess answered immediately when we had questions, and she was more than accommodating when she had to gather the items we left behind!
The home is clean and well organized, supplied with many conveniences.
We might suggest having a supply of tissues and laundry detergent, but we honestly have NO complaints!

This river house was GREAT! The owner was more generous than any we've had in the past and her book with home-made maps and ideas and brochures was most appreciated. Linens & towels huge, which I loved. Best views on the river. With lots of family in the area, it was great having a home base and will definitely try to book again if we get to do another week stay.

Weekend family celebration, very satisfied with the property and host. Large renovated house, great location on the Ohio River and close to Louisville. Becky, our host, was always available to answer any question and help (especially with a power outage, Becky and her sons made sure we were OK)

My family of 6 enjoyed our vacation at this lovely home with a beautiful view of the Ohio River! Great communication with the host - she even left a special dessert for us to share. Comfortable beds and lots of space. We would definitely stay again!

Camp Husky was the BEST!!! It was a perfect fit for four couples. Plenty of room for all. After a day of doing “touristy” things, we all looked forward to an evening on the deck - so nice!

So many listings use smoke and mirrors to sell you on the space. Not this host. The pictures don’t do it justice. Spacious (we had four, each of us with our own bedroom). You can have a group of 8-10 without a problem. The location on the river is great. The neighborhood is lovely. The host was helpful and very fast with communication. The only suggestion is for a new skillet or two. And that was our only wish list! Highly recommend.

We had a beautiful long weekend! Nice and quiet! We sat out on the deck in the morning with coffee and muffins and had wonderful conversations while watching the river, boats and humming birds. The whole house was very comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!!

The house is on a quiet street with many beautiful riverside houses. And easy drive to downtown, Churchill Downs, river parks, horse farms. The house had ample room for 3 couples — with a large kitchen for meal prep and eating. The family room is filled with comfy furniture to gather at the end of the night. The bedrooms are spacious and each has access to its own bathroom. The deck overlooking the river has a beautiful view of the sunset!

My first VRBO- Better than pictures! The River experience watching boat traffic was so fun- the kitchen was well stocked with utensils for enjoying our homemade food daily. Big kitchen we could share together- nice meeting areas for our large group. Quiet neighborhood with nearby attractions and areas to walk. The only negative things I have to say is the ice maker not working- we just ran out and bought ice. There was also one shower that had some mold issues- maybe mention to the cleaners ? All in all We Loved the property- sleeping arrangements were comfortable and plenty of sleeping options! We will certainly keep this place a first option for our next cousin reunion. Owner was east to contact and responded to all our questions!

Our group of 6 women stayed here for a long weekend in September. The house was perfect for our group--plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed eating on the deck, hanging out in the comfy living room, and doing a little cooking in the nicely stocked kitchen. It seemed like everything in Louisville was an easy 25 minutes away. Becky was great to work with and left us a lot of good information about the house and the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend this house!

This was a wonderful place to stay right on the river across from 12 mile island. Home was lovely, spacious and comfortable for our family. Kitchen invites you to hang out and cook as a family and the back porch is amazing with bird and hummingbird feeders. Nothing beats this view of the river, the quiet river traffic, and the river otters! Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

I attended Camp Husky with a few friends from college and we all loved the property. There were beautiful views and a nice lawn to play yard games. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We loved this property it fit almost all of our groups needs and you could not ask for a better view from the deck. We were pretty sure when we booked it it had a hot tub listed as one of the amenities but upon arrival there was not one in place. The only other issues we had were the refrigerator ice machine did not work so we just had to buy a bag of ice. Also the bathtub in the upstairs master suite was marked “Do not use” we are guessing because it was a jetted tub possibly, this created a work around issue for one of our party due to a medical condition, but nothing worth calling our host about. The house was very well decorated and staged for our arrival and had more than enough extra amenities and items that helped with the process of staying in a residential neighborhood a short drive away from any stores. The washer and dryer availability was great for everyone as we all returned home with very little laundry to do. The kitchen was also very well stocked with commodities the only thing we had to purchase was our choice of coffee for the coffee maker and our basic groceries for our 4 day stay. We all agree we would definitely recommend this place to any group that has a large number of people due to the size of the home but also wish there was an option for a smaller group at a discounted rate for a weekend stay as we would like to return in the future.

This is our third time to rent this wonderful house. We love it’s layout. It’s perfect for entertaining, & for 6 to 8 adults to stay together very comfortably. It has a beautiful view of the Ohio River from the many windows on the back of the house, & from the lovely, large deck that’s on the back of the house. It’s easy to get to. And it’s a short drive to Louisville. I’m sure that we will come back again!

Family trip
House was beautiful with all amenities needed for a wonderful vacation. We loved gathering on deck overlooking Ohio River and taken in the beautiful views and sunsets. Also enjoyed fishing off dock. Location provided easy access to Louisville for site seeing, Churchill Downs, Louisville Bat company along with access to visit family and take in the Madison Regatta in Indiana. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
