About this cabin rental
The Hemlock Cabin is part of our 'rustic lodge'. Our lodge is located on the banks of the beautiful Watauga River, halfway between Johnson City and Elizabethton. The lodge was designed to resemble a horse barn and sits on 5 acres with over 600 feet of river frontage and consists of 3 cabins.
The downstairs Hemlock cabin has over 900 square feet of living space. The cabin has a queen bed, 2 super twin beds which can be made into a King bed, cat napper sofa, two full baths, along with a full kitchen and living area. The Hemlock cabin can accommodate four comfortably.
All linens are included -- all you have to do is pick up some food and bring your personal items -- all other items will be provided for you! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, toaster, coffee maker and microwave.
The cabin has heat/air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen satellite TV, DVD/VCR, gas fireplace, central laundry facility and gas & charcoal grills.
There is also a full hook-up RV pad with 50 amp service, located on the river. (extra cost) The RV lot has a private deck that overlooks the river.
Very convenient to both Johnson City and Elizabethton (10 minutes) as well as Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and Hawksnest ski resorts (45-60 minutes). Immediately adjacent to the lodge is the Watauga River which is about 100 feet wide and is home to some of the finest Trout fishing in the Eastern United States. Trout species in the Watauga River are Rainbow, Brook and Brown as well as several types of Bass and various non-game species. This lower part of the Watauga has been designated as the 'Quality Trout Zone.'
We have other cabins available please call for dates and prices.

This cabin is cute & we enjoyed our stay. Could use a few updates. The linens (towels) need to be replaced. The lighting is dim but these things are fixable. The cabin overall is cute and the location is very nice. The other guests in the cabins nearby Used the fire pit each night and we were clearly not welcome. Maybe a sign for courtesy would be good. Great place for location and price. I would stay again!

We visit the area 2-3 times each year. We never stay anywhere but Wautauga River Cabins unless they are booked when we need them. All the comforts of home, without the stresses of home. And the river right outside your door!

This property on the river is beautiful! We enjoyed the fire pit and tons of wildlife. Deer or turkey were out in the fields almost every morning.
The property was clean and had everything we needed for our week long stay. We'll be back again!

My husband and I came to this area for the Nascar races in Bristol and stayed at Watauga Cabins for several nights. We had all of the comforts of home in a nice setting on the river. Quiet and cozy. We loved hiking the Laurel Fork Trail while in the area. Thanks for sharing this space with us.

My daughter and I came for a daddy/daughter fishing trip. Everything was wonderful, from the view to the cabins to the day trip fishing. We intend to do this trip again!

We stumbled upon the Watauga River Cabins in a last minute search over Christmas. The description fit reality! This place is very rustic but also spotless and well appointed. They even had a Christmas tree, which was a very nice and welcomed touch. We kept saying it would be a wonderful place to go as a large group. Hats off to this heavenly location! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

This property was amazing. We were in town for my mom's 80th birthday celebration. My only complaint was that we didn't get to spend a lot of time at the Cabin. But we will be back to enjoy all it has to offer.

This space was perfect for our motorcycle group. The property has an awesome fire pit for reflecting on your day or just catching up. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the beds were comfy. The living room seating was extremely comfy as well. It was great to have a washer and dryer too! If you’re on motorcycles the roads to the property are all paved and the driveway is short and gravel but very manageable.

The location is perfect, out a country road, looking over the river; rocking chairs to sit and watch the river run. The fishing is great, catch and release only. there is a grill, a gas grittle, and a fire pit with plenty of wood. The cabin units have plenty of space, and all the necessities. The kitchen has stove/oven, microwave, coffee makers (both keurig and drip), pots/pans/dishes/silverware. Roku tv and fast internet as well. The owners are really nice and helpful. They are on premises about half the time and they have a property manager that lives close as well.

The cabins are great and the location was even better…
We went fishing, swimming, sat by the fire and that was all on the property.
It was 40 minutes from the Rodeo in the Valley, and 25 minutes from horse back riding in the mountains at Warrior Stables.
It was an adventure that will last a lifetime!

This was a great cabin. The cabin was very comfortable. The outdoor sitting areas were comfortable and provided great views. Many hours were spent relaxing by the river. The location was secluded and peaceful, however it was convenient to both Johnson City and Elizabethton. Plan to return next year.

This is our umpteenth visit. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else, relaxing, comfortable, with plenty of outdoor activities available. Just far enough away from town to feel that you’re away from town! But close enough to run in and grab a cuppa coffee if you need some.

We absolutely loved this property. The river is right in the back yard. There is an amazing swimming hole just a short float down stream. My husband and friends went fly fishing right down the steps to the water. The place is cozy and has all the modern amenities with the perfect antique cabin feel. The doors are all reclaimed old doors, the farm house sink is truly a farm house sink. We rented all three units and the set up was perfect. We dined Al Fresco every night. The river cooled the back yard under the trees- even in 100 degree weather it was comfortable. And no bugs! Best of all, our dog was in heaven. The owners really though of everything and just the right amount of nothing. I came home from this vacation not feeling like I needed a vacation. The pictures can do it justice, so just imagine perfection.

Very nice, quite stay in a very nice location away from all the city hustle and bustle but only about a 5-10 min drive to downtown Johnson City or Elizabethton. Great scenery with the river and the wild turkeys across the road. Would very much recommend for a quite get away.
